Once upon a time there lived a family of five in a small house. They are preparing for the departure of their daughter.
* Loverina POV*
"Mom, is there a reason why you are sending me to a school about a hundred miles away?" I asked my mom. It wasn't miles away but the exaggeration.
Yesterday we got an email saying I got accepted into Moyo Royal High. I was happy at first but after the realization hit me, I was perplexed. And I had three reasons why:
1) I never applied to that school.
2) I didn't even know such schools accepted people like me.
3) That school is expensive, how was I going to afford the fees.
But I wouldn't necessarily say I don't deserve it. I am 3rd in my grade. Well that's all primary.
I asked my mom and I got the most shocking news. I was offered a scholarship to Moyo Royal High. But there is a catch. My mother refused me knowing it and says I should focus on having fun but not letting my grades slip either. Now, I am stuck contemplating the fact that I want to go to Moyo high or not.
"Now darling, I only want the best for you." My mom answered. She was checking if I had packed everything. She prefers perfection over everything. And double checking or triple checking in this case is the way to go. And I being lazy just watched her do it all on her own.
"But mom, how many times have I told you? I don't want to go to that school. As the name suggests, it is a place for royals and I am not even close to that." I whined. My mom finds it hard to believe that this journey won't be easy. But just hearing the name of the school even seeing the pictures of it on their website, one can immediately conclude what kind of a school it is.
"And I told you, it is not up for discussion. Like it or not, you are going there." She said leaving no room for an argument. I feel emotionally drained. I can't believe what is happening to me. My life is falling apart with every single second that passes and it hasn't even begun.
My friends will be miles away from me. My boyfriend cheated on me and I just found out. Don't get me wrong, but when you have friends older than you, you will do stupid things. But I wouldn't call him my boyfriend because we never kissed or touched. But that is not all. The worst case scenario is he was only with me because of a bet. He and his friends wanted to see who I will agree to date.
At that time I was naive. I wouldn't say I improved but I can see things now.
I will only get to see my family members after four months once I leave and I haven't been away from home for that long.
So the only thing left to do right now is to say goodbye to my old life and welcome the life of a new Loverina Wesley who will live in a new and different environment.
My name is Loverina Wesley. I will be turning 13 in May. I am a winter babe. This will be my first year in high school. I wouldn't say I am ready but I have to be ready at some point. I will be in 8th grade.
