An Hao hung her head in silence, feeling upset. She had been overjoyed at the thought of going with him, and now this sudden turn of events—how could it not sadden her?
"My good wife, don't be upset! I promise I will come to see you. I may not be able to be with you during the day, but I'll definitely come at night, okay?" Qin Jian couldn't bear to see An Hao sad and could only make such arrangements.
"Are you serious?" An Hao looked up and asked.
"Of course, I am!" Qin Jian gently wiped away the tears on An Hao's face with the pad of his finger. "Look at you, about to be a mother, and yet still acting like a child?"
An Hao shook her head, her voice low as she sobbed twice, "It might be because of the pregnancy, the hormones in my body are imbalanced. Sometimes even I struggle to control my emotions."
"I understand! I don't blame you."
Just as Qin Jian had coaxed An Hao into feeling better, and the two were getting ready to rest,
there was another knock at the door downstairs.
