The wedding went by in a breeze. I like their culture. It was the opposite of mine. The way they spoke,dressed and even down to the food was different. But I would learn to understand them I guess. People had come to bring their blessings, some genine some fake. But I noticed something, all the people that had come to offer their blessings, seem to be scared kaden. Like he was some animal that could strike you any moment. I was soon tired of smiling so, I hid away and sat somewhere far away.
A maid came and pulled me away from my sit and took me to my room. They removed the wedding robe and removed the accessories. One of them brought a lingerie. The lingerie was so reavealing, if you saw it you'd think it was better for me to just go naked. They gave me a long robe and lathered me with nice oils. Wait.....oh heavens, I didn't think of this. The wedding night. I was going to sleep with that man,and I didn't have an idea of how he was. I had heard about this from the maids but paid it no mind and now that time had come.
Maybe if I sleep before he comes this will be postponed? Yes! I will force myself to sleep and pray to the higher beings that he doesn't wake me up to attend to the real business of the moment.
They prepped me and to me to what i think is Kaden's bedroom. To get to his room you would have to follow a pathway. It was like you were going to an apartment.They left me in front of the door. One of them smiled while Angelica gave me a look of encouragement. Ugh. They left me standing there, and I was left in front of the door. Even if he wasn't in the there I still felt intimidated that it was his room.
I opened the door entered inside and heard a gasp of shock. It was from me.
He was sitting in the room with legs crossed while wearing a new change of clothes. I took his attention and he just stared at me.
I started feeling agigated because I couldn't read him.
" When I first met you,I will thought you were mute due to your silence but, I guess you aren't. But with the way you do you make me feel you have speech issues." I said something trying to ....put something out there.
He simply smiled
" Why don't you take off your robe first?."
Hmm? What did this man just say? I should take off my robe. Look at how he's saying it as if it's some casual thing. Oh well it is casual, especially the situation aren't we married. So this is the marriage life. It would have been more easier to do if it was someone I knew.
" Why?."
" Why not?."
" Just stop it, answer my question."
He then laughed.
"Don't overthink it, why would i want to sleep with you."
When he said that I felt so.....bad about myself. Did I really look hilarious? Or I wasn't beautiful enough? I decided to calm myself down and not get riled up because of the guy. He wasn't worth it. He simply stood up from his chair and walked out of the room.
I sat on the bed.
But why did he suddenly behave this way? He was nicer during the wedding. Or, was he pretending? I guess I had forgotten that I was basically an outcast that would never fit in here.
The cool breeze hit me and I quickly fit out of bed. I stood for a while then the memories of last night hit me. The awkwardness and shame. Well since having a "loving" husband is out of the picture, let me start working on that dream of turning my balcony into the perfect library. The eyes brimed with excitement.
This was going to be a good day.
The maids had finished getting me into the attire of the day, while Angelica stood next to me.
" Your majesty, do you feel sore? So I can get you something to take to ease that."

" No well I'm ok it didn't hurt that much." Knowing quickly what exactly she was talking about.
" Ok."
" Angelica?."
" Your Majesty?."
" Why are you standing next to me?."
" I am your lady in waiting and personal maid, I'm going to be around you all the time your majesty."
Ugh I didn't want anyone around me now. But, I was the wife to the crown prince of arkanis what was I expecting?.
"Can we go to any library and collect books?."
" Yes but,you have something to do. You have to stand with his majesty and meet with the royal officials."
" Ok so where is he?."
" I am here."
I turned and oh the all mighty Kaden is here yayyyyy.
" Leave us."
Everyone in the room left. Leaving only me and him together in the room.
Oh my I felt like giving him a slap across the face I swear on great lord toravani's grave.
" You don't look happy to see me today. My beautiful wife." He said with a tinge of sarcasm. I hope he isn't applying it to the beauty part. Because, back in my hometown men would give my father at least 5(five) pegasi to be privileged to talk to me. But here I was with a man that didn't appreciate me. I don't blame him though,you don't usually value what you didn't struggle to get.
" Because I don't want to see you. My handsome husband." He narrowed his eyes at me.
" I am sure your maid told you about the meeting with the officials. It's happening right after now."
" Why? Can't we just push it to evening or another day or something? I don't feel like doing anything right now."
" Because unlike you, we have things to do."
Oh ok, he's literally trying to say I'm jobless. I swear on great lord toravani's grave I will throw my shoe at this man.
" What?."
" Did I lie though? You don't have anything valuable to contribute to anyone."
" Let's just go."
Because if he stays here any minute more I will stangle him.
