Xiao Ruo awoke in the middle of the night and began to burp even before opening her eyes.
"Are you awake?"
A familiar deep voice came from above her head. Xiao Ruo opened her somewhat swollen eyes and the next second met his eyes full of concern.
It took Xiao Ruo a good while before she fully came to her senses. She remembered what happened before she fell asleep, but she kept burping and her throat was sore, so she struggled to speak.
"Do you feel like throwing up again?" Fu Hanwen asked anxiously.
Xiao Ruo shook her head, burped, and looked at him with teary eyes, her voice hoarse, "My throat hurts."
Fu Hanwen's heart ached even more, worried that she would vomit again if she heard about food or drink. He carefully asked, "Would you like some water?"
Just as Xiao Ruo nodded, Chun Yu's voice came from outside the door, "Boss, is the madam awake?"
"Bring a cup of warm water." Fu Hanwen said.
