Chapter 332: Gods Are People Too
In Spirit City, a blond-haired young man was strolling down the street with two purple-haired women, clearly "making a scene."
They drew the attention of many onlookers.
But the trio seemed used to it and paid no mind.
The two purple-haired women had strikingly "proud" figures, stirring up envy and frustration among some female soul masters.
It was already unfair that they were so pretty—why did their figures have to be perfect too?
The most outrageous part was that they had even unlocked the "twin buff"!
What had this little blond guy done—save the world or create it—to be so lucky as to win the favor of such women?
Of course, the blond guy was quite handsome himself—just a sliver short of matching the readers' own looks.
"As expected of the Spirit Hall's headquarters—almost everyone you see here is a soul master."
Kong glanced at the passersby and commented casually.
If the Heaven Dou Empire and Star Luo Empire ever went to war with Spirit Hall without outside help, Kong really couldn't imagine how the two empires could possibly win.
Come to think of it, Tang San's appearance must have been because the Asura God didn't want the Douluo Continent to continue developing—done to preserve the divine realm's dominance and the faith it relied on.
Lambs don't need strength...
Especially not those from the Douluo Continent!
Back in the Dragon God War, the Douluo Continent had benefited immensely. The blood of the Dragon God, Dragon Kings, various gods, and divine beasts had rained down upon it.
That granted the once-ordinary Douluo Continent boundless potential—even the chance to become the next divine realm!
That was something the existing Douluo Divine Realm couldn't accept.
Limiting the Douluo Continent's growth, capping its ceiling, and squeezing out its potential—that was the "correct" path of development.
That's why even now, the Douluo Continent could still bear the descent of a God King and the battles of three first-level deities.
But ten thousand years later, even first-level deities would be unable to linger.
Twenty thousand years later, the arrival of a first-level god could destroy the continent outright—and even second-level gods nearly wiped it out…
By continuously draining the Douluo Continent's potential and monopolizing its power, the continent could no longer truly progress.
What the Asura God hadn't anticipated was that Tang San did follow the plan.
But Tang San took it even further!
He directly seized the ocean's authority, helped Tang Hao gain dominion over the land, and completely turned the Douluo Continent into the Tang Clan's continent!
To help the Tang Clan's world develop, he lured other weaker realms to merge with it willingly.
As for how many soul masters would be sacrificed in the process… that was outside Tang San's concern.
It was a grand strategy spanning ten thousand years!
"Tang San…"
Kong shook his head, unsure if Tang San was even still alive.
He hadn't been paying attention to Tang San—his potential had its limits. Even if the original God King version of Tang San showed up, it would only take a single slash.
Such a Tang San wasn't even worth his notice.
It wasn't arrogance—just fact.
"Husband, candied hawthorn…"
Suddenly, Raiden Shogun's voice rang beside his ear, bringing him back to his senses.
Her eyes were full of anticipation. Ei said nothing, but her gaze was just as eager as Raiden's.
Kong chuckled. His general-wife and shadow-wife were so easy to please.
"Boss, how much for the candied hawthorn?"
Kong asked the vendor.
The vendor was a man in his sixties or seventies. What was surprising was that his soul power had actually reached rank 75!
A Soul Sage… selling candied hawthorn?
"You must be joking. If it were anyone else, these would cost at least two hundred gold soul coins. But if you want them, please take them and enjoy with your wives—my treat."
The old vendor grinned and spoke.
Kong froze for a moment. Did this boss recognize him?
Well, it made sense. After all, this was Spirit City. With the vendor's level of soul power, it wasn't strange for him to have seen him before.
Wait a minute—was this candied hawthorn made of golden fruits or something?
Two hundred gold soul coins couldn't even buy it?
Kong gave the candied hawthorn a closer look and froze again. Good grief, the old vendor hadn't lied—two hundred gold soul coins truly weren't enough for this hawthorn!
These rare fruits, although not extremely valuable, certainly weren't something you could buy for just two hundred gold soul coins.
Their "not very valuable" was only relative to even better rare fruits...
After eating these candied hawthorns, one's cultivation would receive a short-term boost, beneficial for training.
"No reward without effort,"
Kong shook his head with a smile.
"These things are worth about ten thousand gold soul coins. Boss, what do you say?"
Upon hearing this, the old man looked a little disappointed.
This was a big client!
A god-level powerhouse!
If he could earn a favor or even just be remembered by such a figure, it would be an immense gain.
For a Soul Sage-level powerhouse, ten thousand gold soul coins weren't really a big deal…
Of course, that excluded those from Shrek Academy…
"Alright, ten thousand it is."
The old vendor nodded without haggling further.
At his age, he understood how to navigate such things.
Kong nodded as well and took out a gold card worth ten thousand gold soul coins from his storage soul tool, handing it to the vendor.
After the transaction was complete,
Kong took four skewers of candied hawthorn, handing two skewers each to Raiden Shogun and Ei.
As for the remaining ones, he stored them away.
"Ah…"
Raiden Shogun took a bite, then brought her candied hawthorn to Kong's mouth and blinked at him playfully.
Kong smiled and immediately…
"This Thunder God King isn't as difficult to get along with as I imagined,"
The old vendor thought to himself, then quietly turned and left.
He did recognize Kong, but he hadn't shouted about it publicly.
He hadn't cried out 'Thunder God King' or anything like that.
What if the god disliked it?
"Husband, try this one…"
Ei glanced at Raiden Shogun and then imitated her actions, offering her candied hawthorn.
"Alright, my little Ei!"
Suddenly, Kong sensed something and turned his head.
He saw three people staring wide-eyed, mouths slightly open, looking like they wanted to say something but didn't dare.
They looked utterly shocked and bewildered.
These three were none other than the leading figures of Spirit Hall's Golden Generation:
Xie Yue, Hu Liena, and Yan.
They were completely stunned.
The Thunder God King… openly showing affection in public!
Good heavens, truly good heavens!
"Why are you all looking so surprised?"
Kong scratched his head, confused.
Hearing this, Xie Yue, Hu Liena, and Yan all trembled. Was Kong going to be angry?
In the end, as the big brother of the group, Xie Yue swallowed nervously and said sincerely, "Apologies, we were just too shocked. A being like you… would actually…"
"Would actually stroll around the streets like an ordinary person…"
The corner of Kong's mouth twitched. Was it really that big of a deal?
In Liyue, the gods even held funerals for themselves!
When there was nothing to do, they listened to opera, strolled around town, teased the birds…
"Gods are merely people who have broken past level one hundred. Strolling around like ordinary folks is perfectly normal, isn't it?"
"Besides, true gods aren't those who sit high above, demanding worship and faith…"
