Chapter 208 - I Am Number One

"I am number one."

Legend had once been a member of the Enforcers. He was actually part of the original Enforcers created by Full Monarch, and many people considered him to be the second strongest hero on the planet.

After Full Monarch's death, Legend became the number one hero for a very short time before his title was taken over by the Victorian, who defeated him in combat and saved double the number of lives he did in a single year. Once more, Legend found himself living as the second-best hero in the world.

For a bit of time, he stepped away and focused on raising his sons. His efforts mainly went to Fable, whom he molded into a powerful hero that would one day join the Enforcers and become the third strongest hero.

Legend was never the best. He was a man that wanted to stand at the top but never could due to the fact that there was always going to be people stronger than him. In a world with Lords, it didn't matter how skilled he truly was. He had reached his limit as a Super.

So, Legend simply gave up being a Super.

"I am number one."

Long, long ago, the four Lords faced their greatest challenge. An entity from beyond the stars. A being of untold power that could change the universe itself. The entity known as the Shadow. The four Lords did battle, and in the end, they beat the Shadow, but at the cost of their own lives. It wasn't over for the Lords, though. They would be reborn. Again and again, when the world needed them most, they would rise up. They weren't the only ones looking to come back, though... Upon its death, the Shadow split and tore itself into four pieces. The antithesis to the four Lords.

The Rulers.

Upon his death, a darkness would awaken in Legend. A hungry, mad power that screamed for the annihilation of everything. At last, he had become something more than a mere Super. Legend got his dream. He was finally special. He was the Ruler of Ash and Ruin.

"What is that thing?" Cora shouted out and held tighter onto Cinder.

Cinder felt her lips purse into a thin line. The bowl had shattered completely into tiny pieces, raining the shards down. From the ground, a golden arm stabbed out of the stone. It was long, nearly as big as she was, and extremely thick. It looked sort of robotic-like, similar to Golden God, but much smaller. The arm flexed a little, and it twisted and bent, touching the ground.

"I am number one." A low voice hummed out from the bowl, coming from deep beneath the ground.

Cinder didn't give it a single chance. She swatted her hand out as hard as she could and launched out a wave of red-hot fire. It flowed across the ground and smashed into the arm, scorching the stone but doing very little to the metal itself. It was a little annoying having her powers fully return only for her to do basically nothing with the first use of her fire. The entire cave began to rumble, and rocks dropped from above, so she hooked an arm around Cora's waist and lifted the girl up. Her feet ignited and sent out a wave of fire, allowing her to jump back and avoid the boulders that dropped from above.

"What's happening?" Cora yelled.

"My crappy luck," Cinder responded flatly. "Seriously, what the hell? Why does this happen to me?"

'Maybe if you didn't constantly jump into danger headfirst, you'd have slightly better luck.' The Brightest Star snorted.

"Hey, I don't want to hear it from you," Cinder said, rolling her eyes. "If you got nothing important to say, just hush."

"W- Who are you talking to?" Cora asked, very concerned that her savior was insane.

"Person in my head, don't worry about it." Cinder brushed the other girl's concerns off and lifted Cora up fully in her arms. "I'm going to blast through that roof and get us out of here. Hold on tight, okay-"

'Too late.' The Brightest Star warned. 'He's spotted us.'

The shaking grew worse, and the ground began to crack and split open. Cinder used her fire to lift herself up and float up the area as the floor opened up. The golden arm pulled itself out of the opening, and the limb seemed to be connected to a torso. A large one that was also forged of solid gold. At last, she came face to face with Legend as he lifted himself out of the ground. He stood nearly fourteen feet tall and was a bald man, but he had a bushy beard that was forged out of thick black thunderclouds that danced along his chin. Various lines danced along his golden skin, pumping some sort of liquid that might have been lava. Where his stomach was, a clock seemed to have been built in. It was round and took up his entire belly, with various numbers running along it, as well as two clock hands. It ticked and showed the current time. A long white cloth wrapped around his lower half, and besides that, he had nothing else on, no shoes or armor or anything.

She had seen Legend once, but that had been when she was living through the memories Avalon shoved into her. His face appeared the same, save for the fact that it was made out of solid gold. His eyes were sunken in, and a thin line formed his mouth. His eyes were pure gold, and it was hard to tell what he was looking at. She didn't remember him being this big, but his powers likely changed when he became a Ruler. The old him could take on the aspects of god-like figures through ancient history that the Thaddeus clan had studied, which made him the second strongest hero at the time. He might still have those powers, and more; she really didn't know. The Emperor had gained new powers when he became a Ruler, gaining his shadowy movement, and Mr. Larison could seemingly open portals with his, from what she had heard, so it was likely that this version of Legend could do a lot more than the old him had once been able to.

Even from where she was standing, she could tell he was dangerous. Legend was a Calamity-level threat. That meant it would require nearly every Enforcer member just to deal with him. The Beast was the strongest Calamity, above the Emperor and Legend, and while she might have been able to beat it once, that required a lot of prep and effort from dozens of other heroes, not to mention the version she did beat had been reduced to a smaller size after its nonstop battles with Battery and the Victorian.

In other words, Legend was very, very powerful and could likely kill her if she wasn't careful.

"Full Monarch." Cinder felt a shiver go through her spine, and suddenly, she realized that the Ruler's eyes were on her. Legend's voice had drifted out, though his lips hadn't moved. "That's you, right? Full Monarch." Unlike the Beast, he could speak. He could think. He could plan. "How dare you. You shouldn't be here anymore." Legend's voice didn't change; it didn't fill with rage or anything like that, but she could tell it was spiteful and despised her. "I am number one, not you. Die."

He was gone.

She didn't blink, and she was sure she'd have seen him move, but one moment he was there, and then the next he wasn't. Was it some sort of teleportation or something? 'Dodge!' The Brightest Star was the only reason she didn't instantly die. She clutched tighter onto Cora and unleashed a wave of fire out of her feet, blasting herself sky-high just in time. The place she had been standing at tore apart as Legend appeared behind where she had been and slashed out with his hand in a lazy slap. Despite how weak it came out, the attack held a massive amount of force, and the very air itself exploded and rippled the ground below and the roof above, exploding as a shock wave was unleashed. 'Again, dodge!'

Once more, she boosted herself, kicking out with her foot and shooting herself to the left in midair, as Legend appeared behind where she had been. His slap narrowly missed her, and already he was gone again, appearing behind her to unleash another strong attack. It was only thanks to the Brightest Star, who kept warning her, that she was able to dodge them, dancing around Legend and keeping to the air with her fire.

"We're getting out of here." Cinder declared, and she dodged yet another strike and twisted her body, aiming her feet toward the roof. Her arms were still wrapped around Cora, holding the girl closely, so she focused all her powers into the base of her foot and fired out a beam of flame that pierced the roof above. She didn't hold back, using her body to shield Cora as the beam shattered the roof and the castle above, revealing the sky of the false world. She flew up and blasted through the hole, getting out of the cave and the enclosed space, but she was forced to dodge again as Legend appeared in front of her. She twisted out of the way of his strike and struck out with her leg, ramming it into his side as hard as she could. "Ow!"

He might have looked like he was made of gold, but whatever his actual form was, it was insanely hard, and her kick bounced off, doing nothing. It did make Legend stop for a moment, though.

"You've grown weaker, Full Monarch." Legend dropped out of the sky and crashed into the field below. She remained in the air and glared down at him as he looked back at her. His voice was slow and held no emotion. It reminded her a lot of the way Golden God would speak, which was fitting since Legend seemed to also now be some sort of golden robot. "Or maybe I've just gotten stronger. After all, I am number one."

"I'm not Full Monarch." She shouted out. "I'm Cinder!"

"I don't care what you call yourself." Legend held his palm up and pointed it toward her. "Die." She had seen this exact same attack before. It was the same method the Beast would use to fight. An orb of intense light and heat simply willed itself into existence and blasted out, lifting into the air and ramming toward her. She dodged out of the way of it, but the orb twisted midair and curved about to hit her and Cora. "I am number one."

"No!" She gasped and got ready to shield Cora. At the last moment, though, before the ball of light could ram into her, a beam of lightning stabbed down from the sky and pierced the orb, shattering it.

"Looks like you got your powers back." Cinder blinked and looked up, finding Lightning Empress was flying alongside her now. "Not only do you have them back, you've gotten a lot stronger. You're straight-up flying now with your fire."

"Lois!"

Lightning Empress gave a cheeky grin and winked before turning to look back at Legend. "I saw the Paths. I knew either you'd beat Wish and become the Lord again or you'd die. Nothing could change the outcome; the choices all had to fall on you to make. I'm glad it worked out, though. Though, if Wish had won, that guy wouldn't have gotten released."

"You knew he was going to come out, but you let it happen anyways?"

"It was either you become a Lord again, and we fight Legend, or Legend stays sealed, and Wish becomes the Lord of the Sun. Personally, I think this outcome is better." Lightning Empress smirked. "After all, we're planning on taking this bastard down eventually, so we might as well do it now. Oh, but you should know, I can't read his Paths, so I have no clue what'll happen, and the future is split due to all the choices that haven't been made yet, so either we win or we lose; I honestly don't know how any of this will go."

"Y- You two can beat that guy, right?" Cora squeaked out.

Cinder and Lightning Empress both shared a look. "We're certainly going to try." They both finally said.

Down below, Legend stared at the three of them and didn't react. It was impossible to tell, but Lois could feel his eyes on her. "Max Lightning?" His response caused Lightning Empress's smug smile to fade. "You're here also?" The Ruler didn't hum or make any outward note, but his hands did ball into a fist. "That's good. I can take you both down at the same time. Bring out Sini and Nier as well. All four of you heroes, I'll take you all out and claim my place at the top where I belong. I am number one."

"Max Lightning." Lightning Empress spat the name out, her look going a bit sour. "Yeah, you seriously just pissed me off." The Lord of the Sky waved her hand, and the wind around Cora twisted, forming into a bubble, which forced its way out of Cinder's arms. "I'm going to place you in a place that's safe and away from all of this. We can't be holding back when faced with someone like this, so be a good girl and chill out, Matrix."

"Matrix?" Cora asked, confused.

"Oh, do you not have that name yet? My bad, don't worry about it." Lightning Empress flicked her hand out, and the bubble of air blasted off, getting further and further away, taking Cora far, far away from the battlefield. Once the girl was out of the blast zone and on the other side of the realm, Lightning Empress nodded. "You ready?"

"Yeah." Cinder felt a small smile tug its way onto her lips. "This feels a bit like old times, doesn't it? Like the time you and I teamed up against that buzzsaw-faced guy."

"Though back then, I wasn't very strong." Lightning Empress giggled. "Who knows, I might be even stronger than you now."

"Maybe." Cinder nodded, and her smile faded. "Sorry for hitting you. I still haven't forgiven you fully for what happened and you not saying anything, but... Sorry. You're one of the few friends I have left, Lois. I don't want to lose you."

Lightning Empress finally gave a real smile, not the fake one that had constantly been plastered on her face. She placed a hand on Cinder's head and nodded. "I'll make it up to you after this is over. You can come to Myth's and my wedding."

"You're marrying Myth!"

"Spoilers-"

Cinder and Lightning Empress both dodged back, separating as the spot between them suddenly became filled. Legend got tired of waiting and appeared where they had been. He struck out with his hands, slapping at the air in both of their directions. As the two of them dodged him, he held his palms out toward them and launched another wave of energy that began to track and follow them. Lightning Empress casually destroyed her orb, raining down another bolt of thunder, but Cinder dropped from the skies and narrowly dodged hers, causing it to smash into the ground. The spot it hit suddenly turned a dark gray, and she watched with wide eyes as the ground morphed into solid stone, much like Fable had done once in the battle with the Beast.

"Come." Legend folded his arms and floated in the air, not even bothering to look at either of them. "I'll defeat you both. I am number one."

"Can you stop saying that?" Cinder sighed. "Number one what? Number one asshole, number one golden guy, number one villain about to get their butt handed to them?"

Legend's arms flexed out even further as he made no effort to defend himself. "I am number one. Number one in the universe."

"Don't get cocky, big guy." Lightning Empress used the wind to carry herself, and she blasted toward Legend, kicking out with a sharp blade of lightning. Her attack missed, though, as the Ruler appeared behind her. Lightning Empress formed a wind barrier around herself just in time as Legend's palm rammed into her stomach. The Lord of the Sky was sent crashing down and rammed into the ground back first, letting out a loud gasp. Lightning Empress fired her arm out, and lightning formed into a whip that wrapped around Legend's ankle, and the Lord tried to use her strength to drag the Ruler out of the sky, but it didn't even budge him. Instead, Legend kicked out, unleashing a powerful shock wave that blew the ground apart and shoved Lightning Empress deeper into the ground.

"Lois!" Cinder launched a fireball at Legend, but he punched right through it and appeared in front of her in an instant, unleashing a devastating downward punch. She lifted her arms up and blocked the strike, and luckily for her, she had landed on the ground so she was able to brace herself. Pain flared through her as his fist easily began to tear its way past her guard, but she stood her guard and fought back, letting out a loud yell. Her hair ignited, becoming the color of the sun and her eyes lit up with a fiery red color, and she shoved Legend's arm off of her and rammed her fist into his stomach as hard as she could. This time her blow actually managed to shift Legend back a bit. "Man, I've seriously missed this!" It was also thanks to her Lord form that her head wasn't blown clean off when Legend casually backhanded her and sent her flying back.

Lightning Empress came flying out of the ground behind Legend and rammed her leg into his side, catching him off guard. Wind and lightning jutted out of her foot, and she tried to split the machine in two, but he proved too durable, and her attack was only able to slightly dent him. The next thing she knew, Lois was kicking the empty air as Legend appeared above her and smashed his foot down into her back, smashing her into the ground again. He was about to bring his foot down on the girl's head and pop it, but a massive disk of fire surged forward. Legend finally opened his mouth and caught the disk in it like a dog catching a frisbee. The fire faded out, and Cinder came in fast, smashing herself into him and shoving him off of Lois.

Legend vanished and reappeared several dozen meters away and built up speed, launching toward her manually this time. He struck out with his fist, trying to punch her as hard as he could, and she lifted her arms out, creating something out of fire. Legend's fist stopped, mere inches away from her newly created construct, and he cocked his head to the side. "What is this? I am number one, and I demand you tell me."

"Introducing Baggy." Cinder managed to give a smirk. In between her arms was a large backpack forged entirely out of fire who had arms and legs. The backpack flexed slightly and then shoved its way out of Cinder's arms and jumped onto the face of Legend, who was caught off guard by the strange object. "He will be missed." Cinder jumped back as the backpack lit up and exploded in a massive fireball.

'I cannot believe that out of all your attacks, the backpack actually landed.' The Brightest Star let out a disappointed sigh.

"Backpacks rule-" Legend's fist rammed into her stomach as he hit her with an uppercut, cutting off what she had been about to explain. She felt some of her ribs crack, and she let out a pained gasp, her eyes going wide. Despite the pain, though, she fought through it and unleashed a wave of fire directly into Legend's eyes. His golden flesh was still unharmed, but her attacks were having a very, very, very small effect on him, it seemed. She pulled herself off of his fist and smashed an elbow into his neck, but that did more damage to her than it did to him.

Legend went to grab her by the face, but Lightning Empress reappeared in the fight and smashed her palm into Legend's stomach, unleashing a thick beam of energy that caused a bit of the villain's stomach to shift into a nasty black. Legend smacked out again, and Lightning Empress barely dodged the strike. While she did that, Cinder pulled her sword from its sheath and wrapped it up in fire and sliced out with it, ramming it into Legend's arm. She wanted to cut the limb off, but Legend just bent his elbow and trapped the blade between it. He yanked his arm back and ripped the sword from her grasp and then chucked it into the air, launching it into space.

"My sword! You bastard!"

Legend flexed his arms out, and the light around him blasted out, forming into hundreds of orbs that filled the air and began to turn everything they touched into stone. Cinder and Lightning Empress flew back, using wind and fire to blow several of the orbs out of the sky. While they did that, Legend once again vanished, only this time, he reappeared dozens of meters away from them and calmly began to look at the burn mark he had on his stomach. It was placed directly over the clock, which had now cracked a little. Using the brief chance they had, Lightning Empress twirled around and formed a jagged tornado that blew through the remaining orbs, shattering them all.

"What's his deal?" Lightning Empress questioned as she eyed Legend up. "Is he injured?"

"If he is, it isn't by much. Especially compared to both of us." Cinder winced. They had only taken a few hits, yet the two of them weren't in the best condition, having several bruises and bloodied lips. Legend's body was hard, and his punches hurt almost as badly as the Beast's had. She had hoped her first battle with her full strength back would be against someone weak so she could casually demolish them, but it seemed that, like usual, luck wasn't going to be on her side. "That teleportation he does is annoying. He appears right before he strikes, making it hard to dodge."

"It's not teleportation." Lightning Empress shook her head. "Teleporting requires bending and twisting the Paths so that a person can get from point A to point B in an instant. He's not doing that, though."

"So time stop then?"

"No. He's not stopping time either." Lightning Empress frowned and studied Legend. "I don't know how he's doing it, but he isn't actually teleporting or moving when time is still. It'd be really helpful if I could just read his Paths."

"To think you two are here fighting Legend already!" A new voice called out, causing Cinder to groan. It was one she recognized. From the remains of the castle, sitting on the ledge, staring down at them was Harrison Avalon. The scientist had one of those smug grins on his face and waved his hand out. "Yo! How are you doing, Legend?"

Legend craned his head up and looked up at Avalon. "Avalon? Did you come to die as well? Now that I am number one?"

"No, no, no!" Avalon shook his arms and chuckled. "I'm not here to die. Remember that talk you had with Nier?"

"Nier? No. I didn't meet Nier." Legend's lips didn't budge, but it seemed as if he would be frowning right about now.

"Sure you did; you just didn't recognize him since he wasn't the Lord of the Land and Life anymore." Avalon dropped from the castle, and despite its fall, he landed on the balls of his feet as if nothing happened and began to walk toward the trio with his hands in his pockets. "You know what you're supposed to do."

"Don't get in my way." Legend shook his head. "I am number one."

Avalon let out another snort and then dodged to the side as Cinder launched a ball of fire his way. "Whoa, I'm on your side, crazy chick."

"Like I'm going to believe that!" She yelled and tried punching him, but he was shockingly fast.

"Seriously." Avalon chuckled. "We need that guy dead." He pointed a thumb at Legend.

"I am number one."

Avalon turned to look back at Legend and folded his arms. "We had him bound in a ritual. His head is all screwed up, as you might have guessed. We told him he'd be number one if he stayed put, but that wasn't good enough. He demanded the sacrifice of the strongest Super that existed for that year in order to remain held in place. We really didn't want him to get involved in the game, at least not yet, since, unlike the Emperor and Lucifer, he isn't technically part of the Murder Games. We just needed access to his realm so we could gather all the pieces and lay the groundwork for everything. Now he's going on a rampage, though. So I'm here to help." Avalon smirked. "Together, the three of us will-"

Cinder grabbed Avalon by the arm and casually chucked the man into outer space, sending him blasting past the clouds. "Yeah, absolutely not. I am not, for a second, working with you. If you want to make yourself useful, then get my sword."

Lightning Empress blinked, a little taken aback, and stared up into the fake space of the realm they were in. "Can Avalon survive in deep space?"

"God, I hope not."

"Should we have maybe gotten his help, though? I mean, this is a Calamity, after all?"

"I am not working with him," Cinder said sternly.

"Okay?"

"I am number one." Legend took a step forward. "Die." He appeared between them again, and the two of them separated. Lois kicked out as hard as she could, ramming a foot into Legend's side, while Cinder pulled her arms back and focused her powers into her elbows. She struck out with her fists, ramming them into the clock symbol on Legend's body, or at least she tried to, but he caught both of her hands with one of his. He began to squeeze, causing her to wince, but she didn't stop and forced herself forward. Through the entire fight, he hadn't bothered to defend or block any attack properly, simply dodging or letting them hit him, until now, directly after Lightning Empress had left a mark on his clock. Gritting her teeth, Cinder smashed her head directly into the clock. "How dare you." Legend said, still in a flat tone.

The Ruler dropped her and punched out, smashing a fist directly into her face and sending her flying through the ground, burying her beneath a layer of rubble. It did the trick, though, and Lightning Emporess was able to figure out the plan and struck out at the injured clock. The Lord wrapped her fingers around one of the clock's hands, and she pulled back, ripping it off. Legend grabbed at his stomach for a moment before smashing his elbow directly into Lightning Empress's face. Lightning Empress was launched across the field and sent flying, losing a few teeth as well, but before Legend could do his weird instant-movement ability, the ground beneath him exploded with a wave of fire as Cinder came flying out of it and wrapped her arms around him.

Cinder let out a loud yell and forcefully lifted Legend, picking him up. Her hands burned with an intense heat, and she rammed them directly into the clock on his stomach, burning through the second hand and scorching some of the numbers. Legend vanished from her grasp and reappeared next to her, striking out with a punch, but she had been ready for it and punched him right back in the gut. She took way more damage, though, her lips exploding with blood and her neck nearly snapping. She dropped to her knees, breathing heavily, and looked up as Legend smashed his fist down toward her. "Time kills." She managed to get out.

Lightning Empress rapidly flew forward and impaled the clock hand she had ripped off earlier directly into Legend's stomach, piercing the blackened and destroyed clock that was built into him. Legend finally stopped and let out a grunt, seemingly in pain, and Lois twisted the clock, slicing him open. Legend forced himself back, ripping himself off of the blade, and Cinder punched out, landing her punch into the opening Lois made for her, her hands flaring with fire. Before she could unleash a wave of fire, though, Legend appeared several meters away from her and covered his wound with his arm.

"Don't get cocky. I'm still number one. You can't hurt my skin, and I'll just not move my arm." The villain stated in a blunt tone.

Cinder giggled and pointed at his stomach. "I left you a present."

Legend tore his arm away and craned his head down, staring into the opening of his stomach. His organs were all made of gold as well and covered in dozens of those clock-like symbols that all ticked. Also within his stomach, chilling next to a few of his important organs, was a backpack made of fire. Baggy flexed.

"I am number one!"

The backpack exploded in a massive fireball, filling Legend's insides with fire. The force of the attack easily ripped Legend in half, blowing his top half off of his lower half, and sent him smashing to the ground. No blood or anything like that flowed, and Legend barely reacted to the fact he no longer had legs. His arms had been either fully torn off or nearly melted off from the flames that scorched through his insides, and he remained on the ground, turning his head to look at them.

"He survived that?" Lois said, shocked.

"He's like Mr. Larison." Cinder nodded. "He can take one hell of a beating. Good."

"Good?"

"We don't want to kill him. Remember, he's a Ruler." Cinder pointed out and casually rubbed some of the blood away from her mouth. "I held back my explosion so he wouldn't be blown all the way up and die. If he dies, he'll just heal and pop back up."

"That's true." Lois sighed and nodded. "I forgot about that. Guess it's a good idea to leave him as half a person then. I doubt he can do much now."

"I am number one." Legend looked at them, and then his lips twisted into a smile. He finally showed some emotion on his face. "I am number two."

"What-"

Legend's head exploded as a foot stepped directly onto it and shattered it to pieces. Hope and Lois felt their eyes go wide, and they stared in shock at Legend? Standing on Legend's corpse's was another Legend. The gold man folded his arms and casually stepped off of the dead version of himself. He was perfectly fine, not an ounce of damage on his skin, and he casually toyed with the clock-like symbol on his stomach. "I am number one."

"He can clone himself?" Cinder said in shock.

'Look out!'

Legend appeared between her and Lois and struck out with insane speed. The villain's fist rammed through Lois, his hand stabbing her and causing the Lord of the Sky to gasp. "Lois!" Hope cried out, but Legend casually threw the girl off of his hand and turned to face her. She launched out a wave of fire directly at him, but he reached through the fire and grabbed her by the head. Holding onto her, he lifted her off of the ground, and then the two of them vanished and reappeared next to the first Legend's corpse. He smashed her head first into her corpse, using the body's insane durability to thrash her skull around over and over again. "Get off of me!" Cinder unleashed a wave of fire out of her mouth and shoved the hand off of her.

Legend slid back a bit and used his palm to block the strike. His other arm grabbed the other Legend's corpse and swung it out, using it as a flail and smashing it into her body. She groaned as she crashed to the floor.

"I am number one."

"That's getting really old-" Legend kicked her as hard as he could, throwing her back across the battlefield where she crash-landed next to Lois. "Ow."

Lightning Empress gave a weak chuckle and held her stomach. "Damn it, I forgot how bullshit some powers are. This guy is insane."

"Tell me about it. It's like fighting another Beast, only we don't have any help." Cinder forced herself to stand back up and helped the other Lord stand as well. "Think we can take him out the same way we did the last one?"

"Maybe. He could just make another one of himself appear, though, if that's part of his powers." Lois shrugged. "The last one is staying dead and not recovering, despite being a Ruler, so maybe these aren't actually the real Legend?"

"Huh, that seems familiar." Cinder narrowed her eyes. Was this like the golem situation all over again? If it was, she still had no idea where the real Legend was, and she doubted she could just leave Lois to fight him alone while she went looking for it.

Thankfully, she never had to.

"I am number one." Legend charged forward, about to strike at both of them, but suddenly stopped and looked up. She followed his gaze and watched with wide eyes as a massive crack appeared in the air. It grew larger and began to shake, and then a moment later, a massive golden greatsword blasted through the crack, narrowly missing Legend, who dodged out of the way of the attack.

Luck was finally back on her side.

From the crack, the Victorian slowly floated down and folded her arms. "Hey, Legend. It's been a while."

Team Victorian had arrived.
