Kai woke up as usual and followed his daily routine of getting dressed and heading straight to the Raven Clan's library. As he made his way there, he spotted his younger half-brother, Nathaniel, accompanied by two servants.
"Well, if it isn't my useless older brother," Nathaniel taunted.
Kai ignored Nathaniel's remarks and continued walking past him.
"What, going to continue to ignore me?" Nathaniel persisted.
"Yup," replied Kai calmly and without hesitation.
Nathaniel quickly positioned himself beside Kai and put his arm around him. "Ha ha ha ha, oh come on, brother. Don't you ever get angry at the amount of people who insult you on a daily basis?"
Kai glanced at Nathaniel, maintaining his composure. "Insults don't hold power over me, Nathaniel. I choose not to let them affect my emotions or actions. It's a waste of energy to get angry over such trivial matters."
Nathaniel tightened his grip on Kai's shoulder, mocking him. "Oh, look at you, Mr. Stoic. Always so calm and collected. But deep down, I know it bothers you. You're just too proud to admit it."
Remaining composed, Kai calmly removed Nathaniel's arm from his shoulder and continued walking. "You can believe whatever you want, Nathaniel. I know who I am, and I'm not defined by the opinions of others."
Nathaniel scoffed and shared a knowing look with the two servants. "We'll see about that, brother. One day, you'll break, and when you do, I'll be there to witness it."
Kai maintained his composure, refusing to let his brother's words affect him. "If that brings you joy, then so be it, Nathaniel. But don't waste your time waiting for something that won't happen. Now, if you'll excuse me, I have important matters to attend to," Kai said as he continued on his path toward the Raven Clan's library.
"Whatever you say, brother. Oh, and I almost forgot, happy birthday, brother!" Nathaniel shouted before leaving as well.
As Kai continued toward the library, he couldn't help but overhear whispers about him.
"Is that the young master who was born with the Heavenly Mortal Body?"
"Shh, yeah, that's him."
"The young master who has the inability to gather any Mana."
Entering the Raven Clan's library, Kai was greeted by the familiar scent of old books and the quiet atmosphere that enveloped the space.
The library was housed in a magnificent building, with tall shelves stretching from floor to ceiling, filled with countless volumes of knowledge spanning various subjects.
Kai made his way to his favorite reading nook near a large window, where soft sunlight streamed in, casting a warm glow on the pages of the books.
As he settled into a comfortable chair, he reached for the book he had been reading the previous day—a historical account of the ancient civilizations that once thrived in the region.
In his head, a mechanical voice spoke, [Happy 12th birthday, master]
"So it's been 12 years since I reincarnated into this world, huh?" Kai thought to himself.
Kai was not originally from this world. He was originally a high school teacher from the modern world who died while trying to save a cat from an oncoming truck.
[the battle simulation system has finally finished loading, master]
Kai's eyes widen in surprise. When Kai reincarnated, he reincarnated with a system called the battle simulation system.
However every time he tried to activate the system or use any of its functions, it would constantly say it was loading.
With a surge of nervousness and excitement, he immediately yelled "open system!!"
As Kai shouted the command, his surroundings seemed to shift. The familiar library and its comforting atmosphere faded away, replaced by a vast expanse of light and data streams.
Before him appeared a holographic interface.

"The rest are all grayed out and question marks, number one is only one that isn't a question mark and is lit up, guess battle simulation is the only one I can use for the time being." Kai immediately select battle simulation.
[your name is Carl Nix, your are a new soldier in training at Camp Darvon, you are Promised your daughter that you will become a great soldier and come back alive]
[it is time for the monthly sparring sessions, the drill sergeant, calls, Leo dovos and you as the opening spar]
The streams of data around Kai start to transform Kai and his surroundings, the very next thing kai knew he was wearing armor and holding a sword, facing down another man in armor.
As the transformation completed, Kai found himself fully immersed in the battle simulation. He took a moment to adjust to his new appearance and surroundings, feeling the weight of the armor and the grip of the sword in his hand.
The knight in front of him, Leo Dovos, immediately, charged forward and immediately swung his sword at Kai, Kai immediately parried the attack.
Leo continued his attack by trying to sweep the leg, but Kai immediately jumped back. Before Kai could even have a sigh of relief, Leo was already immediately in front of him, and immediately attacked.
As Leo's onslaught continued, Kai continued to parry Leo's attacks, he couldn't help but marvel at the instincts and muscle memory that seemed to guide his movements. It was as if he had inherited the combat skills and experience of Carl Nix, the soldier whose identity he had assumed within the battle simulation.
As kai was lost in thought, Leo let go of his sword, confusing, Kai and immediately kicking Kai in the pelvis, then immediately reclaimed his sword from the ground, and jumped on top of Kai and pointed his sword towards his neck.
"that's enough, the winner is Leo Dovos" said the drill sergeant.
Kai's heart raced as he heard the drill sergeant's command. The battle simulation abruptly ended, and the holographic interface disappeared, revealing the familiar surroundings of the Raven Clan's library once again.
Kai took a moment to catch his breath and process what had just happened. The experience had felt so real, as if he had truly been engaged in a life-or-death battle. He couldn't deny the rush of adrenaline and the thrill of combat that had coursed through his veins.
He looked around the library, half-expecting someone to have noticed his momentary disappearance or the sudden display of his combat skills. However, everything seemed undisturbed, and the other patrons continued their quiet reading.
