The atmosphere in the room was tense as if the air itself had thickened with the palpable tension between the women gathered. They sat around a large, round table in a grand chamber within Nazarick, each occupying their place but rarely making eye contact.
The only sound that occasionally punctuated the silence was the soft tap of Yuri Alpha's footsteps as she stood, refusing to sit. Her eyes scanned the room with a sharp, calculating gaze, betraying none of the emotions simmering beneath the surface.
The reason for this clandestine gathering was clear but unspoken: each of the women here had a connection to Alex, and that bond—intimate, personal—was precisely why they had convened. Except for Koneko, everyone in this room had shared Alex's bed, and now the power dynamics were on display.
The two distinct groups couldn't be more obvious. On one side of the table sat Albedo, Shalltear, and Yuri Alpha—three formidable women from Nazarick who viewed Alex not just as a lover, but as their Lord and Master. Their loyalty to him was absolute, and their suspicion of the others ran deep.
Nazarick's inhabitants had an inherent distrust of outsiders, and these "foreign women" were no exception.
On the opposite side sat the outsiders—Rias Gremory, Sona Sitri, Serafall Leviathan, Akeno Himejima, Asia Argento, Koneko and Issey. They were women who had developed their own unique relationships with Alex over time, but they came from a different world, a different hierarchy.
They didn't understand Nazarick's culture, nor the near-religious reverence Albedo, Shalltear, and Yuri held for their Lord. But what they did understand was one undeniable truth: they all cared for the same man, and that was enough to breed rivalry.
Albedo broke the silence first, her voice smooth and authoritative, as she addressed the group. "I think we all know why we're here." She didn't need to elaborate. The reason hung heavy in the air.
Shalltear, her crimson eyes flickering with a mixture of amusement and suspicion, leaned forward slightly, her lips curling into a smirk. "Yes, it's quite clear. We're here because some of you seem to think you can get closer to our Lord Alex than we can allow." Her tone dripped with condescension, making it clear who she was addressing.
Rias, her long crimson hair cascading down her back, met Shalltear's gaze head-on. "You seem to think Alex belongs to you," she said, her voice steady, though her words were laced with barely concealed irritation. "But let's not forget, he chose all of us."
Sona adjusted her glasses, a cold edge to her usually calm demeanour. "None of us are here by accident. Alex… is capable of making his own decisions. You can't seriously believe you have some exclusive claim over him."
Albedo interjected with a calm but lethal smile. "It's not about ownership, Sona. It's about loyalty. We serve him in ways you could never understand. You might share his bed, but we share his purpose. There's a difference." Her golden eyes glinted dangerously as she spoke.
Serafall, who had been uncharacteristically quiet, suddenly burst into her usual, hyperactive demeanour. "But Sona-chan and I care for Alex-chan too! Besides, I've known him long enough to know that he likes us because we're different!" She winked at the others, trying to lighten the mood, but the tension didn't ease.
Yuri Alpha, standing rigidly, was not amused. "Differences mean little when it comes to what Lord Alex desires in the long run. His ambitions are vast, and those who can't keep up with them will be left behind."
Issey, who had been silently observing, finally spoke up, her voice softer but no less serious. "It doesn't have to be a competition, you know. Alex isn't someone who can be possessed or controlled. He… sees something in each of us. That's why we're here. Beside he is a ruler shouldn't all ruler should have an imperial harem."
Akeno, with her usual sultry smile, added, "I agree with Issey. There's no point in trying to claim him. He's drawn to strength, to power, to passion. We all offer him something different. Isn't that what he enjoys?"
Shalltear's eyes narrowed at Akeno's words. "Strength, power, and passion, you say? I could just kill you all without moving from here. But let's assume you might offer those things, but none of you have experienced the depths of devotion we have. We would die for him without hesitation."
Rias frowned. "And you think we wouldn't?"
Albedo's smile widened. "I don't think, Rias. I know. You are from the outside world, where alliances shift like the wind, and loyalties are fleeting. Here, in Nazarick, we are eternal. Our devotion to Lord Alex transcends your fragile bonds."
Asia, normally quiet and gentle, finally spoke, her voice filled with an innocent, earnest sincerity. "I don't think Alex-san would want us fighting like this. He brings us together because he sees the good in all of us. We should focus on what unites us, not what divides us."
Yuri Alpha, who had been quietly listening, nodded. "That's true, Asia. But unity doesn't come without trust. And right now, trust is something that's lacking in this room."
Albedo sighed, breaking the silence once more. "Perhaps Asia is right. Lord Alex wouldn't want us tearing each other apart. But make no mistake—we won't allow anyone to steal his heart from us. You may share his bed, but you'll never take his loyalty from Nazarick."
Rias, standing her ground, replied, "We're not trying to take him from anyone. But we also won't be pushed aside. Besides Lady Death also approved of me being his lover."
Albedo's eyes widen for a moment, "You met her,"
"Who is that?" Serafall asked. Except for Issey, everyone becomes curious.
"She is Lord Alex's First Wife."
