Konoha
The sunlight slipped through the curtains, its rays spilling onto Kazuki's face as he lay on the futon. With a slight shiver, he opened his sleepy eyes, the blurry surroundings gradually coming into focus.
"HA!"
Yawning, Kazuki sat up, rubbing his hands through his silver hair and was in a daze for a while. "Sigh… It's really peaceful,"
Muttered Kazuki while letting out a sigh, the change of environment even for him was a bit difficult to get used to. For two years he had been sleeping in a war zone, his body always on alert against any sudden intrusion. The transition from a bloody atmosphere to this floral-scented tatami room was really a huge leap.
After folding the futon and setting it in the corner, Kazuki headed downstairs for a shower, freshening up early in the morning. Once done, he quickly slipped into his ninja gear, tying on his forehead protector, pulling on the green chunin jacket over a blue shirt, and stepping into black trousers with white stripes on the right upper thigh.
His ninja pouch hung at his waist, and inside it, the Kusanagi blade was sealed in a scroll.
Two years in the war had made Kazuki feel a bit uncomfortable and unsafe if he didn't carry his ninja tools with him, used to staying in his ninja gear now.
Walking out of the house, Kazuki turned around to lock the door and took the route to a nearby breakfast stall, ready to fill his stomach. At the stall, while eating steamed rice topped with softly cooked eggs and pan-seared steak, Kazuki pondered over how to plan his days ahead.
Now that the war was over and he was never assigned to a fixed squad, he really had nothing to do until the Hokage assigned him somewhere or he picked missions at his own free will.
The daily template extraction training was a must, but how to use the remaining time was worth thinking over. Even though he had strength equal to those on the surface, that didn't mean he could start indulging himself, be lazy, and not think of ways to improve himself further.
"Improving the Flying Raijin is a must… with a prototype already in my mind, there is no way I can't do what Minato did without it," thought Kazuki as he chewed the tender steak. With the extraction of the template reaching 70%, he had unlocked one of the most potent jutsu in the Second Hokage's arsenal.
With mastery of the technique now equal to what Tobirama had when he was alive, he was able to point out the differences between Tobirama's Flying Raijin and Minato's in his memory.
The first weak point was delayed long-distance teleporting; the Flying Raijin mark that Tobirama had developed was in a way incomplete. It allowed long-distance teleportation, but the chakra signature it gave off to pinpoint the location was sometimes stable and sometimes unstable.
It took a long time to sense a stable chakra signature to teleport to; maybe this was the reason why Tobirama could never teleport away when he was being pursued by the Kinkaku squad. He needed to complete the Flying Raijin formula, which required some delving into the sealing jutsu.
Another difference was the Flying Raijin of Tobirama's inability to teleport objects other than himself or those not in direct physical contact with him. Minato was able to teleport Tailed Beast Bombs with a super-stable Flying Raijin formula gate, which he could manifest in the very air, a feat worthy of the title of a true genius.
Aside from this, there were some other ninjutsu from the future as well, which he wanted to create, and with his mastery of all chakra natures, it was definitely possible to do so.
Another crucial project in Kazuki's head was the creation of a Kekkei Tōta (combination of three chakra natures, like Particle Style) and a flying ninjutsu.
The difficulty of the former is self-explanatory, as up till now in the history of shinobi, only one Kekkei Tōta is mentioned: Particle Style, developed by the Second Tsuchikage, Mū.
He already had a combination in his mind that he wanted to try, hoping for it to achieve the results he wanted. Flying ninjutsu was also rare in the shinobi world, and the most famous was Iwagakure's "Light-Weight Rock Technique."
The jutsu was able to reduce a person's or even an object's weight to even lighter than air, allowing them to float.
He had an idea for his flying ninjutsu already as well, which involved delving deeply into the change of chakra shape and change in chakra nature of wind release. Now with a plan in his head, Kazuki couldn't wait to start training, paying the bill and leaving.
Konoha Training Ground 78
It was a rocky plain located at the outskirts of the village, barely anyone visiting this place, perfect for Kazuki to conduct his experiments. (Picture the training ground similar to where Kakashi taught Sasuke Chidori in the Chunin Exams.)
