Manman was influenced by this atmosphere and even developed an unconscious respect for them deep inside her heart.
The elderly woman spoke, "You said you are not selling the painting anymore."
"Yes," Manman's palm began to sweat as she gripped her hand.
"Why?"
"My painting isn't worth so much money," she responded.
Her words provoked a burst of light laughter from the two elders in front of her, so much so that her face turned shrimp red from the embarrassment.
The old woman coughed to stop her own laughter and that of the butler beside her, though the smile in her eyes did not completely fade away. After sweeping a glance over Manman's lowered face, she asked, "Did your parents teach you to be honest?"
"No," Manman cleared her throat before answering correctly.
"Oh?" The elderly woman raised her eyebrows.
