Qin Jian slept for a full day, finally waking up in the evening.
As soon as he opened his eyes, he saw An Hao sitting by the bed, watching him.
"You're finally awake." Seeing his exhausted face, An Hao felt both distressed and puzzled, "Was this week's training so intensive? How did it tire you out like this?"
Qin Jian just smiled and didn't answer her question. Instead, he reached out his hand to her, "Come here, lie in my arms, let me hold you properly."
It had been more than a week since he had had a proper conversation with his wife, let alone any intimate gestures.
An Hao took off her shoes, climbed onto the bed, and obediently lay in his arms, gently stroking his chest as she spoke, "You haven't answered the question yet. What have you been up to this week? You're exhausted."
"The training was too intense," Qin Jian said, "Is it the annual military exercise that's about to start? I've been busy leading their training."
