'Black Bird.' He thought silently.
A shadow burst out of the palm tree's shadow, pouncing toward Gu Ran like a collision.
"Thump!" A crack appeared in the coastal waves, with the clear seawater sparkling in the air, turning into points of light as if swallowing the sunlight.
"What's going on?" Gu Ran was utterly baffled.
His muscular hind limbs were gone, he could feel his hands and feet, but he lay on the seashore as if he had neither, his head resting just on the sand. When the waves came in, they reached his chin, and as they receded, they left his 'neck' fully exposed.
Gu Ran turned to look at himself.
As he turned, he instinctively thought: It's inconvenient to look back like this.
So, when the dragon turned its head, its entire body coiled and rose, floating in the air.
"Turned into a Chinese dragon? But what's with these bat wings?" Gu Ran was puzzled.
Despite his puzzlement, his mood was surprisingly calm.
