Chapter 1 - "Sometimes I wonder, why was I born?"

"Hey, come on Kai, wake up!"

"Ugh, I'm up..." Kay mumbed as he dat up in his bed.

"Oh, damn!" Kai was immediately flashbanhed upon opening his eyes, as his father, Han, had already turned on the lights.

"Hurry up, you can't be late..." His rather said, walking out the door.

Kai sighed and got out of bed, then he stretched, and popped his back.

After lazily putting on his clothes and grabbing his books, he was ready for school.

In a world of meritocracy, Kai was pretty much screwed from the start, as he had no bloodline. He knew this because there were no runes inscribed along his chest and arms, which appears on every awakened individual. As such, he was constantly looked now upon. Treated like trash, garbage, a waste of oxygen and space.

This, of course, made way for depression.

This was reasonable, as explained earlier.

'Time to start a new shitty day...' Kai inwardly thought as we walked out the door. The refreshing petrichor temporarily distracted him from reality as he walked to school. He lived quite close to the academy, so this was common. Kai's plan was simple:

Go to school, learn, leave school as soon as possible.

This ensured the most safety for him as he went about his daily life.

He nearly stumbled on a rock as he entered the school.

He rushed to his first class-Bloodline exploration, which was pretty much this world's physical education.

This class was useless to him, but he had to be present if he didn't want to fail his class.

As he walked past the lockers, he felt the gazes upon him, sneering, mockery. No admiration or awe, not for someone like Kai. Ordinary individuals were usually slaves, however, due to his father's authority, he was able to get an education at this academy. As such, everybody thought of him as a spoiled-rotten peice of spoiled trash. While Kai was used to this behavior, it didn't stop him from remembering how useless he was.

"Sometimes I wonder, why was I born?" Kai mournfully inquired.

Upon finally arriving at his class, he pulled put his notebook, writing down what everybody's abilities were. This was so he could attempt to find a way to exploit any weakness he may find if they wanted to anything uncouth. He knew this was merely just to keep himself busy on class, as regular humans and awakened individuals were yin and yang.

Time passed slow, and he finished the class. He found weaknesses in almost every bloodline-except for one specific student. Her name was Katara. She was the daughter to a noble and influential family called the Farrings. She was revered among the students, as she acquired a powerful bloodline technique- telekinesis. She was of course the ice queen and the most popular girl at the academy. Kai was considered lucky to be in her class.

Kai continued to pass the classes as fast as possible. As the last 15 minutes of his class ended, he couldn't help but crack a slight grin, which quickly turned in to a frown after remembering that he would have to walk back home.

'Finally, hell's over, I can head home now.' Kai thought as he proceeded to grab his notebook and quickly headed out the school door.

On his way home, some kid used his friction manipulation to make Kai repeatedly slip. While some bloodlines may seem useless or lame, it mostly doesn't matter. Awakened have insanely improved physical prowess. Regular awakened can lift a Benz with one hand. Because of this, while they might be slightly weaker than other awakened, compared to ordinary humans, non-awakened pale in comparison.

Kai developed some scratches, and bruises after the repeated falling

After finally reaching his home, he reached down and grabbed the door know.

The door opened, but, instead of his well-ishly organized house, he was greeted by something completely different.

Vases broken on the ground.

Pianos shattered, along with much more furniture destroyed.

'What the hell happened here?' Kai thought as his eyes widened in shock staring at the scene in front of him. Then, a smell pierced his nostril, a metallic smell.

'Oh shit'

'Oh shit'

'Oh shit'

'Oh shit'

'Oh shit'

'Oh shit'

Kai knew what this meant- there was blood somewhere, nothing in his room, in the laundry room, or in the garden.

The last place he checked was the kitchen.

"Huurgh" Kai immediately gagged and threw up at the scene.

His father was slumped beneath the counter, a knife burrowed in his throat. A note on his chest that read:

"I hate your privilege, you don't deserve any of this."

-Someone better than you

After being stupefied for about one minute trying to process what happened, his knees buckled, which he proceeded to fall on.

"No."

"No!"

"NOOOOOO!"

"WHY? WHY THE HELL DID THIS HAPPEN?!"

"WHO DID THIS?!"

Kai flew into a rage of anger and confusion.

He screamed.

He screamed louder.

And louder.

Until his mouth and eyes bled.

He scratched through most of the polished oak floor beneath his knees.

Kai let out one more soul-piercing screech.

Suddenly, his calmed down completely.

He started floating, rising above the corpse of his dad. His eyes and mouth glowing with a blue and red hue. Then, he gracefully floated back down to the floor, passing out.

"Agh, what time is it?"

Kai woke up with a headache.

"What happened?"

He opened his eyes once again, revealing the corpse of his father.

"I guess I have a mission now..." Kai said, while cracking a wide devious grin.

He easily got up from the ground.

'What the hell? I knew I threw up but I don't think my body was always this light.' Kai noticed a big difference in how his body felt.

He lifted his shirt, revealing a taut and robust physique.

Well toned and defined six pack abs layered his stomach.

"What the hell?" Kai immediately yelled after seeing this new body.

He responded by rushing to the bathroom.

While the mirror was cracked, it wasn't completely shattered.

"Damn..."
