Chapter 84: Let Go of That Girl
"Let him go!"
Xiao Wu couldn't hold back anymore. She shouted loudly and leaped lightly from the roof to the ground.
"Oh? Another beauty? Damn, I'm lucky tonight," Bu Le said, licking his lips, his eyes burning with desire.
"You're fucking dead," Ye Feng said coldly. He landed immediately, and five spirit rings appeared beneath his feet—two yellow, one purple, and two black.
Second Spirit Skill: Freeze
As Ye Feng's second spirit ring lit up, his skill activated instantly, freezing Bu Le solid.
Bang!
The moment Bu Le broke free from the ice, Ye Feng shot forward like an arrow. In an instant, he was right in front of Bu Le and swung a powerful punch straight into his jaw.
Bang!
With his strength reaching sixteen Newtons, Ye Feng's punch sent Bu Le flying ten meters back. Just as the man tried to get up, Ye Feng was already on him, stomping down with one foot and pinning him to the ground.
"You dared to insult Zhuqing. You're fucking dead."
Ye Feng's eyes turned ice-cold as he flicked his right hand. His first martial spirit, the Xuan-Yuan Sword, materialized in his grip.
Shing!
With one swift motion, Ye Feng slashed his sword across Bu Le's throat. Blood gushed from the wound as the man convulsed a few times before going completely still. The infamous bandit who had terrorized Soto City was now history.
Once he was done, Ye Feng turned toward Zhu Zhuqing. The moment Bu Le died, the strange binding spirit skill that had trapped her vanished.
Then, Ye Feng froze.
Under the dim light, he could see that a large portion of Zhu Zhuqing's shirt had been torn off, leaving her upper body almost completely exposed.
Zhu Zhuqing noticed Ye Feng's stare and frowned. Confused, she glanced down at herself—and her eyes widened in horror.
"Ahhh!"
She screamed and frantically pulled at the remains of her torn clothes, trying to cover herself. Her face flushed bright red, like a ripe peach, making her look both embarrassed and furious.
"We should go back."
Ye Feng turned away, forcing himself not to look at her anymore. He started walking toward Shrek Academy. Xiao Wu quickly followed, pulling a cloak from her storage ring and draping it over Zhu Zhuqing's shoulders.
As they walked, Xiao Wu chatted with Zhu Zhuqing, and Ye Feng finally understood why she had been alone in Soto City.
Earlier that night, when Ye Feng and Xiao Wu left for barbecue, the others had gone their separate ways. Oscar had gone to buy a gift for Meng Yiran. Ma Hongjun, suffering from his "evil fire," had gone looking for his girlfriend. Ning Rongrong, Tang San, and Grandmaster had returned to the academy to rest. Meanwhile, Dai Mubai had dragged Zhu Zhuqing away to talk.
Dai Mubai had wanted to clear up the tension between them, but they ended up arguing instead. In frustration, he had stormed off, leaving Zhu Zhuqing on her own. Feeling upset, she wandered the riverside, trying to calm down. On her way back to the academy, she stumbled across Bu Le attempting to abduct a girl. Without hesitation, she jumped in to help—but was ultimately overpowered. That's how she ended up in the situation Ye Feng had found her in.
Ye Feng let out a quiet sigh. He could tell that his presence was already shifting things away from the original story's timeline.
In the original events, it had been Ma Hongjun who tried to pick up a girl and ended up getting beaten down by Bu Le. Tang San, Xiao Wu, and the others had stepped in to save him. But now, because of Ye Feng's interference, Dai Mubai and Zhu Zhuqing's relationship had deteriorated even further, leading to tonight's events.
When they finally reached Shrek Academy, they found Dai Mubai waiting at the gate. His expression darkened the moment he saw Zhu Zhuqing walking beside Ye Feng.
"Zhuqing, why are you with him again?" Dai Mubai's voice was full of displeasure.
Zhu Zhuqing's eyes flashed with anger. If Ye Feng hadn't shown up tonight, she would've been ruined. Meanwhile, Dai Mubai had left her alone, and now, he had the nerve to question her?
"What the hell do you mean by that?" she shot back.
Dai Mubai had originally been waiting for Zhu Zhuqing to come back so he could apologize. But seeing her with Ye Feng ignited his jealousy, and his frustration got the better of him.
"You know damn well what I mean," he said coldly.
"Say it clearly then," Zhu Zhuqing challenged.
Dai Mubai let out a harsh laugh. "If you keep acting like this, then we should just break up."
"Fine! Let's break up!" Zhu Zhuqing snapped without hesitation.
"Good. From now on, we have nothing to do with each other."
Zhu Zhuqing narrowed her eyes. "And how do you plan to explain this to His Majesty of the Xingluo Empire?"
Dai Mubai scoffed. "Explain what? Do you think I give a shit? You and I both know we were put together for political reasons. As pawns, why the hell should I explain anything to them?"
Zhu Zhuqing was stunned. She had tried to use the Xingluo Empire's influence to intimidate him, but she hadn't expected him to be so dismissive.
"Fine," she said coldly. "If you're so determined, then let's end this."
"Fine."
Dai Mubai turned his gaze toward Ye Feng, his expression unreadable. Then, without another word, he turned and walked into the academy.
"Coward," Zhu Zhuqing spat, her voice full of bitterness. "Dai Mubai, you're a fucking coward!"
Dai Mubai didn't respond. He just kept walking, disappearing into the academy's grounds.
As soon as he was out of sight, Zhu Zhuqing's body trembled, and she suddenly crouched down, hugging her knees. Soft sobs escaped her lips.
Xiao Wu's expression softened. She crouched beside Zhu Zhuqing, gently rubbing her back. "It's okay… it's okay…" she murmured, trying to comfort her. But in this situation, she wasn't sure what else to say.
She turned to Ye Feng and subtly nodded toward Zhu Zhuqing, signaling him to say something.
Ding!
"Congratulations, you have altered the original timeline. Through multiple actions, you have successfully caused Zhu Zhuqing and Dai Mubai to break up. Reward: 46 attribute points available for distribution."
Ye Feng's eyes twitched.
He had been rewarded… for breaking them up?
He had already resigned himself to becoming "family" with Xiao Wu, effectively blocking Tang San's future with her. He had also tried to convince Oscar to stop pursuing Ning Rongrong. He had done all of that on purpose.
But Zhu Zhuqing?
He hadn't actively tried to break her up with Dai Mubai. That had happened naturally.
Yet, here he was, getting rewarded for it.
Ye Feng couldn't help but feel… weird.
