"No." Angelo gave a vague answer, "Why are you in an abandoned church?" He asked with equal parts curiosity and suspicion, having no choice but to hold a conversation with Nikolai still wrapped around him, restricting his movements.
He looked around as he asked that question, "…that's been burned to the ground." He tagged on.
"I should be asking you that," Jael cocked a brow, studying Nikolai closely. He couldn't see the Mafia King's face but it clearly looked like he was the one clinging to the male Omega.
The male Omega clamped up, the conversation reaching a stalemate. Jael had only hung around this long because he felt like he shouldn't abandon Nikolai if the Mafia King was about to get skinned alive.
From their dusty and sooty appearance, it was clear that they had come out of the tunnel. He decided that he didn't want to hang around any longer, backing out of the room.
"Jael," Nikolai finally came to life as the second-in-command was about to make himself scarce.
