Cherreads

Chapter 14 - 8. I am filthy rich

"Am afraid what you want needed alot of sacrifices to get, it is a priceless treasure that I would rather keep for myself now." A Silver haired man said indifferently.

The priest frowned, he was pretty sure everything had gone well, what had happened.

"I don't care how 'much', but I want that stone 'no matter what'. It will help cure this old body of mine so that I can 'serve' the Gods longer." He said in an hoarse voice.

"Actually the stone isn't from Urax." The silver haired said.

"What?"

"You know how dangerous that is, given how rare and powerful the stone is." He paused,"323 billion ronians, if not, then no deal."

"What? That's too absur-"

The silver haired stood up and walked towards the exit.

"305.."

"309.."

"315.. if not no deal!!" The Old Priest shouted in frustration.

The silvered turned around with an amiable smile. He walked back and sat down.

A small box appeared. After confirmation, the transaction was done swiftly.

Richard felt his heart bleed. A hole too deep had been dug in his pockets. He held the box tightly as of afraid the silver haired bastard would change his mind.

He had noticed a golden snake around the man's neck. Its gaze sent chills down his spine. It was very dangerous.

'Is that his 'pet'.'

The silver haired was grinning from ear to ear. This deal was far too good.

He walked out briskly. He quickly disappeared in the crowd. He was teleported away.

He didn't want to be followed. He had gained more attention recently than necessary.

"Why don't you use a disguise~."

"Well, I want them to remember my face. And also I like acting free. I can't hide for long why not feel the thrill now, hehe."

IMPERIAL ROYAL CASTLE.

A black haired woman sat on a throne. Her eyes indifferently stared at the kneeling figure below. Her body unconsciously released a suffocating pressure. The figure trembled.

"Everything is going as planned, your Majesty. Every Empire agreed to attend the banquet as soon as they got a gist of it." He said.

He answered everything the Empress questioned. The Empire was going to hold a grand banquet for the Dragon Princess' birthday. It was also her farewell to the 'Academy'.

"Did you invite that 'man'?"

The Empress' question caused the man's smile to stiffen. He quickly looked for an excuse but couldn't find any.

"He disappeared."

Boom

A suffocating pressure descended. He choked. Cold sweat formed on the back of his neck. He felt a strong bloodline suppression.

"Please punish this incompetent one." He said in shame.

"Your dismissed." She said coldly.

The old man quickly vanished.

"I will have my dear daughter invite him. Otherwise he will be hard to get, worst he will become cautious towards us." She stood up and left.

She walked towards Hilosura's room. It was spacious. A sweet feminine scent filled the room. The Empress walked towards the balcony. Her clothes transformed into casual ones.

A black haired beauty sat on a balcony. Her gaze on the City in a distance.

"Good scenary, isn't it." She asked her daughter. Her hand wrapped around Hilosura's waist.

"Yeah, it is." She replied. "What brings you here?"

She knew how busy her mother was now that her birthday was nearing.

"Always quick to notice, huh. I want you to invite your 'boyfriend' at the banquet."

Hilosura's head snapped towards her mum.

"Are you being serious here, have some shame mum. There is no romantic relationship between me and him. As for inviting him I don't think that will happen."

She wasn't too delusional to think someone with such powerful treasures would easily accept her invitation. They weren't friends nor knew eachother for him to do that.

"He might think we want to capture him or something you know..."

She took a deep breathe. Politics ran too deep in every action a noble took. She understood the moment her mother remained quiet.

"Okay, I won't promise anything. I will persuade him to the best of my abilities."

The Dragon Empress, Tiamat flashed a smile. That was what she wanted to hear.

"Am sorry but we have to bring him on our side. He is a moving treasure trove, one who has treasures capable of affecting beings at my level. You what that means."

"We can't let other Empires have him."

Hilosura pulled out her phone and texted. Tiamat gracefully approached curiously.

"Shadow, huh."

I now have enough money not to worry of running bankrupt anytime soon. That Old man surely felt cheated but its not like that was his 'own' money.

It belongs to people and I only took a little compared to the Temple's wealth.

"That little brat had a strong curse on his soul~. It is corrupting and devouring him slowly." Medusa's soothing voice slipped into his ear.

He couldn't help but caress her scales. They were very soft which surprised him.

"I had to exploit that to my advantage. I had what would save his ass thus I stated my price. I had nothing to lose in the long run."

Medusa's slited eyes glanced at him in understanding. He was more mature and intelligent than she had initially thought. He ceased every opportunity he got to maximise the profits.

She didn't understand his mysterious background one bit but from what she heard so far, it was a powerful one. Having a powerful entity by his side all time spoke volumes.

In the City, he encountered a towering building. He walked leisurely, his hand in pocket.

He entered a lift. It went up to the top floor. He was going to meet Hilosura, he had given her this address and most importantly she had to come alone.

If she wasn't satisfied with his condition, then he saw no use in meeting her. Some might say he was being 'unreasonable' but this was for his safety.

It took sometime to reach the top.

Ding!

It was a single spacious floor. He walked in as he looked around. The interior was had exotic decoration which gave it a unique appearance.

The furniture and everything inside had a striking appearance.

At the window, a black haired woman stood. Her gaze captured by the beautiful scenary outside.

"You look beautiful today, Hilosura."

She was dressed in a tantalising blue dress. It held her curvaceous body tightly. She looked more beautiful than ever today. She smiled slightly.

"Well the same could be said for you. I can see you were able to set into the Legendary realm, which makes me wonder how."

Not long ago he had been at Saint realm, Stage 3. How did he manage such a feat in a short time. And now she could sense divine energy from him, which was impossible. The more she looked at this mysterious silver haired, curiosity overwhelmed her.

'This is not good. Sigh.'

She walked towards the table and poured two glasses of wine. She sat on a sofa gracefully like a noble she was.

Anorax unceremoniously sat beside her. She rose an eyebrow in surprise. He picked the glass and sipped calmly.

"The Royal family will be holding a banquet both as a birthday and a farewell to the Dragon Princess."

"This is not just a normal banquet. Princesses and Princes of other Empires are on their way already."

"I simply request for your appearance and also cooperation with the Royal family."

Hilosura talked steady and composed, her voice soft carrying a gentle warmth.

She was dead serious and would make sure he accepted. There were many reasons for this. Some personal ofcourse.

He leaned back slightly. Medusa was wrapped around his neck her eyes closed. She wasn't interested in their conversation.

"What do I gain if the ceremony? It is not beneficial to me or anything." A nonchalant expression adorned his face.

Her lips twisted but inwardly smiled. She never thought he would accept right away.

'It's not like he lacks money, that would have been the approach but no. What he lacks is connections and influence.' She thought.

"You want to enter the Academy, right."

He looked at her and nodded. That was his goal currently. The Academy wasn't easy to enter however much he tried.

Commoners were given a chance to enter but the trials weren't something he wanted to take now. Many of his secrets would be revealed.

"The Dragon Empress can help with that, but you will need to meet her first. Sadly she is busy with the upcoming ceremony."

Her eye flashed with a glint. Her offer was too tempting.

"Why would she bother with me anyway? As a ruler of these vast lands, she surely lacks nothing."

He said his thoughts out.

"Your right and wrong. It's true she has nearly everything but.." Hilosura paused slightly and took a deep breathe. "Empires don't run like that, Anorax. As you can see, the purity of my bloodline is increasing by second. The 'goods' you sell are something that could can a bloodbath. Am sure you know that."

He was not surprised by her words. Though they were 'trash' to him, to others they were priceless treasures.

"Well am 'earning' a living that way. What else can I do, become a 'robber', noway will I do that." He said innocently. He wouldn't fall too low.

Suddenly...
