Wen Yanran's reaction was so bizarre that even Xi Beiyang realized something was amiss. He shifted uneasily and pulled Wen Yanran away from himself.
He reminded himself this was his mother's friend, and he had to be patient, "Sorry, that... I think it would be better if we sat down and talked this over."
Xi Beiyang thought his tone was extremely polite, but Wen Yanran looked heartbroken because of his actions.
She covered her mouth, tears silently streaming down her face.
