Madeline woke up, feeling pain shooting through every part of her body. She tried to recall what had happened, but the memory was faint. The only thing she remembered was being with Draven. Oh no, Draven. She sat up, her eyes fluttering open to familiarize herself with her surroundings. Her feet and hands were both tied, and she realized that she was lying on the ground in a rocky cave that was neatly carved. In front of her was a thomb.
Realization dawned on her as to what had actually happened, how she had been with Draven one second and then thrown to the cold ground the next. She panicked, her eyes darting about the empty cave, but there was no sight of Draven. What had happened?
Madeline tried to get up, but the pain was too much. It felt as if someone had hit her whole body with an iron. Not to mention the ropes tied around her legs and hands. "Hello!" she yelled for help, but her voice only echoed in the empty cave, reverberating through all corners and back to her.
