Chapter 156 - Chapter 16 | A night time incident

Weber Residence

Gerda

With a happy look on her face, Gerda hummed one of her family's favorite tunes from her ancestral homeland her mother would often sing, as she finished washing the dishes and reached for a dry towel nearby to dry her hands off; after exiting the kitchen, she walked through her home to head upstairs to check on her daughter.

It was only an hour ago since she left to pick up her daughter from working at the Delightful Mansion, once more, her daughter had showered and spent some time with her homework, before going to bed; it was late at night afterall, she of course offer some leftover dinner to her daughter, only to be shot down when Tanya had discussed that she ate some at the party.

Gerda continued to hum but more quietly as she passed through the living room, her silly husband Friedrick fell asleep on the couch watching the stock news; she walked around the couch after grabbing the blanket off from the couch itself and draped the blanket over him, before turning around to turn the television off.

Reaching down to grab the remote, she paused as watched a bit as the stock informer stated that coffee stock is up two percent due to the need for more coffee rigs in the ocean to be built, along with Werk.Co experiencing a dip in theirs. She shrugged, and turned the television off and placed the remote down.

The increase in coffee prices might be due to that KND organization's repeated attempts at making it hard for Adult Coffee Rig workers to build more coffee Rigs to drill for more coffee, that pesky and annoying organization had always been making it difficult for adult businesses.

Even as a child herself, she still remembers being just an average girl, until she was a teen, then they started attacking her along with the other teens and adults; it was very indiscriminate of that organization, it was one of the key reasons she took up the Mantle of Red Riding Hood. To punish the children of that organization!

Gerda continued to hum her little tune as she ascended the stairway of her home, intending on checking her child. She knew better to let her house feel safe without checking it first, knowing first hand what kind of stunts adult villains would pull…

Count Spankulot of course knew well enough to leave her home alone, she would punish her child just fine without his help, he just needed to give her a call if her little Tanya ever stepped out of line outside her home, no need to spank her himself; Gerda of course, was fortunate enough that her Daughter turned out to be good child, and was already on her path to becoming an Adult Villain!

As Gerda approached her Daughter's room door, her eyes narrowed as she heard some scuffling, and a bit of struggling, making her quickly grab the door knob and swing the door to see what was going on late at night for her little Tanya.

Quickly turning the lights on, while her hand was still on the door knob, her glare focused on the sight of Tanya putting her foot down against NightBrace's head while she was pulled back on his metal retainer fixated out from his mouth, both were on the floor with the man's stomach down against the floor.

Neither party said a thing, while Gerda glared at the man's face, her eyes drifted to the open window of her daughter's room, the obvious route the illegal practitioner of dentistry crawled in through.

Silence permeated the room for a bit longer, before Gerda spoke with a frank tone to the man with a pointed stare, "Tanya keep him down there…and tug harder." she ordered.

"Owowowow!" Nightbrace howled as Tanya pulled onto his brace hard, until finally the retainer popped free, allowing Tanya to toss the metal brace out the window.

Gerda walked into her daughter's room and towards the man, while Tanya stepped back away, allowing her mother to handle the business with the Adult Villain; Gerda reached down to grab the groaning man by the head, and carried him out of her daughter's room.

She paused and looked back at her daughter with a stern look while she stood in the doorway, "I'll be back, alright honey!?" She smiled towards her daughter, who nodded without a second thought.

"Good!" Gerda expressed kindly, before switching back to a livid expression while continuing in taking Nightbrace out of her daughter's room, and out her front door, she had some talking to do with the man.

As she dragged the man by his head with her hand grasped into the hooded cowl of his head, the man tried to reach up and get her to stop, "Stop! I didn't know it was your house, I swear!" Nightbrace begged as she dragged him towards the stairs.

Gerda ignored him as she continued to walk while still dragging him by the head, making his body bump against each stair step as she descended the stairs, earning an 'ow' from the man each time, "Excuses!" Gerda hissed back at him as she finished descending the stairs and walked around to head to her front door.

As she passed through the living room and passed the couch her husband was sleeping on, Friedrich picked himself up to blearly look over at her with a confused expression, "I thought you were retired…" he remarked, still expressing a sleepy eyed look.

Gerda waved off her Husband's worries as she continued pulling Nightbrace through her house, "Nein, just some idiot that didn't bother looking up where I live! Go back to sleep honey!" She cheerfully stated back with a closed eyed smile, earning a yawn and a nod from the man before Freidrick slumped back down to sleep on his couch.

He really needs to stop sleeping on the couch! They have a bed for a reason!

Once Gerda reached her front door, with Nightbrace still clawing at her hand grasping into the back of his head, she pulled the front door open and went outside with him before shutting the door behind her.

Earlier that night

Tanya

Being picked up by her mother was nice, the idle talk about what she had to do on the way home was just as uneventful of a parent asking how their child's day at work was; when she and her mother arrived home, dinner had already been cooked, eaten, and some leftovers available to eat later.

Tanya had of course insisted with her mother that she had eaten enough, from what the employees were given from the left over food the party had, which was a lot; so after freshening up with a shower, and finishing up a bit of her homework from school, which was just a little bit of history literature about how Texas defended itself against a marauding force of invading Mexican jumping beans the size of a human.

She had been completely done disbelieving things by now, with the amount of stuff she's seen and experienced, Tanya was unsure what not to expect anymore.

Thus now, as she was climbing into bed with her pajamas on, Tanya pulled her covers over herself and allowed her eyelids to shut to eventually succumb to sleep; She had a few things needed to be done tomorrow.

Right as she was feeling the sense of her mind drifting off to sleep, a light thud echoed from her window, making Tanya snap her eyes up with an annoyed look on her face.

That had best not be those Kids Next Door operatives.

Or that Count Spankulot! She's heard that recent news story. The adult Villain was found in the 'wrong' house spanking a child, and was sentenced to jail or something.

Guess that meant adult villains were inherent to a certain law as well, that allowed them to punish children.

With those thoughts aside for now, Tanya made quick action of replacing where she was sleeping with her pillows, and draped her blanket over them; Sprinted with quiet steps to stand flat against the wall beside her window, Tanya glared as she watched and listened as outside her window, the sound of footsteps thudded against metal.

That was definitely not the sound of a kid climbing a metal ladder, that meant it was some adult villain visiting her room. Either Adult Villains were indiscriminate in who they punished with whatever thing they did, or because she was still a kid on the side of the Adult Villains, she was still on the attack list or something else.

Now the question was, who was attempting to sneak into her room?

Not but a second sooner, the window to her second floor room was opened from the outside…she really needed to ask her father for locks to her window, this has been the second time of a home invasion!

Shortly after her window was opened, a man dressed in a complete dark blue suit with a large ring retainer around his mouth; the would-be adult villain assailant turned his head to the right, where her bed was and her pillows underneath disguised as a child's body. With a bit of a lisp, the man whispered to himself while taking out a pair of dentist tools from his belt, "All shall have their teeth checked, and braces installed!" he then cackled quietly, and tip toe towards Tanya's bed.

Tanya narrowed her eyes as she silently crept up behind the man, as he moved towards her bed, and as he quickly ripped the covers off, he let out a surprised 'huh?', right before Tanya jumped up into the back of his head, "Gah!-" The man yelped in surprise, right before Tanya tugged harshly on his ring brace, making him grunt in pain as he stumbled back while she continued to press her foot against his head and pull harder with the brace in her hands.

"I have my family dentist, I'll make sure my parents press you in court!" Tanya sneered back as the man squealed in pain, before tripping over his feet at the sudden attack on his person, having not expected the table to be turned this face by the looks of things.

"Owowow! This wasn't supposed to be a KND brat's home! I checked-owowow!" The home invader tried to speak, right before Tanya pulled more on his metal brace.

Tanya stopped and grounded her foot against the back of the man's head, while at the same time pulling against his ringed brace, "I'm not with them!" she seethed back, glaring down at the man.

Just as Tanya was about to finally try and rip the man's brace out from his mouth, her door was swiftly opened and light turned on, making both her and the man pause and look towards the doorway to see Tanya's mother stand and give the man a seething look.

Tanya's mother was the first to break the silence, "Tanya keep him down there…and tug harder." Her mother order with a stern look; that was an acceptable response to a home invader, so Tanya did as her mother ordered and pressed down with her foot against the man's head, and pulled up on his brace.

"Owowow!" The man screamed, before finally Tanya was able to yank the metal ring from out of his mouth, the man whimpered and groaned while Tanya tossed his braces out the window.

Her mother on the other hand walked into her room, and promptly yanked the man up by the hood of his cowl, and dragged him off out of her room, but not before pausing at her room's doorway to look back at her with a stern look, "I'll be back, alright honey!?" her mother chimed to her, earning a nod from her, before her mother walked off.

Tanya could hear the distant 'ows' from the home invader from the hallways as her mother dragged him down the stairways.

Shaking her head, she walked back towards her window and shoved the ladder away from her window, letting it clatter against the grassy ground; reaching up, Tanya shut her window and yawned into her hand.

Her mother would be back, so presumably she should wait for her; feeling a bit parched, Tanya headed down downstairs to grab a quick drink of water.

While she exited her room and descended the stairway, Tanya could hear the distinct muffled shouts of the man begging for mercy, along with cracks of wood and chains of some kind; whatever her mother was using, she was definitely livid to make the man howl in pain.

"It was an honest mistake!"

"Lies! You knew where I lived!"

"Okay fine! I did, but I just wanted to put some braces on your daughter!"

"Und now, I shall deliver more pain! We have our own family dentist!"

While Tanya walked quietly through the living room, hearing her father snoring loudly while he slept on the couch, she could hear the external sounds of her mother dishing out punishment against the home intruder.

After a few minutes of noises coming from outside, all went quiet as Tanya had entered the kitchen and downed some water from her glass, shortly before she placed it beside the sink; she would clean it now, but it was getting late into the night.

The front door opened, before her mother walked back in, making Tanya step back out of the kitchen. Giving her mother an innocent look while she herself was giving Tanya a questioning look, Tanya spoke earnestly, "Just came down for some water, left the cup beside the sink for later." she announced, letting her mother know she would either use it again or just clean it.

Gerda frowned for a bit, before smiling a bit and walked over to her daughter to usher her out of the kitchen, "Awe, it's alright! But for now, it's way past your bedtime! We can talk more about this tomorrow…along with getting your father to install window locks later!" she responded kindly.

Tanya nodded in agreement, and made for heading back to her room; her mother probably wanted to spill the beans to tell her that she was once an Adult Villain, being curious, she pondered what sort of Villain theme her mother was.

Gerda

Following her daughter into the living room, but stopping there to watch her ascend the stairway, she smiled softly as the girl entered her room and shut her door. Gerda frowned a bit as she turned back around to shut the kitchen light off and get her husband out of the couch and sleep upstairs in their bedroom, it wasn't good for one's back to always sleep on the couch!

As Gerda walked past the couch, her husband mumbled to himself and spoke while keeping his blanket over himself, "mm…adult villain?" he asked, while Gerda paused to speak once.

"It was…had it handled." Gerda responded sharply, before walking off to the kitchen, turned the lights off and went back into the living room. "I'll need you to go to the hardware store tomorrow, and get some window locks." she requested, allowing an honest worried tone to filter into her voice.

Friedrick mumbled a bit more, before speaking again in a sleepy tone, "mmm…sure thing…" he responded while Gerda walked around the couch and lightly tapped on his side.

"Up up! Come on! I didn't buy our bed, just for you to sleep down here!" Gerda encouraged him with a demure smile.

Friedrick yawned again, and sat up to rub his neck a bit, and nod, "Ugh…feeling stiff from lying on this thing anyways…" he grouched, and stood up to walk off up the stairs to bed.

Gerda followed her husband up to bed, but not before walking over to the nearby living room lamp to shut it off, blanketing the entire house in darkness, before following her husband off to bed.

Next Morning

Tanya

Using a butter knife to slice her waffle up, Tanya ate her breakfast while her father was sitting at the table reading the newspaper, her grandpa Heinrich was being a bit grumpy as he slowly chomped his tapioca; her mother on the hand was in the process of grabbing herself a plate of breakfast consisting of Waffles and bacon, before taking her own seat across from Tanya's Father in a four seated table.

Tanya continued to eat, her father idly humming as he spoke for a bit with his newspaper blocking his view of the table, "hm…Rainbow Monkey Corp stock up by five percent…" he mused.

While she continued eating, Tanya's eyes went from her father to her mother, who had just taken a bite of her bacon, before speaking back to her husband, "Oh yes! Sales have gone up, and the company is introducing a new line of rainbow monkeys alongside a movie coming out!" she responded.

Tanya took another bite from her breakfast, while her mother and father talked about other stock trades, her grandpa spoke to her from across the table with a crotchety tone, "Girl, have you been investing any of your money into anything? All I ever see you youth do, is waste away your money the soonest you get your paycheck!" he exclaimed while shaking his fist in the air.

Swallowing a bite of her food, she spoke back to her grandpa with a frank tone, "I save most of my money, but yes, I have a stock broker helping me with a portfolio." she answered him.

Her father lowered his newspaper to look at his father, and spoke calmly with a smile, "It was quite nice meeting Frank at the stock market again, he was very surprised my own daughter wanted to invest her money!" he informed his father.

Grandpa Heinrich grunted once, and spoke, "Feh, I remember when I invested in military bonds, back when our country was at war in the brussel sprout gulf!" he remarked.

The morning continued as normal for the rest of the breakfast, as her parents made idle talk between each other; As everyone finished and cleaned up and left, Tanya stayed behind and helped her mother wash the dishes, by rinsing and placing the dishes in the dish rack.

Silence pervaded between her and her mother, before finally Gerda spoke with a kind tone, "I think it's about time we had that talk, Tanya dear…" she said, while her eyes were still focused on the dishes.

Tanya didn't look back, but figured now was a good time to speak, "Like what happened at night?" she asked, earning a 'uhuh', from her mother.

"You see, your mother was once an Adult Villain…but right now…I've hung that up to take care of you!" Gerda explained with a sideways glance and warm smile at her daughter.

Finishing up with the last dish, Tanya began drying her hands off, and turned around on the stool she stood on to look up at her mother's face, a frank look was expressed from Tanya, "I…sorta still remember you taking me to that Adult Villain mart when I was four…so it wasn't hard to connect the dots…" she informed her mother, letting the matter be less awkward between them.

Gerda smiled more, and put her hands over Tanya's and held them together, "Ooh! You don't know how proud you made me, when you started working for Work.co, becoming a villain in your own right! You even destroyed a couple KND bases! I've been looking forward to this day when I could talk this matter over with you!" she talked with joy.

Tanya felt the need to step back, the over abundance of her mother's attitude was a bit more than she expected. "So…" She looked at her mother with an uncertain look, while her mother released her hands, "What was your adult villain gimmick?" she asked, allowing her curiosity to seep out, she honestly did want to know what her mother did as a villainess.

Gerda giggled a bit, before standing proud with her hands against her hips, before palming her chest, "I was known to Villains and KND children as The Red Riding Hood!" she announced proudly.

So that answers why there was a motorcycle chopper covered in a tarp inside the garage, she thought it was her father's.
