Lightning Binding was indeed like the Fireball Technique, an instant cast spell, but it was a linear attack and considered a medium-close range spell. Once unleashed from the hands of the caster, everything within a thirty-six-meter trajectory, including allies, was within its range of attack.
Thus, this spell was more restricted than the Fireball Technique, prone to friendly fire, and could be easily blocked by materials resistant to electricity.
However, these significant drawbacks were nullified by the Blood Cloak's conductivity.
Countless bolts of lightning struck the Blood Cloaks, not only failing to be repelled but also drawing in even the dissipating electrical energy, attracted like metal to electricity—some bolts even went out of their way to seek out targets not directly in their path.
