Cupid spoke calmly, his heart even calmer, but Nicholas urgently said through the walkie-talkie, "Failed? Didn't you say it would definitely succeed? Why did it fail? Or was the plan never successful to begin with?"
"It was partially successful. Sea God indeed discovered me, and he attempted to intercept me. If I had intended to take him out from behind, I would certainly have met him face to face. But while he did come, he didn't appear where I had anticipated, so the plan failed."
