Gallagher Elementary
Assembling into the gym for P.E. was a simple matter, and currently, the roster of kids that attended other than Tanya herself were plenty of others, including Wallabee and the asian KND operative she soon found out the name to be Kuki; the sole reason she was able to glean more information about their names, was the fact their original gym coach was out, and the current Substitute coach was filling in for him.
While Wallabee and Kuki stood at the far end of the crowd of kids, Tanya was at the other end as everyone stood in a line in front of their substitute gym coach, who wore a tracksuit of purple and blue; Not far from Tanya, the Delightful Children stood amongst the children, grumbling as their doctor's note that was supposed to exempt them from Gym class, had the substitute gym teacher yell into their faces that she knew a fake doctor's note from a real doctors note.
Of course, the Gym Teacher that was filling as the substitute teacher for the class, was a woman named Lin Chou, who looked like she was in her late forties. She had the typical strict asian mother look and tone as she was in the midst of explaining herself. "Now, don't think I don't know you kids can run, I know Americans, you eat, eat so much, time to use up all that energy you have!" she ranted while pacing back and forth, and raised her whistle up to her mouth to blow into it.
With a harsh whistle, she yelled, "Run, give me twenty laps, twenty laps around the gym, go, go now!" she yelled, giving everyone a stormy look.
That prompted most of everyone including Tanya to begin running laps around the gym, with the Delightful children lagging behind. While Tanya continued jogging around the gym, she saw out of the corner of her eyes that Miss Lin was chasing after the Delightful Children to make them run faster while using a whip of all things.
"Stop running together, it make you all run slower, split up now!" Miss Lin's face reddened with anger as she chased after the Delightful Children.
That actually made Tanya think of all the times she's seen the Delightful Children last week in school, of the sparse times she's seen them; not once had she seen the Delightful Children split up, it honestly made Tanya question if they did absolutely everything together bunched up like that.
"We can't!" The Delightful Children whined, as they were chased down by Miss Lin. "It's a condition!" They tried to reason, only for Miss Lin to continue chasing after them with her whip.
"Then run faster! No excuses! Beijing Olympic triplets run faster than you together. Pick up pace!" Miss Lin yelled some more as chased after the Delightfuls.
As Tanya continued to run with the rest of her classmates, she internally thought to herself that Miss Lin was quite the stereotypical asian parent/teacher...bumped up to eleven.
Wallabee and Kuki/ Numbuh 4 and 3
"What should we do, Wally?" Kuki asked with an unsure tone and worry, jogging beside her friend and KND operative as the two of them, "That substitute teacher is being a bit mean." she added.
While the two of them stayed jogging near the front of the crowd of classmates, Wallabee grunted while expressing a smirk, "I don't know, I think it's funny to see those Delightful Dorks get their lickings from the substitute teacher, makes it feel great to see them actually attend a gym class for once!" he answered, his tone of amusement, earning a slap on the back of his head by Kuki, "Ow!" he yelped.
While Kuki ran beside him, she spoke with Wallabee with a chiding tone, "I'm serious, Wally, We're the kids next door!" she pouted a bit at the end, earning an eyeroll from her friend.
"I know." He grouched back, as they were nearing their fifth lap, "Just let me enjoy this a bit!" He remarked with a smirk, "Besides, it's not like they had that sort of punishment coming!" he added.
"Hmm…" Kuki hummed in disapproval of Wallabee's words, but relented on the matter for now, "Well, what about Tanya? She's in our gym class now…" she asked.
"Who knows?" Wallabee said with a smirk, "If we're lucky, Miss Lin will have us play dodgeball, then I can really cut loose against that cruddy girl! No way she's good at Dodgeball!" He explained to Kuki.
"What's all the talking, no talking, more running!" Miss Lin yelled over at them from the center of the gym floor after she sufficiently made the Delightful Children catch up with the class. She pointed her rolled up whip out at Wally and Kuki with a furious face, "Beetles, Sanban! Explain now, what so important to talk about while jogging!" she yelled.
Kuki kept quiet, but Wallabee afforded him a bit of a smirk, "Um, yeah! There is!" He hollered over, giving Miss Lin a sideways glance as he jogged around the gym room, "Was talking about dodgeball!" he answered. Thinking that talking about a sport would keep him from getting in trouble with the substitute teacher.
Miss Lin however smirked cruelly at the subject matter of dodgeball having been Wally's subject he was talking about, "Oh, dodgeball, good subject, excellent choice of next activity, Beetles!"
"Uh…." Wallabee, while he enjoyed the sport of dodgeball, he didn't like the look Miss Lin was making.
Miss Lin brought her whip up and snapped it out into the air, "Class, by end of twenty laps, we play dodgeball, Beijing China style! Miss Lin show you how to dodge better than Americans!" she announced with an evil smirk.
Tanya
She was pretty sure Miss Lin was a very fresh immigrant from China, and while she didn't have a problem with that, it was a bit…off putting to say the least. The woman had definitely studied her English language enough, but her attitude towards Americans was still a bit competitive from her home country.
Now, after running a complete set of twenty laps, Tanya was still the least bit winded, much like the rest of the children, save for the more few portly kids that needed a better nutritional diet and more exercise; then you had the Delightful Children that were now collapsed to the floor, gasping for breath, she really should tell Mister Benedict that his children needed to get out and play more.
Now, the whole gym class was lined up against the gym's padded wall, with the Delightful Children dragging themselves towards the wall until they flopped onto their backs to wheeze for fresh air.
She definitely needed to tell Mister Benedict that his children needed to get out more, this was just unhealthy for children their age to be so winded.
Tanya brought her attention back to the faraway door of the gym where Miss Lin left off to, saying she had to get the right equipment for the next exercise; it wasn't but a minute or so, before Miss Lin finally came back out rolling a large piece of equipment. It looked more like a cannon if anything else to go by.
While the kids beside her whispered among themselves at the absurd piece of equipment that Miss Lin brought out, the teacher herself smirked as she finally brought the cannon thing to the center of the floor, and stood in front of it, "Okay, I bring here Beijing Dodgeball three hundred, make champions out of last team that won championship!" she announced, while gesturing at it with her hand, a smirk plastered over her face.
From out of her tracksuit pocket, Miss Lin brought out a remote, "Next exercise begin now, begin!" She announced quickly, before the cannon began to whir up with energy, then started out blasting red basketball sized balls out at everyone.
"Aaaah!" Most of the class shouted as everyone began dodging every ball headed their way to the best of their ability, Tanya herself narrowed her eyes as she bent at her knees and readied herself for the ball that would soon come her way.
The cannon itself turned on its own turret to aim its barrel at every student, letting a 'thoomp' every time it shot a ball at one of them; several students were already out from getting hit and launched into the soft padding in the wall behind them, the Delightful Children were already unfortunate to have several balls head their way and get hit five times while they are still leaning against the wall.
Tanya meanwhile dodged side to side, before catching one; this was dodgeball, and by rules, she was allowed to catch one and not get struck out; her hands however stung from the force of the ball being caught by her, making her wince a bit, while as the same time her feet dragged along the floor from the force of the ball sending her back a bit.
Miss Lin blew into her whistle again after she momentarily turned the cannon off, "Good, very good, five of you survived, good job, the rest, poor!" Miss Lin shouted with disapproval.
While Tanya still held onto her ball, she looked to the sides of her self, and saw that Wallabee smirk proudly as he held his caught dodgeball Leona was wiping her arm against her brow showing she was a bit winded, Eggbert was leaning over with his hands on his knees breathing for air, and Kuki was smiling as she hummed to herself.
Tanya glanced behind momentarily to see the rest of the class were whimpering as they had dodgeball imprints on their faces and arms, before she looked back at her gym teacher; The class had at least ten more minutes of this, before class ended.
Wallabee/ Numbuh 4
That stupid Tanya was good, but he was better. He would beat that stupid cannon dodgeball machine, and send that substitute teacher packing!
Miss Lin blew into her whistle once more, before pressing into her remote again, "Round two, begin!" she yelled, her voice echoing harshly. The cannon itself whirred back up to life, before it became a large cannon through a transformation, now sporting six barrels, and began spinning around shooting its dodgeballs at them.
"Let's go!" Wallabee shouted as he began dodging side to side, jumping over and bouncing dodgeballs off from the one he caught. "Come have a go!" he yelled, nimbly making the exercise look like a cake walk.
"Waaooh…ooof!" That sounded like Numbuh 3, but he couldn't look back and see if she was okay, he had to win this dodgeball exercise.
"Bwwwaah!" Eggbert let out a snort of pain as a dodgeball managed to finally strike him in the gut and send him flying into the padded wall behind them, all the while Wallabee leaped over another incoming dodgeball and threw his at another incoming ball heading for him while he was in the air, before he landed back down to catch another one.
His hands stung, but the challenge felt fun; before long, Leona was out next as she screamed from getting knocked in the head and launched into the padded wall next.
Wallabee smirked, now it was just him and that stupid Tanya girl now, but not for long! He was the school's dodgeball champion! Just because that stupid Muffy Jenkens beat him once in some recess match, didn't mean nothing!
Tanya
While this next round of dodgeball was more intensive, she was able to keep up with her reflexes to dodge and bounce the incoming dodgeballs headed her way; with the only ones now present to stay in the exercise being her and Wallabee, the dodgeball revolving cannon was about to focus more of its cannons between her and Wallabee.
Thus, she was having to move more quickly, from side to side, and catching another ball into her hands so now that she could hold dodgeballs in both hands; so now with the dodgeballs firmly gripped in her hands, she used them as counter bounce ball weapons to defend herself against the barrage of hailing dodgeballs.
And when she meant hailing, she meant hailing; the dodgeball cannon propped out another large cannon atop itself and fired dodgeballs up towards the ceiling and made them bounce back down towards her and Wallabee.
"Rrrraaagggh!" Wallabee yelled as he spun around like a tornado, utilizing the same tactic of keeping a dodgeball in each hand, and protecting himself from the incoming hailstorm of dodgeballs.
While he was making quick work of blocking and bouncing each incoming ball from hitting him, Tanya on the other hand worked by dodging and punching each coming ball with the dodgeballs she held in her hand; she kept her attention on everyone incoming dodgeball headed her way, and was able to defend herself.
This went on for a minute, before finally Miss Lin blew into her whistle while shutting the cannon off with her Remote, "Enough, good job. Beetle, Weber, near perfect scores!" she yelled, while in the background, the other children continued to groan in pain a bit from the exercise, Miss Lin brought out a clip board from her person, and jotted down into it, before pointing it at Tanya and Wallabee, "Need better forms, but good. Rest of you, failures!" she yelled.
Tanya breathed a sigh of relief, feeling her heartbeat from the extensive amount of exercise she got out of this 'game', before letting the dodgeballs loose from her grip.
Miss Lin spoke once more as she eyed Tanya and Wallabee, "I expect you to sign up for my dodgeball team, no excuses, class over!" she yelled with a pointed look, before walking off.
Leaving everyone to rest for the remainder of two minutes gym class had, until the bell rang.
Tanya let out an exhausting breath, before checking that her throat felt parched, making her need to head for the water fountain in the back of the gym; just as she was about to get herself a drink of water though, Wallabee called out for her, "OY!" he yelled, earning Tanya to look back at him momentarily.
Wallabee pointed at her with an angered look, "Just because you survived this dodgeball exercise with me, doesn't mean you're better than me!" he yelled over at her with a glare, making her lift a brow in confusion.
"Excuse me?" Tanya asked, squinting her eyes at him, before scoffing and taking her leave, "I never believe such a thing, please do not make false assumptions!" she scolded back at him.
"Oi! I'll make whatever false assumsans I want!" Wallabee shouted back at Tanya, mispronouncing the word, and also making Tanya believe he didn't even know what the word meant.
Wallabee/ Numbuh 4
"Heh, I sure told her!" Wallabee smirked as he watched that stupid evil girl walk off, before turning around, and walked over to Kuki, "But man-" he began saying with a smile, and approached Kuki with his fists against his sides, "That was fun! I should see if Numbuh 2 will make me a machine like that!" he said while thumbing back at the dodgeball cannon.
Kuki on the other hand rubbed her head a bit as she picked herself up and spoke back to Wallabee, "Well at least gym class is over…sure hope that lady doesn't become our gym teacher permanently!" she commented back.
"Eh." Wallabee shrugged carelessly, and thumbed at where the Delightful Children were now crawling off to escape the gym, now that they were done with the class with only one minute remaining for the bell to ring, "It was more than worth it to see those dorks get their licking, 'bout time they had an adult treat them as bad as other children!" he reasoned.
Kuki relaxed her arm back down once she was done rubbing her head, and shook her head, "Wally, that's no way to think of things! We should have stopped that teacher before things got out of hand!" she chided him, showing the rare side of herself where she was the reasonable one.
"Whatever!" Wallabee shook his head at his friend, and walked off to leave, along with the many other kids with Kuki chasing after her friend. "It wasn't the worst a gym teacher has done." he added afterwards.
"Yeah, but that still doesn't mean we shouldn't have done anything!" Kuki reasoned with her friend, giving him a chiding look with hands on her hips, "Next time, if she is the substitute, we need to stop her before the other kids are hurt again!"
Throwing his arms up in defeat, "Fine, fine!" Wallabee relented, earning a happy and appreciative smile from Kuki.
"See, that wasn't so hard, was it!?" Kuki replied back, while raising her arms up in happiness, while earning a slight groan of annoyance from Wallabee.
Later, Tanya
After attending an english writing class, she was finally done with the school day, the trip back to her bus stop was pretty uneventful save for the idle conversation she had with Valerie about the coming weekend; the rumor about the Delightful Children hosting a party was becoming more grounded as other kids were informed about it.
Tanya of course would need to see if Mister Benedict needed her there for anything, otherwise, she had a bit of a free weekend beside doing whatever homework her teachers may give her.
As her train bus came to a screeching halt, her train car opened its doors, letting everyone out; while Tanya exited out from her seat with Valerie, her friend spoke with her as they exited out of the train car. "Oh, by the way, my mom wants me to host a girl's night party this friday night, and I was hoping you'd come over, you think you might have the time?" Valerie asked with a small smile while looking over her shoulder at Tanya.
While the two of them walked outside onto the sidewalk, Tanya spoke back with her friend after she shrugged back to her, "hmm…mother has said I need to make more friends, so this would make a fine opportunity to make some more beside you." she nodded, earning a smile back from Valerie.
"Perfect! I'll make sure to tell my mom, and see who else to invite!" Valerie said with excitement, expressing a smile of appreciation.
As Tanya and Valerie continued to walk along the sidewalk, they were at the part of the crossroad street where they would partways. Tanya spoke up with a positive tone, "Well, you have my phone number, let me know how it goes before Friday comes along." she told her, earning a nod from Valerie before they parted ways.
Valerie was a decent friend and competent in her grades, so it would do Tanya well to keep the girl as a friend; As Tanya continued to walk down the sidewalk towards her house, her eyes sharpened as she glanced to the side, someone was spying on her again. She wouldn't do anything yet, but if they did anything, she'd retaliate in full force without her coffee powers.
Abigail/ Numbuh 5
Hiding around the side of a fence, Abigail clung to the side while she had kept her ears open to listen in on the conversation between Tanya and Valeria; Numbuh 4 had already taken a different street route towards his house, leaving her to keep following behind the former two from a few ways away.
Her house was just down the road of another street down, which left Abigail some chance to listen in on the conversation. "hmm…Numbuh 5 better see what this friday party is about…" she muttered to herself, while crooking her finger over her chin in thought.
She wasn't the best of friends with Valerie, at most, she was neutral to the girl; it might be possible the girl would invite her, if not, then nothing. She wasn't that rude.
"Eves dropping again?" Tanya's drawling voice suddenly brought Abigail back to reality, out of her thoughts, and nearly jumped out of her skin as she flung herself away from the fence, rolling along the ground, before standing back up around with her hands up in a karate-like position.
"Gah!!" Abigail shouted, and narrowed her eyes at Tanya from under her cap, while the girl herself looked back at Abigail with her eyes glaring at her.
"Girl, you are one kinds of creepy!" Abigail shouted, while Tanya lightened her glare and scoffed.
"Did you need to hear more about what Valerie and I were talking about?" Tanya asked with a probing look and tone, earning a confused look from Abigail as she shifted her form into a relaxed one as she ceased her karate-stance and palmed her hips.
Both girls stared at each other's accusatory looks, before Tanya scoffed again and turned around and left, "No, I'm pretty sure you eaves dropped enough to hear it all." she remarked, earning a frown from Abigail.
"Now wait a darn minute, Numbuh 5's not about to take that while standing! You and Valerie are up to something!" Abigail shouted back while shaking her finger at Tanya and followed after her, her home was after all up ahead down the street of the upcoming street. "Numbuh 5 knows it!"
The girl ahead didn't bother looking back at her, but spoke anyways while she carried her bookbag on her back, "Then go ahead and ask her, matters not to me." she spoke back, earning a confused look back from Abigail as she stopped at her street, while Tanya continued to walk home across the crosswalk.
Now Abigail was starting to get confused with the girl, she was starting to throw her off.
