Chapter 79 - Chapter 79

Chapter 79: The Transformation of Zhu Zhuqing

"Will the Bronze Spirit Fighter Thousand-Handed Shura and the Bronze Spirit Fighter Netherworld Spirit Cat please report to Fighting Field Fifteen."

Inside the lounge of the Great Spirit Arena, the students of Shrek Academy were resting when the announcer's voice echoed through the speakers.

"My opponent in a one-on-one match is Zhu Qing?" Tang San looked at Zhu Zhuqing in surprise.

Zhu Zhuqing, as cold as ever, showed no reaction. She simply stood up, pushed open the door, and walked out without a word.

Dai Mubai hesitated, wanting to say something. Maybe he realized he had messed up last night. But before he could even get a word out, Zhu Zhuqing was already gone.

Left with no choice, Dai Mubai patted Tang San's shoulder and said, "Xiao San, take it easy on her, alright?"

Tang San smiled slightly and nodded. "Of course."

As Tang San and Zhu Zhuqing left, Ye Feng stood up as well. The rest of Shrek Academy's students and teachers followed, all eager to watch the fight.

While walking, Xiao Wu curiously asked, "Brother, did you place a bet?"

Ye Feng nodded.

The Great Spirit Arena wasn't just a battlefield for spirit masters—it was a gambler's paradise. As long as you weren't the one fighting, betting was fair game.

"How much did you bet on Tang San?"

"I didn't bet on Tang San to win."

"Wait... you bet on Zhuqing?" Xiao Wu blinked in disbelief.

"Yeah."

"No way. Brother, Tang San is strong. Besides you and me, he's the toughest among us. Sure, Zhuqing's odds are better—1.2 to 1 compared to Tang San's 1.1 to 1—but I don't think she can beat him."

"I trust my people."

Ye Feng glanced at Zhu Zhuqing as she stepped onto the fighting platform. He suddenly felt a piercing gaze on him. Turning his head, he found Dai Mubai staring at him with a complicated and sharp look. Ye Feng smirked. "Especially people I've trained myself."

Hearing this, Dai Mubai's expression softened a little.

"In the one-on-one arena, the third match—Spirit Master Thousand-Handed Shura versus Spirit Master Netherworld Spirit Cat!"

The host's voice carried across the stadium.

"Now, let's talk records! Thousand-Handed Shura has won nine matches in a row. If he wins this one, he'll hit ten straight wins, earning himself 100 points. Meanwhile, Netherworld Spirit Cat has a five-win streak. If she takes this match, she'll earn a solid 10 points!"

The stakes were clear. Even though Tang San and Zhu Zhuqing were teammates, neither would give up easily. They needed to push themselves to grow.

"Even though we're partners, I won't hold back." Tang San stood with his hands behind his back, calm and composed. As a control-type spirit master, he felt confident. "Points aren't our real goal—it's about refining our actual combat experience."

Zhu Zhuqing, unbothered, simply replied, "Then let's see how much distance still exists between us."

She wasn't even in a battle stance. Instead, she just stood there with her eyes closed, completely still.

Tang San frowned. What was she doing? She was so calm it felt unsettling. Tang San wasn't afraid of her attacking—he was afraid of her unreadable composure.

"The match begins!"

First Spirit Skill: Binding!

Tang San's Blue Silver Grass shot out, trying to restrain Zhu Zhuqing.

She lightly tapped her toes against the ground, effortlessly dodging his attack. Moving like a ghost, she closed the distance between them in an instant.

First Spirit Skill: Nether Stab!

Tang San's eyes gleamed purple as he activated Purple Demon Eye. He barely dodged her attack, quickly stepping back. His palm moved, and Blue Silver Grass surged from the arena floor, forming a massive Blue Silver Cage that trapped Zhu Zhuqing inside.

"Damn, that's bad," Dai Mubai muttered, frowning. "My little cat's in trouble now. Speed's her biggest advantage, but in that cage, she's stuck."

The crowd leaned forward in anticipation. How would Zhu Zhuqing deal with this?

"...I guess I have no choice," Zhu Zhuqing murmured.

With a swift motion, her sharp claws slashed through the fabric of her sleeves, chest, and pant legs.

"Wait… she's stripping?!" Someone in the audience gasped.

But before any wild thoughts could form, they saw that Zhu Zhuqing had been wearing a tight-fitting outfit underneath. Five heavy training garments, lined with iron weights, fell to the floor with a loud clunk.

At the same time, Tang San launched another attack, his Blue Silver Grass surging towards her.

Whoosh!

Now free of her weighted clothing, Zhu Zhuqing became even faster. She blurred across the battlefield, avoiding every single one of Tang San's attacks with ease.

"Damn, she's fast!" someone in the crowd shouted.

First Spirit Skill: Nether Stab!

Zhu Zhuqing moved like the wind, attacking Tang San head-on.

Tang San quickly used his Ghost Shadow Perplexing Track to dodge, but something felt off.

"Why… why is she so damn fast?" Tang San was shocked. He was using footwork from the Tang Sect, but even that wasn't enough to keep up.

"This speed…" Grandmaster Yu Xiaogang muttered, stunned. "This isn't something a Spirit Grandmaster should be capable of."

Zhu Zhuqing's speed now exceeded the limits of her rank. With the Narcissus Jade Muscle Bone herb enhancing her body, she had reached a level where she could rival even Spirit Kings in raw agility.

Ye Feng smirked.

After training with him, Zhu Zhuqing had already surpassed normal Agility-Type Spirit Masters at her level. Now, with the fairy herb boosting her physique, she was a monster in terms of speed. If not for Tang San's unique Tang Sect techniques, he'd have lost already.

"Xiao San is going to lose," Grandmaster declared.

Inside the Blue Silver Cage, Tang San's vines lashed out like whips. But Zhu Zhuqing dodged every attack, her body moving instinctively, like she could sense the air currents before they even reached her.

Third Spirit Skill: Nether Slash!

Zhu Zhuqing brought her hands together above her head. The claws on her ten fingers fused into a razor-sharp blade, glowing black with concentrated spirit power. She slashed downward at Tang San, the energy cutting through the air with a piercing whistle.

Mysterious Jade Hand!

Tang San had no choice but to activate his Tang Sect technique. His hands gleamed with a jade-like sheen as he blocked the attack.

BANG!

The moment their attacks collided, Tang San was sent stumbling three steps back. Though he wasn't injured, his blood churned violently from the force of the impact.

First Spirit Skill: Nether Stab!

Zhu Zhuqing pressed forward, attacking again.

"Not this shit again!" Tang San cursed under his breath, dodging with Ghost Shadow Perplexing Track.

Just as he thought he had escaped, something wrapped tightly around his ankle.

"...A tail?"

Tang San's eyes widened.

At that moment, he finally understood. Zhu Zhuqing's Nether Stab wasn't the real attack—it was a feint. The true strike came from her tail.

With a fierce yank, Zhu Zhuqing swung Tang San off the ground—sending him flying straight toward the audience seats.
