Elara was overwhelmed with gratitude. "I don't know how to thank you," she said, tears of relief streaming down her face. "You've given me my life back."
I told her to relax and rest for the day. When Joshua and Eric arrived home, they were astounded by her transformation and bombarded me with questions. Joshua accepted my explanation when I told them I had bought a healing potion with the money we had saved, but Eric was skeptical. He checked our money pouch and found it untouched.
"If you bought a healing potion, why is all the money still here?" Eric asked, his brow furrowed. "And how did you get your hands on a potion that's reserved for the nobility and can't be bought easily?"
Realizing I couldn't keep the truth from him any longer, I took a deep breath and explained my ability to accelerate the growth of plants and enhance their properties. Eric listened in silence, his face a mask of concentration. After a long pause, he spoke.
"We need to keep this a secret," he said firmly. "There's no known magic like this, and if word gets out, it could bring us a lot of trouble. Use your ability sparingly and only when absolutely necessary."
