"What happened back there, Sir?" Aljon asked in a barely audible whisper, clearly worried about upsetting Reign by interrupting him.
Reign paused and stood up, his face unreadable due to the lack of skin which revealed his true demon form.
"I was planning to kill the meta-human, but then another one showed up," Reign said, clearly annoyed.
He chose not to mention how he had been burned by his own skill, as it was too embarrassing.

As if remembering something, he walked over to Aljon, grabbing his collar and lifting him off the ground.
His legs kicked in panic, and his face went pale as he struggled to catch his breath. His voice shaking as he tried to speak. "W— What did I do? "
