Olivia did not intend to kill; his control over magic was extremely precise, using just enough energy to cut through the leather armor but not harm the skin, which nonetheless scared the mercenary into a cold sweat.
The two mercenaries, enraged by Olivia's attack, did not think twice. Amidst their cursing, they both drew broad longswords from their backs, tossed aside their baggage, and charged.
