"This has to start with the origin of Nimiel Village. It was once a logging village, surrounded by dense forests on the hillsides. However, half a century ago, all the ancient trees here were felled and cleared away, forcing the village to shift into an agricultural settlement. Being upstream of Masongbai City, their crops and vegetables were in high demand, so life was not too difficult.
But the wanton deforestation angered nature, which placed a curse on this land. Sandification worsened year by year, and the soil's ability to retain moisture became particularly poor. To resolve this issue, the villagers dug numerous water channels and built a large cattle-pulled water tower.
However, before the water even reached the fields, it had all leaked away in the water channels.
