Gu Mo might not have been able to raise her daughter personally but she did give Mrs. Lu the best adoptive parents. Mrs. Lu received far more love and affection from her parents than many children from typical families could ever wish for, so she has nothing to regret. If Mrs. Lu doesn't consider Gu Mo as her mother, Gu Mo would actually be relieved, because that would mean she hasn't failed her daughter's adoptive parents.
Manman stared straight at the butler: "Does she not like my mom?"
"She likes you more than she likes your mom," the butler discerned her mood, patted her shoulder gently, and said, "Mrs. Lu has always been a bit peculiar, as you know having met her. She's quite picky. But you need to understand that even though she doesn't like her own daughter much, she knows that it's still her daughter and would never hurt her."
