Chapter 22 - Chapter 14: XENTHOIUR!! part 3

He roared again and again, and with each passing moment, more of that strange energy gathered around him. When that strange energy collided with the black substance, a dark explosion erupted.

Both energies clashed, and as an aftereffect, the black substance increased its speed once more. Julicious was overwhelmed by the pressure and roared, hoping for the same result, but the strange energy dissipated at the last moment.

The black substance entered his body through his wounded waist, and he was too weak and powerless to prevent it. His wounds began to turn dark purple, the area around them turning purple and then darker and darker. After some time, his entire body was almost completely dark purple.

He closed his eyes, finally allowing them to rest after a long time. Suddenly, his body began to disperse the strange energy again. Julicious opened his dried eyes, which were comparatively in better condition than before, but still at risk of permanent sight loss.

As soon as he opened his eyes, all the energy escaping his body aligned and exploded in an instant. The entire cage broke down into mere dust particles. Julicious rushed forward and moved his finger towards the pitch-black cloth falling where the cage had been.

His finger passed right through it, but as soon as his finger pierced the cloth, he closed his fist and trapped it. With a shake, he moved the cloth aside.

(As the sun began to set, casting a sunset instead of a sunrise.)

As the sun began to set, his body began to glow with a golden light, giving him a divine appearance, but the strange energy made him a bloodthirsty beast.

He took a deep breath, and all the dark energy rushed towards his throat and face. He roared a single word that echoed through the area, "XENTHOIUR!!!" The strange energy enhanced his throat, and as a result, even after such a destructive roar, he was not severely injured.

Near the Neothaliyan camp, just before Julicious roared:

"Did you hear something?" one soldier asked another standing beside him. "No..." he began, but then paused. "Wait, I think I heard Xen..." Another soldier standing nearby asked him, "What did you hear?" He felt a strange unease, but he couldn't identify the feeling, so he dismissed it.

He thought about it for a moment and then, losing interest, asked the soldier who had heard something, "What happened? Why did you stop talking?" "And what was that muttering just now?" he added.

When the soldier didn't answer his questions, he simply ignored him. "Okay then, if you don't want to speak, then..." he muttered. This was an ordinary occurrence for them, but one soldier, a bit further away, was confused.

"What are those two doing? Whatever... and by the way, wha..." He was about to finish his whisper but suddenly stopped and clutched his throat in shock. In fear and surprise, he muttered, "What happened to my voice?"

He looked at the others, who also realized something was wrong with their voices. "My voice, my voice is gone!" Screams and cries echoed in the area, yet despite this, everything seemed eerily calm.

He began to feel increasingly uneasy as time passed. "Something is wrong, and..." He stopped, realizing his voice wouldn't reach anyone. He paused, unsure why he had this strange feeling, and became increasingly confused.

He turned towards the two soldiers and began to observe them. As he carefully analyzed them, he witnessed something strange. Their entire bodies were covered in sweat and fear.

The fear froze him in place. He slowly moved his hands towards his ears, but before he could confirm his suspicions, a drop of sweat rolled down his face and touched the ground.

When his hands reached his ears, his suspicions were confirmed. He began to lose his balance and fell to his knees. Flashes of memory appeared before him. "Your hearing power is great; it was really helpful throughout." Another memory flickered, cutting the previous one in half.

"What do you say? You have trouble hearing what I say?" An old, harsh voice echoed in his head. That voice yelled at him, "If you know your weakness, make it your strength, little one."

The harshness of the voice softened, and as he finished his sentence, a hand tapped his head. After a brief pause, he continued, "I don't want you to be left alone. Please grow stronger."

He sank deeper into the flashes of memory. The more he realized his situation, the more he screamed—a silent scream that no one heard.

Not far away, Xenthoiur walked from his bed, confused, and began to move out of the camp.

"What was that strange energy? It came from the prison area, but..." He paused briefly and then started moving back inside, thinking as he walked towards the core of his camp. "Probably just my imagination. They aren't strong enough to unleash such power."

But before he could move further, he turned back. Moments later, a powerful force rushed towards him. A sharp, deafening voice reached his ears, its loudness exploding within them. His eyes turned red, and after the voice subsided, he screamed in pain and anger.

"Who was that?" he roared, then suddenly calmed. "That voice..." he added. He surveyed the area and began to scan the damage. The camp itself was fine, but all the wooden items left in the open were severely damaged, some cracked open.
