"Wow, she's a Super Named NPC," Michael mumbled as he looked at Violet's status screen, making him wonder if this was another jackpot from his Miraculous Luck skill.

But wait... why wasn't she mentioned in the original book? he thought. Unknown to him, in the original story, Violet quietly left the palace after the King died. With no remaining relatives and no official role, she simply disappeared and never returned.

"Anyway, she's powerful," Michael whispered to himself just as Violet returned to him.

"Let's rest for today. Starting tomorrow, we can begin working on the city," she said with a soft smile.

Michael nodded. "Alright. I'll also check the rest of the city systems tomorrow. Paul should be sending reinforcement NPCs soon."

Violet didn't say anything, just nodded again and stayed by his side.

The next day, Grid arrived at Reidan and took a long look at the battered and broken city.

He sighed in relief. "At least this guy got the worst city," he muttered, half in amusement and half in pity at Michael's misfortune.

Still, Grid wasn't completely alone. Lauel had arrived, along with a few members of the newly formed Overgeared Guild — Faker, Jishuka, Pon, and Vantner.

They had come because Grid informed them that he was going to have a death match with Michael.

"This map says Reidan is the second-largest city in the kingdom, and yet… look at it," Jishuka said, shaking her head in disbelief.

"It's because of the high-level monsters in the desert surrounding it," Lauel replied grimly. "Even the only river nearby is infested with high-level aquatic monsters. And let's not forget—vampires have been preying on the residents here. The long battle with three different forces crippled Reidan. Now it's just a ghost of its former glory."

He flipped open his notebook, reviewing the notes and plans he had been preparing for Reidan's potential revival--Negotiation he has prepared in exchange for Braham message.

"Anyway, let's just get this match over with and then we'll leave," Grid muttered, already feeling the pressure. The others followed him silently.

They all knew what this match was really about—Michael had obtained an item that could turn a his guild into a criminal organization. Grid was now fulfilling one of Michael's demands to keep that message from coming to light.

As expected, a small arena near the ruined gates had been prepared for the duel. Michael was already there as many residents of the City were present too. They have all learned that their new lord is going to have an battle, they are here to see if the New lord can save them from the monsters that are harassing them.

Grid entered the arena on the opposite side, his expression grim. This wasn't just a duel — it was a power move, a public display of dominance. The whole city of Reidan had gathered to witness it.

'This bastard… he's using me as a stepping stone to raise his status in the eyes of these residents,' Grid thought bitterly as he looked at Michael, who stood lazily at the other end of the arena, looking relaxed — almost amused.

"Are you ready?" Michael asked casually, his arms crossed.

Grid nodded, already equipping several of his legendary items. "Alright then… let's see if you can beat me," he said with tension in his voice.

But Michael didn't move. Instead, he raised one finger — and suddenly, the air trembled.

A figure appeared behind him with an ominous aura. Death Guardian Viktor, clad in black armor, holding a massive cursed greatsword, stomped forward, his presence enough to make even the onlookers flinch.

"You want to fight me?" Michael said, smiling. "Then first… defeat my summon."

He leaned back against the arena wall, giving Grid a nod as if offering him a warm-up. Viktor pointed his sword directly at Grid.

"If you want to reach your opponent… your sword must pass through me first," Viktor said in a deep, deathly voice.

Grid's eye twitched. "I can't believe this guy… He's treating me like some common mob boss challenge," he muttered.

Still, he stepped forward, drawing his sword, golden aura pulsing from his body.

"Fine," Grid growled. "Let's see if your toy can survive the Pagma's Successor."

The match was on.
