In the end, they were wiped out by us mortals united in justice, leaving behind curses as they perished.
If they had lived to this day, their divine worldview would probably have completely shattered, and they would thoroughly understand that 'death is not the point of existence, there's nothing to fear.'
Even in destruction, information is eternal. Even if information is destroyed, the underlying force that constitutes it still exists, perhaps as fantasy or imagination.
Thought has power, the mind has power, matter, information, malice, hope... what in this Sixth Era's universe lacks power?
