Omniscient's POV
The soft crackle of a fire was the first sound Theo registered as he opened his eyes. The room around him was unfamiliar—lavish, spacious, and warm in a way that left him disoriented.
Velvet curtains lined the windows, their deep crimson hue dimming the sunlight that tried to stream through. A gilded mirror hung across from the canopy bed he lay in, its ornate edges gleaming faintly.
Theo blinked, his body sluggish, his mind a whirlwind of fragmented thoughts.
Where am I?
He tried to sit up, but a wave of exhaustion anchored him to the mattress.
His hand instinctively brushed the silk sheets, a texture so alien it almost made him recoil.
"Thank god, you're awake."
The voice startled him. He turned his head sharply to see her—Caera. Her brown, chestnut hair were tied back in a loose braid, and her azure, blue eyes shone with a mixture of relief and concern.
