Chapter 72 - Return to Remnant: Future preparations

"All I'm seeing is green like cash rules! Everything but no cream, I snatch up!

Everything in my reach, I'm gassed up!

Better see you retreat. You could never rival my energy. Catch 'em wav riding like MP3. Come through, it's Chaos. All I know, Chaos! Boutta turn up the Entropy!"

Whatever Yin had expected when her 'Mother' took her and Yang in, it certainly wasn't being taken to a karaoke bar in her very own town. No God-like, Olympian haven for Gods. It was just a town with some strange technology here and there.

"Hey, Sis? I didn't black out and.. miss anything, did I?" Yang, seated beside Yin asked.

Yin turned to her with a wry smile, "Depends. Do you remember waking up, hearing her say 'Oh my other baby has awoken! Let's go bond! I know just the place!' before dragging us through some modern town and into this karaoke place?"

Yang opened her mouth, but decided there was nothing to refute. They had just been watching the strange, short woman que up a rap song and started to sing without a care in the world. And while she definitely found the situation weird, there was a strange, comfortable feeling being around the woman. Almost like when she was around Yin.

"Your turn!" Hecate finished, pointing the mic at them. They both looked a little awkwardly at Hecate, silently refusing.

"Oh come now. It'd help raise your singing levels. You'll need it for later, Yin." Hecate stated with a devilish grin, pushing the mic into Yin's lap.

Yin looked at her sister, her eyes almost pleading for her to help.

"Ahaha.. Well actually, I have a few questions. Like the whole 'Mom' thing? And what'll go on with the world we were in." Curious, Yang asked.

Hecate smirked and took a seat across from them both. "I suppose it's about time to tell you anyway, given you're both nearly adult Dragons now. But after I explain, I'm still expecting a song from both of you."

Yin felt like groaning but Yang shrugged. She was actually looking forward to hearing Yin sing. Hecate folded her hands as an uncharacteristically serious smile makes its way onto her face.

"Let's begin at when I created your Remnant. And yes, this will lead into the whole 'Mom' thing, Yang." Hecate glanced at Yang, who looked like she was about to ask.

Seeing her sheepish smile, Hecate continued. "Well, I say 'created' but in truth, I found it. There are a lot of other Remnants out there, all branching off from the original. I found this Remnant in its infancy stages as a world and altered quite a few things." That information made Yang's eyes widen subtly.

"The Dungeons, The Mythic Grimm, changes in what Dust truly is. Oh and a few things that were created due to the Everafter, such as some Gods of the land. You, Yin know a few yourself. The 'Animal Gods' of the Faunus. The world's been growing, changing drastically from the original. Though not enough to where it's unrecognizable. I cultured this world, for you." Yin slowly nodded, glancing at her sister, who was still processing it all.

Hecate gave her a few moments before continuing. "Yang was always going to exist. Perhaps not in her current form, but her existence, along with Ruby, Blake, Weiss and several of the others you're aware of.." Hecate glanced at Yin. "-were always going to exist. Yin, I created first. Then came Yang. You two exist as you are now because that's what truly suited you the most. Two halves of the balance."

Hecate gave them a minute to take it in. Then Yang exhaled and looked at her sister for a moment, then back at Hecate.

"That's.. a lot. So.. you created us.. But for what reason exactly? Is there some big purpose we have to fulfill? Or are we just entertainment?" Her last question carried a little anger.

"That's a fair question. I created you two from two cosmic entities. The Black heart and the White heart. I gave you a world, a path to power and each other. It's pretty normal to think you'd have some Divine purpose. But in truth? I have no grand destiny or purpose to give you. I have wishes. That, later down the line, you'll join me in a coming conflict. But, if you don't want to? That's completely fine too." Hecate said casually. The serious atmosphere had completely dissipated as soon as she finished.

Even Yin had a hard time accepting it. Though she figured this was just in her character. Yang kept opening her mouth but hadn't found the right words to express herself yet.

"Now now.. Just because I have no grand purpose for you doesn't mean you're without purpose. That's the great part, you get to choose! You're Demigod Dragons. Your fate is yours to shape. You wanna save the world? Do it. Embrace the challenges set in front of you. You want to rule it? Go nuts! Hell, you could even destroy it. Create a multi-dimensional empire, create a cafe in between dimensions. You're not limited to Remnant." Hecate smiled, her eagerness to see what the sisters would develop into was obvious, given how wildly her tails were moving around.

"Ah.. y-yeah. You're right." Yang let out a silent laugh and scratched the back of her head before looking at Yin. "I guess nothing really changes huh? I mean.. aside from possible future God war stuff. Knowing we're Demigods is pretty neat eh?" As usual, Yang had a rather positive attitude.

"Right~? Well now that I told you how I birthed you from my mind-womb..! It's time to sing, Yin." Hecate creaked her head and smiled at Yin mischievously.

"Damn it.. Fine. Just cue up something that isn't dogshit like mumble rapping.." Yin acquiesced, seeing how eager the two were looking at her.

Thus the three spent a few hours singing together. And by the end of it, the sisters felt a certain closeness to the Goddess, despite only having spent a few hours together. After reuniting with Shia, who had been talking with a muscular girl with deep brown hair with white highlights who somewhat resembled an Owl, they returned back to Remnant.

It was still Midnight when they returned, standing outside the Ruins. Yin was about to look for Ophis when they all recieved a notification.

[Rewards gained! Yang has been gifted with the same system, along with the rewards for the actions taken during the year-long event.

Shia has recieved: Mana manipulation (skill), Focus mode (Skill) and Enchanted Bunny Suit!

Yang has received: Dragonforce (Skill), Power (Skill) and Mavuika outfit!

Yin has recieved: Dragonforce (Skill), Aura-to-flesh refinment (Technique) and a custom made outfit!

PS: Ophis is with me. We have things to talk about. -Your Momma]

"I can do more magic!" Shia immediately exclaimed in excitement, her hands glowing a faint blue.

"You should practice that then. Though it's strange.. picturing you sling spells." Yin hummed.

"Sick! Oh man.. Now I know what I've been missing out on. And what's Dragonforce? And the outfit?" Yang looked at her screen questioningly.

"It's a sort of magic release state.. I guess our partial Dragon forms are a lot more useful now. Other than being used for flying and extra armor." Yin replied while looking at her custom made outfit.

It consisted of a sexy black body stocking, a velvet short black open shirt, a white dress shirt, slit black skirt, ripped black tights, black heels and a long dark blue coat with a grey fur collar.

'This is.. unreasonably sexy. But it sort of suits me for my upcoming plans in Vale..' Yin hummed, picturing herself in the clothing.

"Wow.. I gotta try this later. Wanna go back? I kinda miss everyone." Yang nudged Yin on the arm, breaking her free from her thoughts.

Yin nodded, "Yeah, let's go. I just hope Ruby doesn't get upset that we went on that trip."

"I'm so upset..." Ruby declared with a hollow expression as she sat on the tire swing behind the Arc's house. Yin and Yang could hardly look at her, being as distraught as she was.

"E-Eeeeh.. It's not so bad..! Right? There wasn't that much you missed.." Shia tried her best but Ruby simply groaned.

"You... met Cat girls, Fox girls, Fallen Angel girls, Vampires..! AND A GUY..!! WHO COULD.. LITERALLY!!! CREATE ANY BLADE HE WANTED!!!" Ruby clutched onto the two as her tears cascaded down her face like little waterfalls.

"You even made cool blades from each other's scales..! What about me!!? You could have given them to me! I'd make you such awesome and fantastic mechashift DRAGON WEAPONS!" Ruby cried in sheer outrage.

Jaune, who had also tagged along to hear them talk about their trip also looked envious.

"I'm so jealous..! You guys were heroes! While we were sleeping too.." He sulked.

"Rubes..! I'm sorry we didn't take you. It's just..- It was dangerous, you know? I promise, we'll give you some scales to make up for it!" Yang tried her best to appease her.

Yin nodded, feeling particularly guilty when those teary silver eyes looked at her. Though she didn't give much of a damn about Jaune, she wasn't going to laugh at him, like she wanted to. Still, she felt it was more than reasonable not to take an untrained blond noodle with motion sickness and a weapon nut along with them to such a dangerous world.

"We'll go on Instant Dungeon raids when you're older, okay? You just need to train and.. mature a bit." Yin tried to placate.

Ruby and Jaune looked at her with shining eyes, latching onto her words.

"Yeah! You hear that, Jaune!? Magic world! Oh man..! I'm gonna do a hundred push-ups right now to get started!" Ruby exclaimed, her excitement bubbling over.

Yang grabbed her shoulders before she could, laughing a bit awkwardly. Both her and Yin knew bringing Jaune would definitely get the guy killed or seriously hurt. Could they power him up so he could stand a chance? Sure. With their blood, they could turn him into someone pretty strong, even without training. But the idea of bestowing blood upon someone as weak as Jaune repulsed them both.

It was one thing if it was Ruby.. but Jaune?

''No fucking way'' Both of them thought at once.

"Okay.. here's an idea. We'll train you guys while I'm here during Spring." Yin proposed, instantly getting Jaune excited.

Little did he know truly how far he would be pushed under the training program made by two Dragons.

Walking through the forest of the shared space, where all the authorities of the Goddesses gathered, Hecate hummed in amusement, seeing as Ophis was caught by a particularly playful Tearwyn. She was tied to a Sakura tree, bound by a golden chain, something that could contain her that carried an authority.

"Hello Ophis. I like this look way better than the fetish gothic loli look." Hecate greeted with a small smirk.

Ophis stared back, a look almost resembling anger.

"Why have you separated me from my daughter?" She asked.

"First off, that's my daughter." "Hehe~ Tell our Rae that~" A cute, playful voice added.

Hecate shrugged, "Our Rae won't meet Yin until she's older. She'd have the same issue I'm currently having with Ophis."

Hecate then looked up at a nearby treebranch, seeing Tearwyn kicking her legs.

"Issue..?" Ophis asked.

"Yeah, issue. If you went with her, it'd ruin her growth. There'd be no risks. You'd be a safety net. Her 'Save me Mahoraga-kun!'" Hecate stated, followed with a sigh.

Seeing as how Ophis wasn't following, she explained.

"One doesn't learn how to ride a bike with the training wheels still on. Even recently she's been reckless. The threat of death, of Yang's death is what got her to learn. She may still be underestimating the threat of her Remnant. There's more underneath it all than she realizes." Ophis frowned.

"Dangerous.. I should-" "If you go after her, even if you break free, you'd only cause her ruin. She'd either grow so arrogant that she dies fighting someone stronger or it consumes her and drives her and Yang apart, killing one of them in the process. I know. This has happened before." Hecate interrupted with a cold, sharp look in her eyes.

"Mm~ The others you planted those hearts into really got out of hand. I hope this works. I like Yin and Yang." Tearwyn added with a thoughtful nod.

Ophis stilled, thinking on the consequences Hecate spelled out for her. She really couldn't stand the thought of the girl so resembling her 'silence' dying. Seeing Ophis relax, Hecate smiled.

"Yeah.. I hope so too. Now, letting you watch? That, we can do. Let's see what silly escapades they're up to.." Hecate pulled out a remote from the convenient pocket called her cleavage and pressed the power button.

*Zip~*

"On my MOMMA you are sorry as Hell! Were you born on the highway!? That's where most accidents happen! Give me AT LEAST twenty push ups, Pussy!" Yin was yelling at a scared Jaune, who had just been forced to run five kilometers, only to get told immediately after to do a hundred push-ups.

"I'm so proud.."
