The sleek black sedan pulled up to a sprawling mansion nestled in an exclusive Wuhan neighborhood. As the car came to a stop, the king's eyes narrowed, taking in the opulent surroundings with a mixture of irritation and resignation. He turned to his advisor, who sat beside him in the back seat, and spoke in a low, controlled voice.
"Zhou, I believe I explicitly stated that I wanted to maintain a low profile."
Advisor Zhou nodded, his weathered face impassive. "Yes, Your Highness, which is precisely why I selected this particular house and vehicle for you."
The king's brow furrowed as he gestured at their luxurious surroundings. "This is your idea of low-key? This car? This house?"
Zhou cleared his throat, a hint of defensiveness creeping into his tone. "Well, Your Highness, I could have arranged for you to reside in a dilapidated dwelling and drive a vehicle prone to breaking down in the middle of the road. Would that have been more to your liking?"
