In the bedroom, Little Nuomi sat up with a grunt, her blurry eyes barely open as she reached out with both arms, "Mommy..."
Her baby voice trailed off elongating the last syllable even as her eyes remained closed.

As Mu Jingxi pushed open the door, what he saw was this scene: the little one with her hair a tousled mess, her tender, bun-like face delicate yet adorably soft.
"Where's Mommy?"
She rubbed her eyes, struggling to open them.
"Good morning, Little Nuomi."
Little Nuomi stretched out her arms, asking for a hug.
Mu Jingxi picked her up and carried her into the bathroom, and gave her her favorite toothpaste — Little Nuomi's toothpaste was pink and strawberry flavored.
Even her towel was a cute, pink shade.
"Uncle, facey face," said Little Nuomi with her face upturned and eyes closed, signaling him to wash her face.
Mu Jingxi chuckled softly, "All right, tell Uncle if it's too rough."
"Okay."
