Chapter 33 - Chapter 32: Takedown

Thirty Seconds Left.

That's all there is now, and Greyvus is still flowing with power. He bent into a stance, green energy spiraling from him violently.

Skysin felt every nerve in his body ignite a warning. Move. Move! MOVE!

Greyvus spoke quietly, "run, then."

Skysin did. Immediately.

And Greyvus struck the air itself.

The resulting shockwave carved a canyon through the city, stretching past, deeper towards the horizon. Towers and buildings split apart in its path as Skysin rocketed through the destruction as blinding speed, weaving, flipping, spinning between collapsing towers and explosions by instinct alone.

The wind shrieked around him. Heart pounding. Thoughts racing. Every second felt razor-thin now. Greyvus pursued relentlessly behind him, moving like a green comet of utter destruction, breaking anything down that stood in his way.

And despite everything, Skysin was grinning like a maniac.

But why?

This is where the boy was alive!

No time to deeply think. No room to fear. Just movement. Instinct.

Flow.

And Skysin was in that state now.

The city became a blur of shattered light as blue and green streaked across the broken city that howled around them.

Glass rained from the heavens in glittering sheets. Fires bent sideways from the force of their movement. Entire towers groaned as shockwaves ripped through their skeletons.

Wisps of blue and green light.

Two streaks tearing across the city hard enough to split the grey sky open. Skysin vaulted over a collapsing bridge, one-foot touching rock for less than a heartbeat before he took off again.

Then Greyvus appeared above him.

Greyvus drove his heel down.

Skysin twisted mid-air.

BOOM!!

The attack missed him by inches and annihilated the bridge beneath them, erupting the entire structure into a storm of broken rock and debris.

But Skysin was already moving.

He spun through the falling rubble like flowing water, no hesitation in his steps. Weaving between slabs of concrete while bursts of wind exploded from his heels.

Twenty Seconds!!

Greyvus thrust two fingers forward, "Crane: Split Gale."

The air compressed instantly, altering to invisible bullets.

Skysin jerked sideways.

Three blasts tore past him, punching clean through thick buildings in the distance. Entire floors vanished from existence just a second later.

Skysin's pulse hammered harder. Can't stop moving. KEEP MOVING!!

He kicked off a falling car, accelerating again into a cyclone of frigid chaos and vanished.

Greyvus narrowed his eyes, but it was too late.

Skysin erupted behind him in a spinning rush.

Elbow to the spine!

Fists to the ribs!

A kick across the temple!

Each impact detonated loud enough to shake constructs.

Skysin moved faster with every strike, becoming less of a kid, and more of a natural disaster. Blue afterimages split around Greyvus from every direction at once!

Left!

Right!

Above!

Below!

The city flashed as each impact bursts like rapid-fire lightning!

Still, Greyvus endured. But now…he was breathing harder. Skysin was moving entirely too fast, and the Tensions Rise technique was close to fading.

Skysin saw it.

Greyvus snarled, the sound alone cracking nearby windows. His aura surged like a storm outwards.

Skysin's eyes nearly popped from his sockets, "WAIT WAIT WAIT—"

Greyvus slammed his hands together, the atmosphere ruptured. A spherical blast of chaos roared from his body in all directions.

Skysin raised his arms to block as the explosion swallowed the entire district. Buildings vaporized, streets folded inwards. A hurricane of fire and debris consumed everything for blocks!

Far away, Ai Mei used her telekinesis, shielding them from shattered rubble.

Elaine stared wide-eyed toward the inferno, "SKYSIN!!" The girl was about to take off.

But Crim took her wrist, "just hold out, okay? Sin should be fine…"

Elaine nodded, but the worry in her eyes was evident. She could see that Crim was bothered too; the tension between his eyebrows was enough as he watched from afar.

Inside the chaos, a streak of blue bursts free. Skysin rocketed out of the explosion, coughing violently, his shirt shredded clean off. Blood running down his shoulder.

But he was smiling, wildly. The adrenaline burning bright in his eyes, "THAT ALL YOU GOT GRANDPA?!!"

Greyvus launched upward, the ground breaking beneath him from force alone.

But Skysin met him head on.

The two collided in midair. A circular shockwave exploded across the clouds.

Skysin struck first, a multitude of punches blurring forward like a pack-a-punched assault rifle, each one wrapped in compressed bursts of wind.

Greyvus blocked most, but not all.

One clipped his jaw. Another struck his chest. The next buried into his ribs, hard enough to bend the air.

Greyvus retaliated instantly.

A single backfist.

Skysin leaned back, barely enough for it to graze his face. The clouds behind him split apart for miles.

Skysin grabbed Greyvus' wrist mid-motion, flipped over him in midair, and slammed his feet into martial artists back.

Greyvus shot down like a meteor, crashing into the decimated city below, obliterating three blocks in blinding eruption.

Smoke spiraled upward.

Skysin landed away by four-hundred meters, breathing hard. 'How long?' He asked himself.

His eyes flickered sideways, then widened.

Greyvus stood back up, slowly. But something was wrong now. The green aura cracked around him, unstable, like fire losing its heat. His arms trembled; veins bulged beneath his skin. Tensions Rise was beginning to disperse.

Without a word, Greyvus vanished.

Skysin's sense exploded, and the boy twisted with haste.

Greyvus was already there, a fist driving straight into Skysin's stomach.

The world seemed to have stopped, then folded inward.

BWOOOOM!!!

Skysin was launched through the city like a cannonball, tearing through buildings faster than sound itself. Roads vaporized around him as he bounced through tower after tower before crashing near the edge of the area, lake sitting behind, wild beasts running away from the thundering noise.

His body screeched in pain, blood dripping from his mouth. Those violet eyes locked onto Greyvus, standing on a nearby building.

Three Seconds…

Skysin grinned, standing to his feet once more, "gotcha…"

High above in the sky, Ai Mei flew. She noticed the faint flicker from Greyvus' aura. Her eyes sharpened instantly.

Before Greyvus could make a move, Ai Mei shot from above like four tons of steel, telekinetic energy screaming around her body in translucent spirals.

Her feet crashed against Greyvus' shoulders, slamming him into the building. The entire block caved inward from the impact, everything exploding skyward in a colossal ring.

Ai Mei flipped backwards from the smoke, one hand extended. Her eyes flashed, entire slabs of broken roadway ripped free from the city. Cars. Rubble. Everything around Greyvus suddenly rose into the air.

Her arm snapped downward, and the debris barrage descended like a divine punishment.

Massive chunks of rocks hammered into the crater one after another, each collision shaking the district harder than the last.

Dust swallowed everything.

But Ai Mei's instincts shrieked.

Greyvus emerged from the smoke behind her, like a demon walking through fire.

Ai Mei's eyes widened, but her body reacted swiftly. She spun sharply, her leg whipping through the air in a beautiful crescent arc. Her heel slammed directly against Greyvus' temple.

The strike had cracked the air.

Greyvus' head tilted slightly, and his arm rose calmly, catching her leg.

Ai Mei's breath hitched, 'he's still got this much strength??'

"Predictable," Greyvus growled. His fist drew back, the chaos around his arm compressed inward like a whirlpool, muscles bulging beneath his green aura, "Tiger: Rage Smitten."

Just before his arm could reach her, fire erupted like a beacon, pushing Greyvus back, letting Ai Mei go. Crim blasted forward, engulfed in roaring white flames. His fist ignited brighter. Then he unloaded a relentless torrent of blazing punches. Hammering against Greyvus point blank, explosions bursting with every strike.

Flames swallowed Greyvus entirely.

Greyvus cursed under his breath, taking three steps back, "you damn kids are resilient."

Another fiery punch crashed against Greyvus' guard, Crim glared at the man, "you're not getting off that easy."

Greyvus' aura surged, preparing for another strike.

But suddenly, blue flashed.

Skysin exploded into the battlefield at blinding speeds, landing a punch onto Greyvus' jaw.

Before he could react, a kick struck his rib. Then another, then the next!

Skysin became a storm of motion, attacks raining down at absurd speeds from every direction possible. Greyvus staggered backward beneath the barrage. He was getting overwhelmed.

Skysin skidded across the broken floor, appearing to Greyvus' left with a grin.

Ai Mei emerged from the right, Elaine catching up with her.

Greyvus gritted his teeth, "CMON THEN!!!"

They surged together, all at once.

A united assault.

A jumping!

Skysin went in first, spinning into a kick aimed straight for Greyvus' face.

Elaine followed, both legs igniting with telekinetic force as she launched a double kick towards Greyvus' chest.

Greyvus ducked under Skysin's strike. Then his hand shot upward, catching Elaine's ankle.

"Elaine!"

Greyvus hurled her through the air like a ragdoll. But before he could even breathe, Crim arrived.

Flames combusted around his fists, heavy punches crashed into Greyvus' face repeatedly.

Then Ai Mei appeared from behind, landing a vicious knee into his spine.

Greyvus snarled, twisting his body low in the fraction of a second. He swept a kick, blasting into Crim's ankle, knocking him off into the air.

Then shot a brutal punch, slamming his fist into Ai Mei's stomach, sending her flying backward through shattered debris.

But the kids didn't stop. They couldn't stop. The pressure pushed on continuously.

Skysin lunged in again, his fist carving through the air. A hard hook smashed against Greyvus' temple.

Greyvus immediately took hold of Skysin's shoulders, and pulled his head back, preparing for a devastating headbutt.

Skysin only laughed like a mad man, his blood pumping like a wild animal. The boy grabbed Greyvus' shoulders too, pulling his head back as well.

They both slammed forward simultaneously.

DOOOOOOOM!!!!!!

Thei skulls collided with apocalyptic force. The ground under their feet cratered instantly, entire sheets collapsing inward as a gigantic shockwave erupted across the city.

Both staggered backward, holding their heads, shaking them, dazed.

Elaine moved first. Fast, precise. Her palms blurred forward in a rapid sequence. Quick strikes hammered Greyvus while he remained weakened from the clash.

Greyvus retaliated with a backhand.

Elaine ducked gracefully and sweeps her leg low.

Greyvus was lifted, the opening was more than enough.

Skysin and Crim launched forward simultaneously, driving their knees into Greyvus stomach at the exact same moment.

The impact blasted Greyvus across the block like artillery fire.

But before he could have the chance of recovery, Ai Mei appeared behind him, mid-flight. Telekinetic energy danced around her body, and seized Greyvus, hurling him skyward.

Higher.

Higher!

Higher!!

Skysin pointed, violet eyes blazing, "we're almost there! WE GOTTA FINISH THIS!!!"

Crim bared his teeth.

Elaine clenched her fists.

Ai Mei nodded fiercely.

"RIGHT!!"

Greyvus roared from above, "NOT JUST YET!!"

Green aura pulsated around him again. One final surge. One desperate move to power himself up. He was planning to activate Tensions Rise once more, despite knowing the consequences when low on chaotic energy!!

But Skysin moved instantly. Ice shrieked from his palms, spiraling in torrents.

Greyvus became encased in massive crystalline ice midair. But the frozen prison trembled, already cracking. It wouldn't hold for long, and Skysin knew it.

So, he shot himself upward, splitting through the wind, wrapping his arms around Greyvus, tightly, despite the danger.

Greyvus yelled, struggling against the ice, "GET OFF ME YOU QUICK LITTE BASTARD!!!"

Skysin merely grinned through the exhaustion.

Bruised. Bleeding. Yet he still smiled.

The young man looked down to his comrades, "c'mon!! DO IT NOW!!!"

Crim thrusted both arms forward. White flames twirled together, into a gigantic inferno beast roaring across the sky, "FLAME BEHEMOTH!!!"

Ai Mei and Elaine screamed as every ounce of their telekinetic power gathered into a singular point of violent energy, "PSYCHO BLAST!!!"

The attacks thundered forward simultaneously.

Fire. Telekinetic force.

A Triad of Absolute Devastation.

They collided with Greyvus and Skysin together. But Skysin only held tighter, "you're not going anywhere, old man."

Greyvus' eyes widened, fear, understanding. It was coming to an end. And he couldn't do a single thing about it now. He was drained.

"NO!!!" Greyvus screamed, "NOT HERE!!!"

The continent trembled. The sky above was clear of any clouds.

"NOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!"

An ear-shattering explosion swallowed the whole continent.

Light engulfed the sky.

Mountains shook.

And for one terrible, yet breathtaking moment…

It felt like the Omiverse itself stopped breathing.
