Chapter 146 - Chapter 6 | The School Day Begins

Father/ Benedict Uno

By the end of the talk he had with Miss Weber, he was amenable to letting her work certain hours of the day that did not interfere with her school work, plus potential after school clubs she had her eye on; it was fair to the well behaved young girl afterall, she needed to stay in school and keep her grades and attendance up.

Quite honestly, it was a bit of a unique experience interacting with her, as very rarely kids her age focus on academics and certain extra credits the school clubs offered to keep children busy and out of their parents' hair.

Currently, Benedict stood outside his door waving off Miss Weber, it was around noon, and she wanted to get back home to double check her homework, and that suited Benedict just fine; they hashed out most of the villain hours and assignments she would be working, any chances of her working during school hours would cost extra, which was fine with him.

He had enough evil children in school, besides his Delightful Children and the teachers there he has on payroll; if worse came to worse, Miss Weber would be his emergency contact to get the job done if the others failed…and from experience, Benedict had a feeling he'd have Miss Weber on speed dial…

As Benedict lowered his arm and headed back inside his Delightful Mansion, he closed the door behind him while being greeted to the sight of his Delightful Children standing up at the top of the stairs. As one, they all spoke calmly, "What was that all about father?" they all asked in chorus, as they walked down the stairs and conversed with him,

Benedict took out his pipe from his pocket and placed it in his mouth to puff from it once, before speaking as held his pipe out, "A new child villain under my employ, not sure if you know her or not from school though…" he answered with an inscrutable gaze directed at his delightful children.

Once the Delightful children reached the bottom of the stairs, they looked up at their father with a curious albeit unsure gaze, "That depends, Father, we see many pathetic looking children at school, and only a few are well behaved." They chorused, giving their father a respectful but dull tone of voice.

Benedict 'hm'ed' before speaking as he walked off towards his study, "It was Miss Weber, she was able to singlehandly dispatch the KND outside my property, unlike someone I know." he grouched at the last part of his words.

Realizing who Benedict was talking about, the Delightful Children looked up towards their father with some surprise, "Tanya Weber!?" They all said.

Without looking back at his Delightful Children, Benedict grunted a bit in affirmation, "Yes, so be nice to her and try to be friends with her, and you might learn something after so many failures on your part!" he spat back.

There was a pause in the air, before his children responded back as he headed up the stairs, "Yes Father." His Delightful Children Chorused.

Delightfulizing Sector Z was the best thing he did, they went from his rebellious adopted children, to well mannered and respectful…well, most of the time.

The Delightfulization made them almost unable to part from each other, making their combat effectiveness of their former selves terrible; so instead, they operated like him partially, sending other villains to do their work, while using combat vehicles of every manner to use as their combat method.

Delightful Children

As they watched Father leave the room up the stairs, they looked among themselves with uncertainty, with Bruce speaking first, the blonde hair shortest boy of the group, "This presents a problem…" he states in a monotone.

Alessandra spoke next, the blonde haired sister, as she stared down at her brother then at the rest of her siblings, "For good, or ill?" she posed the question.

Constance, the pig tailed haired girl of the siblings, spoke next while gazing back over at Alessandra, "We will have to see…"

David, the tallest brother, spoke a bit quietly and evenly, "But we do have real competition for Father's approval, Miss Weber has always been a model student at school." he explained, his eyes unseen with how his hair covered them.

Lenny spoke next and with a bit of a lisp, his helmet obscuring his face and metal retainer over his mouth, "It will be fine. She's just another stepping stone for Father's agenda, as much as we are. I say we befriend her!" he said, earning glares from his other siblings.

"Shut up Lenny!" The four chorused and glared at their brother. "The only thing we'll be doing is stealing her ideas, and plans! We don't need her helping us to earn father's approval!" They chastised their brother..

Lenny however looked back at his Delightfulized siblings, wishing they weren't as deligtfulized as he was, "I'm just pointing out what Father said, he wants us to befriend her." and hopefully learn more about her, so that he could pass the information on to the KND.

He made it this far as a mole, it was a miracle the delightfulization didn't fully work on him like the rest of his sector.

His other siblings rolled their eyes, and walked off, taking him with them in their synchronized ways, "Fine, but it doesn't mean we have to like it!" they all grouched as one, minus Lenny.

He was very glad they didn't use the restroom or bathe together, that delightfulization was already bad enough, he just hoped KND's brightest were still secretly working on the cure to this thing.

Afterall, the official story of Sector Z, was that they all disappeared/went missing, but in reality, all of them had been blasted with Father's Delightfulization machine, and became his Delightful Children. It was the deepest mole mission Lenny had ever undertaken, and it was the reason the many times they all failed in defeating Sector V.

He liked sabotaging all the efforts his siblings tried to defeat the KND. It was very amusing to see them flail around, even at the cost of being at the wrath of Father for failure.

Next Day, School Day

Tanya

Exiting out from her home with her book bag hanging off her shoulders with its straps, Tanya idly covered her mouth and yawned as she walked off down the concrete pathway leading from her house to the driveway. It was another early school morning, the dew on the grass was visible, and the birds were chirping. She was unable to get herself some coffee, as her parents drank most of it for work.

She was fine with no coffee though, she was a kid afterall and didn't need it to help wake her up mostly; Tanya just enjoyed the taste of the hot black liquid, even more so when the taste was present in chocolate candy. The chocolate flavor of this world was truly something to behold.

Instead wearing a suit to school like she would for work, and since it was nearing fall, Tanya went with wearing a green shortsleeved turtle neck with a simple pair of jeans; while her mother once asked if she wanted to wearing something more girly, Tanya insisted with wearing what felt comfortable to her.

It also helped that she was a well behaved child, so it helped that she was able to get away with dressing how she liked, as opposed to what her mother wanted.

The skirts and frilly stuff was for the more girly girls, Tanya wanted to look like she meant business, and girly, in her opinion, did not fit that bill. If she had the option, she'd put on a military uniform to emphasize the point…but she wasn't in the military in this life.

Of course, her mother acquiesced, and only mused she must be going through a tomboy phase now that she was nearing her teens, something about going through it herself once upon a time. Tanya just used that excuse, as the tomboy style was supposed to be 'in' for girls this era.

Or at least, that's what she thought.

As Tanya walked down the empty driveway and finally reached the curb of the road, she began heading for the Trainbus stop to wait for her ride to arrive; instead of using multiple buses to collect all the children for school, the travel to school was instead all done by one single vehicle that was done with a train designed with tires and school decals, pulling along with it train school cars.

Up at a cross walk and road section of her neighborhood, she was able to see that Valerie was already up there and waiting for her ride as well, among a few other non-notable children. "Valerie!" she hollered earning the girls attention, as Tanya finally it over while Valerie herself expressed a smile.

"Oh, Tanya, how was your homework over the weekend!?" Valerie asked, she girl had a bit of a poodle looking hairstyle, from which Tanya was reminded, the girl owns a poodle herself.

Once Tanya reached the bus stop, she stood beside Valerie and spoke with the girl in a candid tone and soft smile, "Most of it was easy, so I should be able to apply for the honor roll society by the end of this month!" She answered her friend.

It was a simple affair of becoming friends with Valerie last school year, the girl was very focused on getting good grades, which put her in Tanya's opinion as a prospective worker she might want to hire if Valerie put this much effort into her school work.

Valerie chuckled a bit as she smiled back at Tanya with some visible envy, "I've seen how difficult your math homework was last year, what are you expecting to accomplish with that much of an advancement in math?" she questioned, an earnest question from Valerie to Tanya, "I mean, not once have I seen you have a paper graded less than a ninety percent!" she added.

With a smirk, Tanya answered Valerie with an idle gesture of her hand through the air, "Simple, really, in the world of economics, mathematics are everything! It is what helps adults gain money, and with money, they are able to buy anything they want." she answered.

While more kids were arriving at the bus stop, Tanya and Valerie continued to chat, "So realistically, when two parents work, the household brings in more money, it fuels our stores, it is what allows our parents to buy us toys, if you want to get more simple about it." Tanya further explained with a simple gaze back at Valerie.

"Huh…" Valerie mused while thumbing at her chin, "Sounds intense, but makes sense…mom and dad do work everyday afterall. I've always thought work was just something boring." she said, earning a hapless shrug from Tanya.

"It can be, it depends on the job. It's why my father enjoys his work, he brought his business from the ground up, and now he's successful in life!" Tanya explained a prideful smirk.

Valerie blinked at that, and smiled, "Huh, so if we create our own business as adults, we can be happy, and not miserable?" she asked keenly.

Tanya shook her head, and looked back at her friend with an uncertain gaze, "It's complicated to start a business in the first place, but this is America afterall, the land of opportunity, we are fortunate to live here at all, where someone from a humble beginning can one day own a franchise that can exist across the globe!" Tanya explained with a surefire grin.

"Oh, like Pizza Cab!" Valerie pointed out with a look of realization, earning a nod from Tanya

"Exactly!" Tanya answered with a small smile, Pizza Cab of course from what Tanya had observed, was this world's Pizza Hut. She wasn't sure if Valerie was able to follow the conversation that well, but she was a bright eyed student, and attended last school year's honor roll society program, so the girl had at least a good head on her shoulders.

It wasn't long before the sound of their SchoolTrain arriving from around the street, and before long, Tanya, Valerie and everyone else watched as the school's trainbus turned around a street corner, pulling with it the school cars it tugged with the train at the front.

Numbuh 5 and 4

Numbuh 5 had to pull back Numbuh 4 from charging at that evil girl Tanya once they made it just in time for the school train; she was in the midst of talking with Valerie, Numbuh 5's classmate on weird matters about money.

"Come on, Numbuh 5! I can take her down right now!" Numbuh 4 grouched as he struggled to pull against the grip Numbuh 5 had on his hoodie, he glared at the evil girl's back as she conversed with that poodle hair looking girl.

Numbuh 5 on the other hand finally yanked Numbuh 4 back and lightly slapped him upside the head, "You remember what the Supreme Leader said, cease fire until we can figure out what to do with her!" she chastised Numbuh 4, while he rubbed his head and grumbled.

"...tch, whatever…not gonna like it though…" Numbuh 4 muttered with an annoyed tone, and kept his glare pointed at the back of the evil girl.

As the School Train Buss finally reached a hissing halt of its train engine, the train car meant for them opened up, allowing everyone to start filling in their assigned car and seats inside it; that Valerie girl went in first, with Tanya going in next, the girl herself momentarily looked over her shoulder back at them with an inquisitive and sharp look in her eyes, before looking back forward as she walked into the train care with Valerie.

While Numbuh 5 and 4 walked from the back of the line of kids into the train car, Numbuh 4 spoke up with an unsure tone, "You think she was looking at us?" he asked, with suspicion in his tone, "If so…" he punched his fists as he walked with his fellow operative, "I'm more than ready for round 7!" he said.

Numbuh 5 however rolled her eyes at Numbuh 4's terrible sense of anything related to academics, much less numbers, he could barely even spell his own number, "You faced her twice, Numbuh 4!" she shook her head at him.

As the two of them entered their assigned car, they reached for their assigned seat, while momentarily seeing that Tanya was seated in the back talking with Valerie who sat with her.

"Well that explains part of where Numbuh 5 remembers seeing that girl at school!" Numbuh 5 said as she sat down with Numbuh 4 in their seat, with Numbuh 4 standing up to peek over the backrest of his seat to glare at the girl from afar.

"Just look at her, all smug an stupid looking…" Numbuh 4 muttered as he looked at the girl from afar, before quickly ducking down to sit once that cruddy girl turned her head towards him, "I say, I should just beat her up during recess!" Numbuh 4 pounded his fist in his hand.

Numbuh 5 on the other hand shook her head and palmed her face, her friend was very dense, and on top of that, he didn't know when to stop when he lost to someone, especially if it was to a girl. "Whateva! Numbuh 5's not helping you with that in the slightest!" she spoke back.

Smirking to himself, Numbuh 4 chuckled with a smirk, "No worries," He peered at her through his bangs, and thumbed at himself, "I'll make sure this fifth time will make her pay for what she did the first time!" he assured her, only to make Numbuh 5 cringe at his counting.

"It would be the third time- oh forget it!" Numbuh 5 threw her hands up in exasperation, the School Train Bus in the meanwhile having been started back up and running to pick up the next batch of children for school.

The Delinquent Teens Gang

From atop a roadhill lined with houses, several dirt bikes, a few beater cars and one pickup truck were sitting in idle with their engines running; the teens that drove and rode the vehicles were watching the Train Bus from down below arrive at its next destination to pick up children for school.

Standing outside in the truck bed, Mick fiddled with the toothpick in his mouth, and smirked, "all right boys, let's give those kids a nice little…fun…" he smirked more evilly.

Like their leader Mick, the rest of the teens wore leather jackets and jeans, all of which were comically spiked like a biker gang.

At the command of Mick, every teen revved their vehicle up, before going into drive; Mick himself held onto the handle bars welded onto the top of his old truck as his vehicle was driven by his lackey.

Today's target of harassment via paintballs and smelly water balloons filled with rotten egg yolk, were children; Mick's gang operandi would always scour the town to raise chaos, and part of the month, was making the morning terrible for those snotty brats!

Mick continued to smirk as he pounded his fist down against his truck's roof, "Faster! That train is already moving!" he shouted with the back window of the truck open, allowing his teen lackey inside driving the vehicle to hollered back at him with a 'sure thing boss' by his lackey.

With a vile grin, Mick imagined to himself of the crybabies he was about to make out of those children, he might even give them an atomic quadruple overhang wedgie, he was feeling particularly evil and spiteful today.

Tanya

She had seen those two operatives after feeling she was being glared at as she was entering the School bus car, but she didn't bother raising any concerns about it. She was off the clock.

Tanya also momentarily saw that Australian boy peek over at her from the corner of her eye, while she was speaking with Valerie about her own homework, and again she didn't bother with the boy nor the girl with the red hat.

They were more than welcome to try something, but right now, she was not pressed to do anything about them during school hours at the moment.

"Hm…" Tanya mused as she looked at Valeria's own math homework, and nodded, "You have most answers right, you're just missing two answers that need correcting." She told her friend as she handed Valerie's homework back.

Accepting her paper back with a thankful smile, Valerie spoke, "Well I did triple check my homework, but it honestly did feel like one or two of them were wrong."

Valerie looked back at her with a hopeful gaze, "Can you tell me which problems, I mean, without the answers to them of course." she smiled.

Tanya nodded and answered while pointing over at her paper in her hands, "Problems number eight and ten, but that's as far as I'll go. You won't get anywhere far if you have other people do your work." she answered, earning an appreciative smile from Valerie.

"Right!" Valerie nodded as she pulled her pencil out, and began checking her work, "Let's see…" she murmured.

While Valerie was busy going over her work, Tanya narrowed her eyes as the sound of incoming motors from bikes and other vehicles approached their train bus. Of course the morning wouldn't be any less than eventful.
