A massive explosion shook the island, sending a shockwave through the jungle.
From the cave entrance, they saw a brilliant orange light flare in the distance, fire licking up into the sky.
Something big had just happened.
"Fuck," Rian hissed, shifting as some stalagmites shifted in the chaos.
"That's not good," Yara mumbled, frowning worriedly.
Yara's hand instinctively found the hilt of her blade, fingers tightening around the worn leather grip. Something was wrong. Her heart pounded against her ribs, adrenaline sharpening her senses. "That came from the other side of the island," she muttered, eyes narrowing as she listened for aftershocks.
Beside her, Rian groaned, pushing himself up from where he'd been reclining against the cavern wall. He rubbed his temples, wincing as if the tremor had rattled his skull. "I take it that wasn't the welcoming fireworks?"
