And that abruptly stirred demon wind was like a steel blade, its potency rising sharply, sweeping up the ground's sand and rocks and hurling them toward the distant Demonkin troops like bullets.

Some Demonkin were struck so hard that their bones broke and they fell, wailing in pain. One particularly unlucky dog-headed Demonkin was hit in the head by a rock the size of a human head; brain matter spilled everywhere, and even his shoes came off. He convulsed on the ground briefly, clearly beyond saving.
Only a handful of quick-witted and powerful Demonkin, relying on their strong cultivation, were still struggling to hold on, but as the demon wind grew stronger, they too wouldn't last much longer.
