The battlefield was now filled with chaos as Oscar's clones joined the fray, each of them using their own abilities to attack the Guardian from different angles. The Guardian recoiled from the sudden onslaught, the combination of fire, water, and shadow attacks hammering at its armored form.
Oscar's original form stood poised, watching the chaos unfold with careful eyes. His clones were relentless, keeping the Guardian off balance while he waited for the right moment to strike again.
The Guardian's massive tail swung, narrowly missing one of the clones as it used [Fire Ball] to launch an explosive attack. The creature hissed angrily, trying to retaliate, but the clones danced around it, casting spells and launching attacks to create openings for Oscar to exploit.
The Guardian's eyes glowed red as it twisted around, its wings flapping violently to stir up a gust of wind that knocked Oscar's clones back. But the creatures were persistent, their attacks relentless as they closed the gap.
Oscar narrowed his eyes as the Guardian focused on one of the clones using [Water Blast], the powerful jet of water pushing it back slightly. With a flick of his wrist, Oscar used [Earth Spikes], launching jagged rocks from the ground to pierce the creature's hide. The spikes scraped against its scales, but didn't pierce deeply enough.
"That won't do," Oscar muttered under his breath, watching the Guardian move to recover from the onslaught. The creature was tough, but its movements were becoming sluggish from the combination of attacks.
He switched to a different tactic.
With a swift motion, Oscar disappeared into the shadows, using [Shadow Travel] to reappear directly above the Guardian. He took a deep breath and leaped, slamming down with [Infernal Cleave] in a downward arc. The ground cracked beneath him, sending up a shockwave of fire and debris.
The Guardian roared, trying to dodge, but the attack was too quick. It was sent tumbling backward, its large body slamming into the burning ruins of the city. Oscar stood up, his expression focused. The Guardian was clearly weakening, its movements more sluggish with every blow.
Ding!
[Guardian's HP Reduced by 35%]
Oscar could feel the energy in the air shifting as his attacks took effect. The Guardian's movements were becoming more erratic, and it was starting to show signs of exhaustion. Now was the time to finish this.
He called his clones back to him, the three Oscar's standing side by side as they each powered up for one final strike. Oscar gripped Crimson Fang tightly, the sword glowing with fiery energy as he prepared to strike the decisive blow.
"Let's end this," Oscar muttered.
In a synchronized move, the three Oscars charged forward, the clones unleashing a barrage of attacks as they surrounded the Guardian. [Fire Ball], [Water Blast], [Shadow Spears], and [Light Spear] all hit their target in rapid succession, causing the Guardian to stagger.
Guardian looked at the Trio of Oscar, as then tryed to fly up, but then Oscar uses [Shadow Arms] Ans dragged it to the ground, as then Oscar walked up to frh Guardian, he looked at one of his title.
[Title: Snake Slayer]
It basically gave him a 40% attack boost to any scale enemy he faught, he raised his sword covered it with [Wins Slash] and cut the Guardian head, as it let out a pain cry, as it died.
Ding!
[Prey Slaughtered]
Ding!
[Host has leveled up 58 → 64]
Ding!
[Rewards: Demon Tower Key, Grimm Egg, Escape Crystal, Demon Snake Core].
Oscar took a deep breath, as he sighed, as he then saw the Guardian turning to dust, as the turned into a shirt, as he looked at the white shirt, as eh picked it up, as it has a Snake like degine
Oscar stood still for a moment, his breath slowing as the last remnants of the battle faded away. The dust from the defeated Guardian still lingered in the air, and the smell of fire and destruction clung to the atmosphere. The Dungeon Key in his pocket pulsed faintly, almost as if urging him onward, but his mind was focused on the events that had just unfolded.
He glanced down at the white shirt he had picked up from the Guardian's disintegration, its intricate snake-like design clearly marking it as something special. The armor had an odd but distinct aura to it, almost as if it was linked to the creature he had just slain.
[Snake Armour: This increases the Host's Defence by +5, Charisma +5. It looks like a white shirt. This is one of the armours of the Beast Armour Set.]
Oscar's gaze lingered on the shirt for a moment, the power of the armor slowly sinking in. It wasn't much, but it could make a difference in the battles ahead. He slipped it into his inventory for later use, knowing he would need all the help he could get.
His clone's voice broke through his thoughts. "So, now what, boss?"
Oscar turned to face the clone, eyes narrowing as he stared at the looming Demon Tower ahead. The structure was massive, its silhouette casting a long shadow over the city's ruins. The pulsating energy from the tower seemed almost alive, as if it were calling to him, beckoning him to explore its depths. But Oscar wasn't ready. Not yet.
"I'm not ready," he muttered, mostly to himself. He knew what the tower represented. A new challenge, a new trial. And he was still recovering from the battle with the Guardian.
Oscar's thoughts raced as he recalled the Demon Tower's reputation. It was said to house unimaginable power, but it was also notorious for its labyrinthine twists and near-impossible monsters. A place like this wasn't just a test of strength, but of endurance, wit, and willpower.
The clone tilted its head. "But we've got the key, right?"
Oscar nodded, his eyes still focused on the tower. The Demon Tower Key rested heavy in his inventory, its faint glow a constant reminder of what lay ahead. But the rewards would be immense—he knew that much. He just wasn't in the right state to tackle it now.
"Yeah," Oscar replied, clenching his fist as a sense of determination began to build. "But it's not about just opening the door. It's about being ready for what comes next."
His clone nodded, understanding the gravity of the situation. "We wait, then?"
Oscar hesitated before nodding. "We wait. We train. We grow stronger."
He turned away from the tower, already planning his next steps. The future was uncertain, but he knew one thing for sure—he couldn't rush into this place without being fully prepared. The Demon Tower would be there when he was ready, and only then would he truly challenge its depths.
Oscar's mind shifted back to the other rewards he had gained from the Guardian's defeat. The Grimm Egg was intriguing, but what could it hatch into? A creature or something more? The Demon Snake Core also caught his attention. It could potentially be used to craft something powerful, but he'd need to figure out how to utilize it.
His gaze shifted to the Escape Crystal, a safety net in case things went awry. He wasn't one to retreat, but having an emergency exit could prove invaluable in the face of overwhelming odds.
The clone spoke again, breaking Oscar's thoughts. "What about the Grimm Egg? Think it's safe to hatch?"
Oscar frowned, considering the possibilities. "I don't know yet. We'll need to be cautious. Whatever comes from that egg could be either a powerful ally or a dangerous threat."
He tucked the egg carefully into his inventory, not yet ready to make any decisions about its future.
For now, he needed time. Time to prepare, time to train, and time to gather his strength before facing the looming Demon Tower. It wouldn't be long before he was ready to challenge it, but for now, Oscar was content with waiting. The time would come soon enough.
"Let's head back," he said, turning to his clone. "We've got work to do."
Oscar then wishlist, as Nyx the Grimm Cat came out his shadow, as he holds the Demon Snake Core. "Here you go Girl".
Oscar watched as Nyx, the Grimm Cat, emerged from the shadow, her sleek black form blending seamlessly with the darkness. She stretched her paws before focusing on the Demon Snake Core he had just thrown. With a graceful leap, she snatched the core out of the air and swallowed it in one swift motion.
The moment the core touched her stomach, a strange energy radiated from her, causing the ground beneath them to vibrate lightly. Oscar felt a twinge of power surge through the air, a sign that something was about to change. Nyx's eyes gleamed with anticipation as she closed her eyes, a quiet growl of satisfaction escaping her throat.
"That should do it," Oscar muttered, watching closely. Nyx's body began to shift and change, her form growing slightly larger, the outline of her fur shimmering with a faint metallic sheen. He could feel the energy coursing through her, the result of the Demon Snake Core's influence.
Ding!
[Nyx has absorbed the Demon Snake Core!]
Ding!
[Nyx has gained a significant power boost! New abilities have been unlocked.]
Oscar's eyes widened as the notifications appeared in front of him. He could see Nyx's power increasing, the mysterious nature of the core unlocking something in her. The Grimm Cat's form began to take on a more serpentine quality, the faint outline of scales appearing along her back. Her claws elongated slightly, and her tail swished in the air, now tipped with a blade-like edge that seemed sharper than before.
"Seems like the core's doing its job," Oscar murmured, impressed by Nyx's transformation. The Grimm Cat stretched again, now more agile and stronger than ever, her muscles rippling with new power. Her tail flicked behind her, and she gave a low, pleased purr, her form sleek and deadly.
Ding!
[Nyx's Abilities have been enhanced!]
[New Abilities Unlocked:
Venomous Strike: Nyx's claws and tail now exude a potent venom capable of weakening enemies over time.
Shadow Serpent: Nyx can now summon shadowy serpents from her form to attack or restrain enemies.
Serpent's Agility: Increased agility and speed, making Nyx even harder to hit in battle.
Snake's Vengeance: A passive ability that boosts her damage when fighting against snake or reptilian enemies.]
Oscar grinned, seeing Nyx's new abilities. She was already an asset, but now she was even more formidable. Her role in the upcoming battles had just become even more crucial.
"Good girl, Nyx," Oscar said, patting her head. "You're going to be a real powerhouse now."
Nyx looked up at him, her eyes gleaming with satisfaction and pride. She swished her tail, clearly enjoying the new strength coursing through her. Oscar could feel the bond between them strengthen as he realized how much more valuable she had become. With her new abilities, she would be able to hold her own in even more dangerous battles.
"Alright," Oscar said, feeling a sense of readiness begin to build. "Let's head back to base. We've got a lot to prepare for."
Nyx gave a low, approving growl before disappearing into his shadow once again, ready to spring into action whenever he needed her.
Oscar turned, his mind already running through the next steps. With Nyx strengthened and the other items he had gathered, he was feeling more confident about what was to come. The Demon Tower, the Grimm Egg, and the challenges ahead—he wasn't going to face them unprepared. Not anymore.
As he walked, he let the excitement of the adventure ahead fuel his pace. It was time to gather more strength, level up, and take on whatever came next.
Oscar then looked at the Escape Crystal, as he Teleported back to Beacon outside.
An hour later.
Blake blinked as she spoke. "So let me get this straight when you went to that Towar of Beacon, you ended up in a hallway, you walked and Found a gate with Ruin marking, you opened the door and kept walking, then you saw two different pictures one for Knight Guy and the Other of Grimm like Woman, you saw a Golden Gate and you Ignored it, then you fought a Snake Demon Form Hell in your Dungeon, in the background of a burning a Vale, and now Nyx just levelled up".
Oscar spoke drinking tea made by Blake. "Yeah, pretty much".
Blake just sighed as she spoke. "Just, what is your life, not to mention that Dungeon is still there, and you didn't even fully clear it?".
Oscar pulled out the Demon Tower Key. "I don't think I am strong enough for that yet".
Blake blinked as she spoke. "Oscar, you are the strongest Second Year in Beacon. You just took down The Guardian, and you think you're not ready?".
Oscar leaned back in his chair, swirling the tea in his cup as he stared at the Demon Tower Key. Blake had a point—he had just taken down a Level 68 Guardian, gained new abilities, and even powered up Nyx. But something about that dungeon still made him uneasy.
He sighed. "It's not just about strength, Blake. That place... it felt off. It wasn't just some random dungeon. The ruins, the paintings—who were those people? And the fact that I saw a version of Vale burning? That wasn't normal. If that was just an illusion, fine. But what if it was a vision of something real?"
Blake frowned, arms crossed. "So you're saying you think there's more to that place than just a dungeon? Something connected to the past or the future?"
Oscar nodded. "Exactly. I don't know if I'm dealing with remnants of history, echoes of the future, or something else entirely. And I'm not gonna charge into that tower blindly, even if I am stronger than most people here."
Blake studied him for a moment before sighing again. "Alright, fine. But you are going to go back, right? You can't just leave a dungeon like that unchecked. If there's something dangerous there, you need to deal with it before someone else stumbles in."
Oscar smirked. "Of course. I'm not letting a place like that sit unattended. But I need to prepare. Train more, maybe gather some better gear, and figure out if there's any history on those ruins."
Blake took a sip of her tea, her expression thoughtful. "If it's ruins connected to Beacon, maybe Ozpin knows something."
Oscar froze mid-sip. That... was a really good idea.
"You know what? That's not a bad plan," he admitted. "I'll talk to him. Maybe even check the archives. If that place is connected to something deeper, I want to know before I walk into it again."
Blake gave him a small smile. "See? That's what I like about you, Oscar. You're reckless, but at least you think things through before getting yourself killed."
Oscar chuckled, setting his cup down. "I'll take that as a compliment."
Blake shook her head, amused. "It wasn't meant to be."
Oscar just grinned. He knew she was worried, but this was his fight, and he'd handle it. One way or another, he was going to get to the bottom of that dungeon.
