An Hao's slow narration was, by now, a form of torture to Ma Mei.
She could already guess what An Hao was about to say! The patient was likely to wake up soon, and once awake, could very well identify her!
Regardless of whether the patient had seen her pull out the tubes, it was already a tremendous ordeal for Ma Mei.
An Hao saw cracks gradually forming on Ma Mei's face, a sign that her mental defenses were slowly being breached. If she could break down soon, An Hao wouldn't even have to wait any longer.
"Dr. Ma, do I need to continue telling you the rest?" An Hao said with a smile curving her lips, "After all I've said, you might say, what would it matter if the patient woke up? He couldn't exactly identify you! Actually, I discovered something quite interesting. Do you want to hear it?"
"What do you really want to say, An Hao?" Ma Mei was already overwhelmed, feeling as though a massive stone was pressing against her chest, making it hard to breathe.
