"Grandfather—" Pus called out but didn't come forward.
Perhaps the Celestial Burial Platform was a sacred place, not to be casually tread upon.
Grandfather Pus nodded slightly, stepped down from the Celestial Burial Platform, and appraised Mai Xiaomai with his narrow, brown phoenix eyes.
Mai Xiaomai greeted him with a slight smile and a nod, introducing herself, "Hello, my name is Mai Xiaomai. I ended up here because of a plane crash and was saved by Pus."
Grandfather Pus looked up at the sky.
Just then, a plane passed overhead, appearing as minuscule as a bird in the lofty sky.
"Yes, that's a plane. I fell from one just like that," Mai Xiaomai hurriedly explained.
She wasn't sure if the people here were cut off from the world, unaware of what a plane even was.
Grandfather Pus nodded again and then paid her no more mind, striding toward another path.
"Does your grandfather not welcome me?" Mai Xiaomai asked Pus, feeling a bit disheartened by his indifference.
