"My arrival must have been unsettling," Cliff thought as he walked through the streets of the city. His house was nearby, but he wanted to take this moment to stretch his legs.
To his great surprise, everyone was waiting for his return. A cheer rose the moment he appeared—voices chanting his name, faces beaming with joy.
Since he had already been with the soldiers earlier, Cliff had thought his post-war speech would be enough. But he had forgotten that a whole people were waiting for him.
"I didn't expect to see so many people here…" he murmured, slightly embarrassed.
A familiar voice rose behind him:
"You really need to stop walking around like some ordinary man. You declared yourself Sovereign."
Cliff looked up. Even in the dead of night, he could clearly make out the tall figure of the approaching elf. His emerald-green hair and eyes shimmered under the magical fireflies lighting the city. Dressed in a simple tunic and sandals, he moved with an easy stride.
