Chapter 2 - A Desperate Bond: Fate's Uncertain Dilemma

The morning sun cast it's warm rays upon the boy's face, gently rousing him from his slumber. His eyes fluttered open, scanning the familiar walls of his bedroom adorned with shelves of ancient times and strange, glowing artifacts. The soft, golden light of dawn spilled through the windows, illuminating the delicate, ethereal patterns etched into the glass.

As he sat up, his gaze drifted toward the bed, where the girl from yesterday lay peacefully. Her shiny-sliver hair cascaded down the pillow like a waterfall of moonlight, framing her porcelain doll-like face. Her full lips were slightly parted, and her chest rose and fell with shallow breaths as she layed there sleeping peacefully.

At first, the boy's expression furrowed in confusion. But as memories of the previous day flooded back, his features relaxed. He recalled the chaos, the magic, and the girl's astonishing abilities. The way she had wielded the elements with precision and power, leaving him awestruck and intrigued. And the way she looked so strong, so powerful....and yet so fragile.

As he gazed at her again, he felt an inexplicable sense of calm wash over him. He felt himself becoming lost in the depths of her serene face. Her skin was like porcelain, smooth and unblemished, with a subtle sheen that seemed to glow in the soft morning light. Her eyelashes, dark and luscious, curled gently upward, framing her closed eyes like delicate brushstrokes.

Her lips, full and inviting, seemed to whisper secrets to him, drawing him in with an otherworldly allure. The gentle rise and fall of her chest, as she breathed softly, was like a siren's call, beckoning him closer.

The boy's eyes wandered, drinking in the sight of her, as if he could never get enough. He felt his breath catch in his throat, his heart pounding in his chest, as he became lost in the beauty of this mysterious girl.

Time seemed to stand still, and the world around him melted away, leaving only the two of them, suspended in a sea of tranquillity. The boy's thoughts grew hazy, his mind clouded by the sheer wonder of her presence.

He felt as through he was drowning in her beauty, unable to escape the undertow of his own emotions. And yet, he didn't want to escape. He wanted to stay lost in this moment, forever suspended in the thrall of her loveliness.

But as the moment ticked by, the boy slowly came back to himself, his awareness returning like a gentle breeze on a summer's day. He blinked, his eyes focusing once more on the girl's peaceful face, and felt a pang of wonder, mixed with a dash of fear.

What was happening to him? Why did he feel so drawn to this mysterious girl? And what secrets lay hidden beneath her serene, beautiful surface?

Snapping out of his reverie, he stood up and headed toward the washroom to freshen up before she woke up.

After completing his morning routine, he entered the kitchen to prepare breakfast. The aroma of freshly baked bread wafted through the air, mingling with the sweet scent of ripe fruits. He glanced at the clock, noting the time, and made his way back to the bedroom to wake the girl.

"Hey, wake up", he said softly, gently shaking her shoulder, from above the blanket "It's morning".

But she didn't stir. He tried again, this time a bit louder.

"Hey, can you hear me? Wake up".

Still, there was no response. A faint crease formed on his forehead as he sensed something was amiss.

"What's wrong?" he muttered to himself, his concern growing. "Why won't you wake up?"

He drew closer, his hand reaching out to gently touch her forehead. Her skin was scorching hot, and he could feel the heart radiating from her body. His eyes widened in alarm as he discovered that her temperature was rising rapidly.

"No, no, no", he whispered, panic creeping into his voice. "This can't be happening".

Without hesitation, he attempted to heal her using his water element, but to his dismay, it had no effect. He tried various methods to cool her down, but nothing seemed to work. He even used his rare magic to try and stabilize her condition, but it only seemed to make things worse.

As the situation grew more dire, the boy realized he needs expert help. He decided to seek out his aunt's guidance, hoping she could provide a solution. With a deep breath, he left the girl's side and teleported to his aunt's residence. He materialized in her living room, his expression grim.

"Aunt, I need your help", he said, his voice urgent.

His aunt expression turned solemn sensing the urgency, and she nodded without asking any question she followed him. "Let's go".

Together, they teleported back to the boy's bedroom. The aunt's eyes widened in surprise as she took in the sight of a girl lying in her nephew's bed. Seeing his aunt expression, the boy panicked and said that,"Aunt the girl....she's not waking up, and her temperature is rising rapidly". Seeing the boy's grim expression, however, conveyed the gravity of the situation to her.

"Aunt, please", he urged again, his voice laced with concern. "She's burning up. I've tried everything, but nothing's working".

The aunt's expression turned solemn as she hastened towards the girl. Upon touching her forehead, the aunt's hand jerked back, her eyes flashing with alarm.

"What's happening to her?" the boy asked, his anxiety palpable.

The aunt's face was etched with worry as she began to examine the girl using her earth element. After a few moments, she turned to the boy, her voice low and serious.

"She's suffering from magical exhaustion", she explained. "Her body is struggling to cope with the immense power coursing though her body".

"But I thought she was just sleeping", the boy said, his brow furrowed in concern.

The aunt's expression turned grim. "She's not sleeping, my dear. She's fighting for her life".

The boy's eyes widened as the weight of his aunt's words settled upon him.

"How much do you want to save her?" the aunt asked, her eyes piercing.

The boy's expression was resolute. "I'll do anything".

The aunt's gaze bore into his soul. "Are you prepared to risk everything, even your own life?"

Without hesitation, the boy nodded.

The aunt's face turned grim. "To save her, you'll need to form a bond with her. I'm not sure what's happening to her, but her body is extremely weak. Even a slight use of magic could prove fatal".

And forming bond is the only way to save her, you know by bonding with her you can share powers with each other, and also your rare magic will help her magic to stay stable till the time she learn to handle it.

The boy's eyes widened as the weight of his aunt's words settled upon him. Forming a bond was a perilous endeavour, especially for someone with magic as rare as his. If the person he bonded with wasn't his true soulmate, the backlash would be catastrophic. He would experience a death-like state, unable to awaken for at least a month. And for someone with rare magic like him, the consequences would be twice as severe.

The boy's inner voice wishpered, "Protect her, no matter the cost".

But at what price?

As the boy stood there, torn between his desire to save the girl and the risks involved, a daunting question hung in the air:

Will he choose to help the girl, potentially sacrificing his own well-being, or will he abandon her, leaving her to face her death alone?

"The heart is willing, but the path is uncertain; yet, it is in the darkness that we discover our greatest courage".
