Chapter 83 - PWA 83 Second Day in Jelly Bean Town

The Cyndaquil spew out a large amount of black smoke from its snout upon seeing Terry's gesture.

So that motion is a code for Smokescreen?

Unfortunately for them, though, using that kind of move has no effect on Shion's move combination.

Why? It's because...

*Crash Bang!* I haven't even finished with my thought when a loud sound of something crashing can be heard from inside the smokescreen, it is a sign that Shion have gone out from the underground and had emerged to attack the Cyndaquil.

As for whether her Dig can hit the Cyndaquil or not, that's not too important.

Because after using Dig, my Pokémon will continue her surprise attack with a Fairy type, never miss attack move Disarming Voice!

A cute, charming cry can be heard from inside the smoke screen, indicating my Pokémon has executed her never miss STAB Move.

After that, another series of charming cries can be heard from the smokescreen, my Wooxie seems to have taken the initiative to spam her never miss STAB move so that it will always hit the enemy hidden behind the smoke.

"Shion, come back here." Of course when the situation is unclear inside the smoke, I would prefer for my Pokémon who have a type disadvantages against her enemy to be on my eyesight so I can adapt the strategy according to her situation.

"Woo xie~" my Shion happily returned to my side after she get out from the smokescreen by following the direction of my voice.

Hmmmm.... I take a good look on my Wooxie and aside from a light bruise she have from being hit by a Quick Attack earlier and some soot from the smoke on her body, she seems to be in a perfect fit.

"Shion, are you fine? Did you get hit by any attacks inside there?" I asked my Shion while my fingers is pointing out to the screen of black smoke that is still thickly covering the other side of battle arena.

"Woo xie, xie xie~" Shion answered me by energetically nodding like a Doduo pecking rice on the ground at my first question and furiously shaking her head like a spinning Hitmontop on my second question.

Oh, good then. So basically she is almost in perfect health now.

Even though she have suffered from the first attack by the Cyndaquil, but thanks to the Shell Bell held by her, by now she have recovered fully from all the healing she gets while delivering attacks to her enemy.

Just as we are communicating with each other, a gout of flame, an Ember to be exact, is shot from the smokescreen towards Shion.

"Quick Dodge!" I reflexively commanded Shion to dodge the attack with the extra speed granted from Quick Attack.

"Shion, counter with Fairy Wind!" I asked Shion as she gathered a breath of pinkish colored air.

My Wooxie then blowed off the wind that are imbued with pink coloured Fairy type aura to the smoke screen, clearing quite a big chunk of it out of the arena, and giving us both a clear view of the Cyndaquil which was hiding behind its own smokescreen.

That Cyndaquil looks to be in a very sorry state as it has received a lot of either the super effective Ground type moves or the STAB Fairy type moves from my Shion.

Its accuracy have been lowered by Sand Attack, and even when it hides behind the screen of black smoke, my Pokémon can hit it with her never miss move that are packed with a same type attack bonus.

In other words, that Cyndaquil is f*cked up.

It has been totally screwed by Shion under my commands.

Terry take a good look at his Fire Pokémon which have been battered up very badly by a part Grass opponent.

If it is a human, surely that Cyndaquil's head would looks like a pig right now, its face can only be recognised by its mother.

That is, considering if its mother still remembers that it is her kid.

Terry's gaze switched back and forth between his Cyndaquil that is clearly on its last straw of life to my Wooxie which is still alive and kicking in prime condition.

*Sigh.....* Blowing out a heavy breath from his mouth, Terry take out his pokeball and returned his Cyndaquil back to rest inside its pokeball, effectively forfeiting from the duel since he can't see his Pokémon winning in any possible way.

Even if it is miraculously evolved like Sekai Saionji's Totodile, that Cyndaquil would still be in its last line of life.

A single STAB Fairy type or a super effective Ground type move is all Shion needed to use it to mop the ground.

Terry leave the battle arena while I am basking in a wave of cheers and applause fron the audience in the Duel Dome.

And with that, I bagged my third win!

Two more rounds to go and my wallet will get fatter by ten thousand pokedollars 🤑👛💰

With that in my mind, I met with Kotonoha again and we watched the match together while snacking on a pack of churros and caramel popcorn.

Oh, by the way, there is a very interesting match I am watching now.

It is a Duel between two characters from Yu-Gi-Oh! Franchise, Rex Raptor and Weevil Underwood.

Oh my Mew, what the hail are those people from a trading card game franchise doing in a pocket monster world?

Rex Raptor send out a Larvitar, and Weevil Underworm, I mean, Underwood, send out a Scyther.

Too bad our distance is too far, so I cannot scan them and add their Pokémon's info to my Pokédex.

The Larvitar begin first by attempting to use Rock Throw, but the Scyther is even faster as it used Double Team to make a shadow copy of itself and dodge the piece of rock that is thrown to it by its enemy.

Weevil's Scyther then continuing on with a Sword Dance while it is enduring its enemy's Bite and then proceed with using a Focus Energy as it evaded the Larvitar's Rock Slide.

Finally, the fight ended with the Scyther using its multi-attacks move, the Fury Cutter that strikes true to the Larvitar for five times in a quick succession and then continue again with another five strokes of Fury Cutter that some are striking its foe's vitals, all the while it dodges its enemy's attempts in using a Tackle and a Payback.

Hmmm.... Since Weevil win, then he might become my opponent on the next round.

...

Moving on, I am already on the fourth round as I entered the Battle Arena under the cheers of the audience.

I waved my hands to them and flashing my most beautiful smile that makes a lot of the boys and the girls in the audience seats swooning over me.

Hm hm hm~ I really don't regret choosing to be a Trap, and a cool beauty one on top of that, too.

And my opponent for the fourth round of the Duel Tournament is....

Surprise, Surprise, we have Bonz from Yu-Gi-Oh!, the first zombie duelist who is often hanging out on the graveyard.

Aiyohhhh, the fourth round and I dueled someone who is reeking with the stench of death.

If this is a novel, I would like to ask who is the author who make such a super cliche coincidental plot?

By the way, I wonder what is his Pokémon would be?

Will he have a Pumpkaboo in remembrance of his iconic Pumpking the King of Ghost from his anime debut in Duelist Kingdom Arc?

Hmmmm..... Let's gamble on that chance and sent Shion out again since the enemy would surely use a Ghost type Pokémon.

[ ] Author's Note [ ]

Fun Fact: There are 87 Ghost type Pokémon so far in March 2024, with 68 of them are Dual type Pokémon. Ghosts are rare Pokémon, and the only type to have two immunities. Though the latter games have added more to the roster so they now sit third from bottom in terms of numbers, above Ice and Fairy.

In the first generation, Ghost moves has no effect on Psychic Pokémon, however, it was later changed to be super-effective. In Generations 1-3 of the games, all Ghost type moves were categorized as Physical moves.

When paired with the Dark type it was the only type combination to have no weaknesses before the Fairy type was introduced in Gen 6. Yeah, at that time there are some dishonest player who used cheats to make a Dark/Ghost type Spiritomb with Wonder Guard ability.....

By the way, the Average HP Stats of Ghost Pokémons are 66.6 points, multiply that by 10 and you will get a very demonic number indeed 😅👻🍻
