The sounds of chains snapping made Jael curse, but he didn't push Lake to say more. He just held the Omega's wrist and let him the way to where Caspian was.
It would only take Asher a few moments to completely get rid of the chains, it was better he got a feel for the situation before then so he would know how to diffuse it.
Lake stopped him in front of the door, standing protectively in front of it even though he didn't look too great, his skin pale.
Jael forced himself to speak softly although he was a bit panicked and very impatient. "What's wrong with Caspian?"
"His heat is strange," Lake finally got the words out, "It's too… much?" He said hesitantly like he was trying to figure out the right words to use, his hair a wild mess. "It's just not supposed to be like this."
Lake had successfully cooled Caspian down at first, and he relaxed knowing that he had managed to buy a few hours. It was the first day of his heat so he might have even managed to buy more than a few hours.
