The forest was silent as Leo and his team followed Marcus through the hidden route. The dense foliage and twisted branches provided excellent cover, but they also made navigation challenging. Leo knew they had to stay alert; Drake's allies were known for setting traps and ambushes along these less-traveled paths.
Marcus moved with a surprising level of stealth, his steps almost soundless as he led the team deeper into the forest. Despite his shady background, he seemed to know these woods well, avoiding pitfalls and dangerous wildlife with ease.
"Are you sure this is the right way?" Sofia asked, her voice low but filled with suspicion. "This doesn't look like the usual route."
Marcus glanced back with a smirk. "Trust me, this is a shortcut. We should be at the Reclaimer base in a few hours, if we keep up the pace."
