Minor's avatar rushed forward with spear in hand, the divine entity travelled the 20 metres separating them in just a moment, raising an impenetrable plume of dust and stone chips behind it. But Bondrewd was ready, the man drew his sword and took a stabbing blow to the blade, deflecting it upwards.
The opponents' weapons clashed, knocking out a pillar of sparks and a powerful shockwave that instantly travelled across the room, knocking plaster off the walls. Taking advantage of the second pause, Bondrewd grabbed the avatar by the collar of his armour and pulled him up to his face, the purple visor on his helmet was literally ablaze with energy, a bright flash and hundreds of superhot beams struck the god's body at point blank range, scorching the air.
Lord of Dawn, broke the distance and tried to see something, in the impenetrable smoke, there was no enemy, and the sense of danger kept screaming danger.
- Behind! - shouted the system assistant, the man managed to turn his head a couple of degrees, the spear was already a few centimetres away from his face, the Lord of the Dawn more instinctively than reasonably, crouched down trying to miss the blow above his head, The spear managed to catch only the top edge of his helmet and that was enough for him, Minor's strength was monstrous and Bondrewd flew off into the wall, but the avatar was not going to give him a chance to escape, and sent a beam of divine energy after him.
"If his blow had been on target, I'd be dead for sure," the thought flashed through Bondrewd's mind, his neck was broken, but homunculus biology could heal more than that, the man dodged the second attack by moving away. The man dodged the second attack, stepping aside, and began to close the distance, jumping out of the dust cloud like a devil out of a snuffbox and delivering a chopping blow from above. Minor was expecting it, and had no trouble parrying the Lord's blow. But the attack had just begun, and hundreds of black, blade-sharp tentacles reached out from beneath his cloak, as Bondrewd mentally thanked Auditha for his ability and continued his assault.
He was outmatched in speed and strength, but Bondrewd was chasing Minor around the room with hundreds of blows. The avatar chopped the tentacles like a farmer cutting grass, but new ones immediately grew in the place of the cut down.
"You won't last that long!" the aide wailed in panic, his squeal drowning out the sounds of battle.
"I was only probing him, we'll soon be done." Bondrewd answered him briefly, dodging another divine ray. After such a battle, the whole temple should be in ruins, but the walls were cracked, crumbling, but still standing.
Bondrewd seized the moment, and once again got into close hand-to-hand contact, the tentacles chasing Minor backwards, he could only fight back with sweeping attacks that cut down the tentacles by the hundreds. He took another step backwards and his back hit the wall, the tentacles grabbed his legs, Minor chopped at them like a madman but those seconds were enough, the Sparagmos was already glowing with a small fire, Bondrewd raised his hand and fired, a huge wave of energy rushed forward destroying everything in its path.
The wall behind Minor's back, to the Dawn Lord's surprise, withstood the impact, and since the shockwave had nowhere to go, it bounced back, throwing Bondrewd backwards.
The man stood up and looked forward, a slightly burned and quite alive avatar stood against the wall, the armour was missing its right shoulder pad and the rest of the armour was charred, but nothing else.
"Haahaha, you really thought you could handle a real god in his domain, you idiot," the avatar paused theatrically and continued." I admit you made me run, you have talent and ability, it's a pity you took your chance so ignorantly, now die! Minor snapped his fingers and with the sea of light that had been splashing on the ceiling all this time, remembered gravity and collapsed downwards.
Bondrewd was no longer paying attention to his sixth sense. The man looked up to the rapidly approaching glowing mass. It did not bode well for him.
"Is this really the end?" The system assistant asked in panic.
"No!" Lord Dawn shouted loudly, as if trying to argue with the system. He raised his hand up, and his glove was once again flooded with light. The sea of light had almost reached the floor and the Sparagmos fired again, a glowing beam of energy burst into the ocean of light, dispersing it like a torch, the light burning in the flames of the Abyss artefact.
The remnants of the sea flowed down the walls of the room, accumulating in the corners and disappearing without a trace. - How dare you, you insolent mortal! - An avatar with a spear was flying towards Lord at full speed, barely touching the floor. Bondrewd turned silently in his direction, and at the right moment, with a kick of his foot he diverted the stabbing blow of the spear into the floor, and counterattacked in the head. The blade entered the space between the helmet and the armour, the blade cut through the divine flesh easily, too easily.
The helmet flew aside and vaporised along with the armour, leaving behind some glowing dust.
"Which one?" Bondrewd and his system dummy shouted synchronously. But it was too late, the homunculus already felt the sharp tip of the spear begin to enter his body from behind, it was too late to dodge, but Bondrewd wouldn't be himself if he didn't try.
He realised where the blow was coming from, and with a spurt of effort he darted in the opposite direction, falling on his stomach, the homunculus got off lightly, the spear only severing his back, but not his internal organs.
Bondrewd only turned on his back as a massive boot fell on his neck. Minor stood right on his neck, not allowing him to move. - What a shame, remember for the next life Bondrewd, a mortal can never defeat a god, you....
Before he could finish his final speech, Minor. A powerful explosion pierced the protective shell of his domain, throwing it aside. Through the newly formed hole, a black-haired girl wearing a wide brimmed hat entered the room. Bondrewd had seen her before - the head of the mages' guild, Mira of Finland. The girl quickly orientated herself, and after finding Bondrewd with her eyes, she teleported to him.
"Would you like to help me, lord?" The girl asked snidely, looking at the homunculus lying there.
"I will not refuse," the man got up and looked around for Minor, he was found quite quickly, in the corner the armour was leaning against the wall and wailing like a madman.
"You miserable wretches, how dare you desecrate my domain, you lowly swine!" With each word, his voice grew louder and louder, and his intonation was as mad as possible.
"Bondrewd we must leave, the passage is still open, we cannot defeat a god in his own domain, this place fuels him with its power."
"Fuelling it?" Bondrewd asked, a new crazy plan was already brewing in the man's mind,
"Thank you for your help, but I will stay, if I destroy this false idol, it will all be over at once. - Lord Dawn looked at the confused face of the girl, and grabbed her hand. - Help me, I need you to immobilise him, I can take it from here." Mira nodded fearfully, not because of the crazy plan, but because, the lord grabbed her arm.
"Bondrewd, it's not a fact that this is going to work, you need to leave!" Shouted the system assistant, but no one listened to him, man was determined to win.
The man grabbed the white whistle that had been hanging around his neck all this time, a quick glance at it gave the lord a strange feeling for a moment as if he was looking in a mirror, and it made sense after all the original him was that whistle. The man clutched it in his hand and it emitted a deafening whistle, not knowing what else to expect, Bondrewd raised the Sparagmos again and fired at the avatar still leaning against the wall, a wave of unbridled energy hit the target and triggered a huge explosion, the shockwave that nearly knocked Bondrewd off his feet, Mira was swept backwards. The smoke cleared.
The Avatar and the Lord of Dawn synchronously rushed towards each other, the fight was entering its final phase and everyone wanted to give their best: blades clashed in a quick exchange of blows, Bondrewd, there was no dominant in the fight, Lord of Dawn was pressing Minor, or vice versa. The Avatar abruptly broke the distance and fired a divine ray, the homunculus responded with a scattering of violet rays, the energy flows collided and in an unsuccessful attempt to overcome each other, provoked another explosion.
Bondrewd flew backwards, the avatar jumped out to meet him and slammed him into the wall, the Lord's body left a huge crater on the wall and rolled down, where Minor was already waiting for him. Having grouped himself in the air, the man jumped past the oncoming blow and with all his might flew into his face with both feet, the avatar bounced like a rubber ball and ploughed through 30 metres of stone floor, into the wall.
Minor struggled to get to his feet, his avatar had no time to recover and absorb mana from the domain, the charred armour looked up, the Lord of Dawn was hovering over him with a loaded Sparagmos, the explosion was monstrous, both were scattered across the room. But driven by anger and adrenaline, they rose and slowly walked towards each other.
"This homunculus is a monster, the god couldn't remember a time when he had fought an opponent with even a fraction of that kind of power."
"Patrons, I need your help," Minor whispered, shadows thickened around the avatar, they were so vivid and voluminous that they seemed about to rise to their full height and come to life, the floor cracked and red flames erupted, they moved towards Minor like a snake and the flames enveloped his avatar. The charred armour split open, and beneath it a new black as pitch armour appeared in the dark red flames. Red light poured out of the slit on his helmet, and the spear that had fallen into the flames melted and disappeared without a trace.
"Come, you miserable mortal, and you will know the wrath of your patrons!"
"I'm the retard here," taking advantage of the fact that Minor was distracted, Bondrewd went round behind him and shouted.
"Now!" Mira did not need to repeat twice, all the time while Lord Bondrewd was distracting the god of good, she was weaving a spell, standing in the centre of the magic circle, the most powerful one she knew, there was only one chance, and it came. Her eyes shone and a pair of long, snake-shaped lightning bolts flew out of her hands; they went under the stone floor and burst out under Minor's feet, enveloping him from head to toe, and giving him a heavy jolt of electricity.
Bondrewd grasped the avatar's arm, and fixing it, pulled a ring with a black stone from his pocket and placed it on the avatar's arm.
The monstrous aura abruptly disappeared, the armour cracked, through which there was nothing, and having received a blow from Bondrewd's fist, crumbled to the floor, revealing the body of a strange creature, it had four skinny black arms, a pair of rudimentary wings like a bat, it was dressed in a black and red robe, with a deep hood, in which there was no one. The creature lay on the floor, pinned down by the massive figure of Lord.
"What the fuck are you?"
