Ezekiel strode toward Adeline as he noticed her eyelids fluttering. Her breath hitched, and slowly, hesitantly, she pried her eyes open. A moment of confusion passed before they widened in alarm, and she shot upright.
"WHAT HAPPENED?! IS EVERYONE OKAY?!" she nearly screamed, her frantic gaze darting around. Her chest rose and fell in uneven gasps until Ezekiel placed a firm yet gentle hand on her shoulder.
"Calm down," he sighed, squeezing lightly. "Everyone's fine," he reassured, gesturing toward Mila, still unconscious but stable, and then to Sebastian, who was rummaging through Mila's bag, already munching on some dried peaches.
"Mila's alive, don't worry," Sebastian added nonchalantly, waving a peach slice in the air before popping it into his mouth. "Want some?"
Adeline hesitated, still processing everything, before shaking her head. "W-Where's Sil and West?"
Ezekiel and Sebastian exchanged a look before simultaneously shrugging.
