The ambulance siren blared urgently as it stopped at the entrance; the doors flew open, and several medical staff immediately rushed a victim, whose head and face were scorched black, off the ambulance and hurriedly pushed them into the resuscitation room for emergency treatment.
The local police officers followed.
"What happened?" The duty surgeon approached them while asking for details.
"Car accident, fire, severe burns; the patient is in a critical condition!" one of the doctors replied as they hurried along with the victim.
The two doctors quickly conferred on the emergency measures and sent the patient straight into the intensive care unit.
